"Come in,"

"Good morning" I greeted Davina

"Good morning, sweetheart. How was your night?" she had her lovely smile on

"Night-ish?" I prompted

She smiled

"So, today is Sunday, and we will all be going to church. You going to come with?" she asked

"No, I am good" I replied

"Okay then, I will see you when I get back"

She reached for the door but hesitated

"He is going to be waiting, but, for your sake, do not let Him wait too long, okay?" she asked

I gave her a smile; I neither had the need nor desire to fight

I waited a while before freshening up and going down

"She does not take coffee," someone said from behind me

My focus was directed on looking for coffee

"You scared me" I breath

"Good morning" Angel chirped

"Morning,"

I continued my search

"You are not going to church?" she asked

"No"

"Why?"

"Because I do not"

"Okay then. Even though I do not see why not" she muttered the last part, but I still heard

I stopped what I was doing and turned to her, holding myself from lashing out. Instead, I smiled

"I had no idea you lived here,"

"Of course, you do not, since you have been here for only less than a day. And no, I do not live here" she replied

"Oh, you live close by,"

"I slept here. I had some people over at my house, so I just came here" she said

"You were thrown out of your house?"

"No, I had people staying there overnight"

"In your own house? And you left the house for them?"

She crossed her arms

"Yeah. Anything wrong in that?"

"What could be wrong?"

"They did not invade,"

"I did not ask"

"I am sure things are different from where you live but here, in Living Water, we are one big family. Sure, we have our individual houses, but if the main owner is okay with it, which is mostly the case, we can stay for as long as we want"

"So, you all let others invade your space and all. Lovely"

She opened her mouth, but I cut her off

"Are you also not going to church?"

I smiled victoriously as she left

Saying I was bored would be an understatement. I had just been sitting at the counter, doing nothing. Under normal circumstances, if I had my laptop, I would be building up more context for my next project. Authoring African-based novels had become my style, and I was not changing that just yet. I titled the book Adeife; it was going to be a fantasy romance based on werewolves

I settled on a book to continue drafting, or I would have lost my mind to boredom. I was immersed in my world until someone tapped my shoulders. I looked up to meet Davina's worried eyes

"Hey,"

I closed the book

"I have been calling you for a while. Everything okay?" she asked

"Great. I have just been plotting my next book"

"Your next book?" she asked, taking her place at the counter, beside me

"I'm a writer" I explained

She smiled

"You are? Wow!"

"Can I see it?" she asked

"Well, it's just the plotting, but..."

I passed the book to her

"Werewolf?" she asked

I nodded, watching her

Not surprisingly, she grinned "It looks great,"

"Thank you"

"Have you eaten?" she asked

"I am not that much of an eater. Or a cook"

She smiled

"What about a Casserole dish?" she asked

"A Casserole dish"

I was familiar with the name; it was one of the dishes featured in my books, but I had never tried it

She rose an eyebrow

"You have never had one? Now, that is a boomer, but not to worry because I will be sure to make your first experience last a lifetime" she said

"I cannot wait. Also, I was going to ask if you have a laptop or something I can use," I said

"Unfortunately, I do not. We do not have things like that running around here. I will ask around though"

I smiled at her in appreciation

She prepared the dish, while I tried to continue what I was doing to no avail; the kitchen, and probably the whole house, was engulfed in the lovely aroma of what Davina was preparing

"Almost done," she said

As if it has been waiting for that very sentence, the door opened

"What is this delicious smell?" a man asked

He was around Davina's age but looked a bit older

"I am making Casserole. You came right on time; it is almost done"

I did not appreciate the idea of someone joining in, but that did not stop my automatic perfect smile from making an appearance when the 'guest' looked at me

"Sweet Lord, is this the young lady who passed out in front of Aaron's diner?" he asked

"Yes, Hebrew. She is, indeed"

"I do not know what else to say lady, but that the Lord sure loves you," he said

'Does he not? And so passionately at that'

"I am Raelyn" I introduced myself

"I am Hebrew. And I have been given the honor to pastor the church of this town" he said

'Shoot'
