Third Person P.O.V
As little Violet slept on John's shoulder. They all stared at their little sister who was now peacefully asleep, cradled in their brother's arms. "Man these two sometimes have this weird kind of connection," Tristan said as he realized Michael had fallen asleep leaning onto him. He carried the little brother gently and settled him down on the sofa.
"Leaving Violet alone in the house was a bad move, John," Jaime stated as he looked up at the eldest brother.
John placed Violet beside Michael on the sofa and placed a pillow on Michael's back so he wouldn't fall, meaning that Violet was sandwiched between Michael and the backrest of the furniture.
"What the hell crossed your minds to leave her here alone? I could've stayed behind or you maybe, Oh I don't know! Message me to go home so she'll have a companion at home?", he continued.
Michael moved instantly when he felt Violet's presence by his side and automatically wrapped his arms around her, hugging her tightly. While little Violet sucked her thumb, leaning closer to her twins' warmth.
"She went outside for the whole afternoon alone. She could've spotted the gate on the Eastern fence. She could've gotten OUTSIDE." Jaime growled emphasizing the last word as he looked at John who was still staring at the twins sleeping on the sofa with a detached look in his eyes.
"John she might have seen HIM! Don't you understand that? He could've kidnapped and run away with her for all we know!" Jaime once again growled, the pupils of his eyes turning gold as eldest just continued to stare at the twins, fixing the sleeves of his dress shirt that are folded up to his elbows.
John's facial reaction instantly changed from peaceful to an angry scowl, side glancing at the brother seated on the leather loveseat. "Don't you think I know that?" He whisper-yelled.
His teeth clenched and his fist turned white as he stared directly into the brother's fuming gaze. His eyes are instantly covered in black as he knows his brother was right. John knows that HE won't do that to her.
But the brother was right. There might be a slight chance that HE would steal her for himself. The possibilities are endless with his twisted way of thinking ever since the past issues that swirled within the family, but John quickly shook the thought away.
"Never mind that. We should continue our discussion that was interrupted a while ago." His eyes were completely covered in black as he walked toward the table and drank a whole glass of vodka in one swig.
"Tristan you check the cameras and bring the two girls and the boy. Do not let them escape and bring them to the UB, all three of them.", He walked over to his large mahogany desk.
"Keep on the watch for the boy, he seems skittish and too agile. Never mind the girls. They are easy to deal with.", he ordered Tristan in a cold tone. Eyes black as the void.
The third brother nodded in agreement to his orders, standing up to make his way out the door to prepare for the amount of work that needed to be done by the end of the month.
"Jaime you can go to California. I will be the one to stay here and deal with our clients. Don't worry, I will take care of Violet and Michael." John assured Jaime and handed him the papers placed on top of his mahogany desk. It contained all of the information and tasks that were to be accomplished to help him with his work.
As Jaime was starting to leave, John stopped him and told him to carry Michael back to his room and tuck him in bed. The second brother nodded without any complaints and carried Michael leaving the room. Violet feeling the warmth beside her disappear began to whimper.
John sitting on his revolving black leather chair swiftly finished signing the papers to be signed for the day, delayed by fetching Michael to the hospital. Minutes passed, and he took a peek at the little sister on the sofa. Smiling warmly, he saw her angle her body like an infant. Stacking the papers neatly back into a neat pile on his table, he stood up walking towards the sister, carrying the youngest up in his arms gently.
As Violet felt the warmth envelop her again, instinctively leaned more to his neck and gripped onto his dress shirt. Feeling and knowing his precious baby sister is safe in his arms. His black eyes returned to normal and his tensed-up body began to relax. John made sure that the house was secured and locked. Once fully satisfied, he made his way to his room.
Laying Violet on his bed. He made sure that his door and balcony door were locked, even shutting the window tightly. He changed into a normal shirt and joined the little sister to sleep.
Remembering his brother's warning made him feel angry again. "Violet could've gotten outside and god knows what would happen if these two met.", he whispered leaning his head in his hand and staring down at the little sister.
John felt the need. His eyes were starting to turn to a shade of black again but were completely stopped as the little girl's voice interrupted his dark thoughts. "I'm sorry for going outside today and disobeying you. I just wanted to play outside. I promise I won't do it again." Violet whispered, eyes still closed as she placed a small hand on her brother's cheek.
The gesture made John smile, taking her little hands on his and placing a kiss on top of them. "It is alright to play outside. As long as someone is with you at home. We were just worried that something bad might happen to you." He said as he smiled warmly.
"Even if something bad did happen to me. I know that you would come to my rescue and kick the bad guy that hurts me." She giggled and snuggled close to her brother's chest.
"Hmm. You got that right little baby. We won't let anything bad happen to you. I promise you that." John said as he stroked her baby sister's hair until she fell back to sleep. Even giving a small boop on her nose before sleep completely consumed her.
We will always keep you safe.....
Even if we need to hide the truth from you.
