Chapter 8 - SEVEN

Third Person P.O.V

Days passed after the incident where Violet had seen what was behind the smelly door. It was stuck in her mind how the voices echoed throughout the hall. She felt weird, not scared weird but more of an excited weird feeling flowing into her body. Just like the tree in the forest, she was deadly curious as to what could be under their basement.

Thinking long and hard, the little girl decided that she would venture back down and learn more of what was kept inside the metal rooms. The house should be empty or her brothers preoccupied with other tasks so more time would be spent on her exploring the area beneath their house.

That evening, after John had tucked both twins to sleep, he made sure they were both comfortable before turning the lights off and closing the door.

Two hours had passed, Violet got up from her bed slowly while she stared at her twin who was deep asleep in his bed right next to her. Snoring a little with a little bit of tosses and turns assured the girl that her brother was deep asleep.

Tiptoeing towards their bedroom door, she took one last look at her sleeping brother before heading out and made her way towards the basement door. Tiny footsteps can be heard, rushing forward through the empty halls of their house.

Once she was in front of the door, Violet felt a bit of hesitation while holding the doorknob. A small shiver crept up her spine, feeling a stern gaze at the back of her head. It made her look at the kitchen window where the curtain was slightly open.

There's nothing there. Stop being scared and just go down before anyone finds out I'm here.

Shaking off the idea that someone was watching her, she opened the door and crept down the stairs as slowly as she could. Now at the bottom, she noticed that the blood staining the walls had been cleaned. The stench was not there anymore but a strong scent was left that made little Violet's nose itch.

Walking deeper into the brick tunnel. Violet was faced with more metal doors. Some were closed, some were open but empty, and some had multiple locks from the outside.

"Help me."

The whisper Violet heard came from one of the rooms to the far right from where she stood looking at an empty room. She skipped the other doors and now stood in front of the open door where a girl was lying on a metal table where the only source of light was the operating lights focused on the table. Her hair was matted and the makeup on her face smeared all over the place because of her tears.

"Who are you?" Violet stared at the girl who suddenly jerked and looked at where the little girl was.

"Please. Please help me!" the girl whisper-yelled, trying to pull her hands away from her bounds. The action made the metal cut through her skin, and drips of blood started to flow out. Violet walked towards the girl but only stared at her. "You didn't answer my question."

The stern voice of the little girl terrified the woman. A child inside this hellhole? She must be one of them. Those fucking monsters! The woman thought to herself, looking back at the little girl who was now closer than ever looking fascinated at her restraints.

Violet looked back up at the woman's face who now wears a face of both fear and disgust. This made the little girl step away from the metal table.

"You little bitch! You're one of them!", she thrashed around on the metal table starting to feel fear inside her gut that the little girl might do something worse to her. Violet exhibited a small ounce of fear that made the woman smile to herself, thinking that she could use it to her advantage. A possibility that the small girl may be easy to use. Her mannerisms mirrored a bit of fear of being discovered herself.

The woman smiled wide, "H-Help me out and I won't tell your companions that you're here." her voice was sweet but the look in her eyes was crazy. Violet's eyes widened in a bit of shock at her words when she realized that this person would tell her brothers about her.

Violet began to look everywhere around the room for something that could help cut off the woman's restraints. Feeling a sense of relief after looking at the far corner where she saw a cabinet and a surgical trolley full of scalpels and knives. Seeing the large knife, Violet took it and went back to the metal bed.

"Hurry up you little bitch before those monsters see us!" The harsh words uttered by the woman had made a certain snapping sound in Violet's ears that made the little girl stop in her tracks. "Monsters?"

My brothers are not monsters. They love me and never even laid a hand to hurt me even once. They keep me safe and have never forced me to do stuff I don't want to. Violet thought in her little brain. The snapping sound of her sanity more prominent with each millisecond that passed.

Violet's pupils dilated until her eyes were completely black. "They're not monsters.", she responded coldly, staring at the woman's eyes making the other start to sweat in fear. "No. No! That's not what I meant!", the lying woman retorted in defense.

"You said they were monsters.", Violet slowly took a step forward. Her words were cold and venomous.

"My brothers are not monsters. They're not. They're NOT!", Violet screamed, gripping the sharp knife tightly in her little hand. Her eyes, from pure black, slowly started to turn into a light shade of red, making them almost glow in the dimly lit room.

Her scream made the room shake, the cabinets open and close harshly, and the light flickered on top of the two.

Violet's demeanor instantly changed into a darker one. Slowly, she climbed up on the metal table. Directly on top of the woman who was now stunned and couldn't speak from the fear and shock. Straddling the lying woman by her chest causing a grunt of pain from the other.

Violet raised both her hands and held the knife tightly above the woman's face. "No! Please N-", her words cut off as the little girl plunged the knife down into her mouth.

Blood pooled on the woman's neck. The knife split her tongue into two, with the knife also creating a gash in her throat where the blood flowed down to the metal table and then the floor. The first hit made the woman shake and convulse on the table trying to desperately defend herself to no avail, being tied down and all.

Violet tried to pull on the knife making splotchy meat noises then raised it once more aiming for the eyes, plunging it in made the little girl smile wide. Giggling as she stabbed the woman again and again in her face. The sound of a sharp knife and meat being cut filled the room.

The woman's face was unrecognizable after Violet had finished. Satisfied with her actions, the little girl got off the body and dropped the knife on the floor with a loud clink of metal hitting the cold tiles. Raising her nightshirt to wipe off the splatters of blood that got in her face.

After wiping her face she looked at the doorway and stood in fear as a man now watched her in fascination, leaning on his shoulder by the door frame, wearing a surgical mask stained with blood. His blood-red eyes were smiling, evident by how the corners creased as he watched her with adoration.

Violet was about to say something when she felt dizzy and was about to faint on the floor. But instead of a cold floor that would catch her fall, the little girl felt two string arms catch and wrap around her small body.

"Sleep well." Was the last words she heard before falling asleep in the man's arms.
