The first instinct I got was to smile at him. And I did. He narrowed his eyes at me probably noticing it was the first time I was doing that.
"Good evening... welcome, "I said, smiling even more.
He looked around the room then back at me "What's wrong?" he asked and I laughed. It sounded even more awkward to me than it would to him.
"Nothing is wrong," I said.
"Have you packed?" he asked dropping a guitar which has his name inscribed on it. That was when I noticed the way he dressed, corporately. I even forgot he was the Ceo of the biggest modeling company in LA and beyond. Somehow, it made me proud.
I pointed to me where my bag was and he nodded, walking into the bathroom.
I breathed out once he was out of sight. The two weeks would be so lonely for me if Megan doesn't come and that was why I would have to make sure he agrees.
I got down from the bed, slipped my feet in my white bear footwear, and walked out of the room, then walked downstairs. I walked into the dining and our dinner had already been set.
"Hey" I called a maid and she walked to me bowing her head slightly.
"I need I and Alex's food on a tray, I would take it up to our room myself, "I said and she nodded walking away from me and then into the kitchen.
Mr. Michael walked in my direction and stopped, turning to me.
"Do you need anything?" he asked, his voice calm. It reminded me of my dad.
"No... but..is there a particular wine Alex likes. I mean like does he have a favorite?"I asked and he nodded.
"Yes, he does. Should I get it?" he asked gesturing towards the wine cellar.
"Yes, please, "I said and he nodded and walked away.
Just then the maid came with the tray and I took it from her. She walked away and Mr. Michael came, placing the expensive-looking wine on the tray after I refused his offer to help me carry the tray.
I turned to the stairs and walked up to the room. I paused for a while and wondered what I'll say.
I carefully pushed the door open with my free hand while carrying the tray in the other hand.
Thankfully he wasn't out yet, so I placed the tray on the table and set everything properly. Then I sat on the bed.
Soon after, he stepped out of the bathroom in a towel. I gulped and forced my eyes to focus on his face. He maintained eye contact with me as he dried his hair with a different towel.
" What is it?" I asked him, trying to ignore his glorious appearance in just that towel.
"I should be asking you that, in last night, you almost killed me for beholding you in a towel. Why are you starting now" he smirked?
"You know what, I'll turn away, just dress up and have dinner" I turned to the other side of the room.
"Why is our food here?" he asked a while later and I figured he was done dressing up.
I turned to him. "We'll be having dinner here," I explained.
"I didn't know I got married to a romantic girl" he walked over to the table and sat down.
I stood up and sauntered to the table taking the seat opposite him.
"Do you always tease people or you're just trying to get on my nerves, cos it's working?" I said staring directly at him.
"And I'm a woman, not a girl," I said uncovering the plates.
"I'm hungry," he said simply and I stared blankly at him. What was I supposed to do about that?
"Ok, let's eat," I mumbled.
He still gazed at me with that cold look in his eyes.
"Is everything alright?" I asked him.
"Do I have to tell you what to do?"
"In this case, yes"
"Don't you know what the maids do when they serve me?" he asked glancing at the food on the table and then back at me.
I frowned understanding what he meant "I am not a maid"
"But you're my wife. Don't wives serve their husbands? Didn't your mom serve your dad?" He smirked.
"The maids usually do that," I let out though it wasn't entirely true. My mom always preferred serving my dad. She always said it was her responsibility. But then again, she did it with love. I don't love this man.
"And the maids would be doing that if you didn't bring my food up here" he now sounded impatient.
That's enough, Elaine. You need something from him.
I nodded and stood up, walking over to his side. I uncovered the dishes and served him on his plate then I rounded the table to my chair.
We ate in silence for a while. But though the atmosphere was calm, my insides were a mess.
What was I going to say? How will I say it? What will be his reaction?
I watched him unnoticed as these questions kept dancing in my head.
"I want to ask something of you"I eventually blurted out fast.
He lifted an eyebrow as his gaze settled on my face.
" And what is that?" he mumbled drinking water.
I sighed "uhmm...well, it's about our honeymoon to Hawaii tomorrow"
His face remained emotionless as he just stared at me. I breathed in and continued.
"Do you plan on doing anything there?"
"Anything like what?"
"I mean wouldn't you get bored?"
"With you, definitely" he sneered and I frowned.
"What's that supposed to mean? I'm not a dull person"
"What do you want, Elaine?"
"Fine, for the both of us not to regret this trip, why don't we bring some friends along, without our parents getting to know" I rushed out.
"Some friends?" he asked and I nodded.
"And why would I agree to that?"
"Because it benefits us both. Just a few friends"
"Whatever, just make sure they go on a different plane. My dad would be watching" he shrugged and stood up.
I squeaked and he gave me a weird look. But I didn't care. He shook his head and walked over to the bed, laying on it.
I picked my phone and put a call through to Megan.
