The storm that poured throughout the kingdom of Ashendar for days finally ended, a new day arrived as the sunshine greeted the land.
Located in the South West of the Ashendar kingdom was the great forest of Fiora. Home of different types of monsters and the hotspot of adventurers. Some were hunting for monsters for materials for their quests, while the others were picking native flowers and herbs that could only be found in Fiora.
However, not all the inhabitants of the forest of Fiora were monsters, there were some human villages scattered around the forest. Where a small group of people was residing. Sometimes they would trade their goods with the adventurers or merchants passing by.
Some offering overnight shelters for the lost adventurers for some currencies.
At the very center of the forest where the well-known Fairy dungeon was located. Adventurers were not allowed to enter the cave system because of how dangerous the place was unless the guild or much more the kingdom ordered them to do so.
The Fairy dungeon, the villages, and the highway to the capital of the kingdom were being connected by a long road that was mainly being used by the adventurers to travel throughout the great forest. Near the Fairy dungeon was the abundance of lakes and rivers which were one of the main sources of life of the great forest.
At the moment, a certain carriage was traveling on its way towards the direction of the Fairy dungeon, the side and top of the carriage were covered with a brown tarpaulin while the back part was open for easier access. 5 persons were riding it, the coachman in front driving the carriage and the 4 adventurers inside.
One of them peeked his head at the back part of the carriage, his black sleepy eyes wandered throughout the place as he snored. The rogue of the party, Randall Elmizer.
"Randall, hurry up, take it."
His attention diverted when someone touched his messy black hair. "Why?"
His eyes darted to the hand that giving him a paper container with cookies inside. The person handing it was wearing a light mithril chest armor, his sharp gazing eyes were darted on Randall. The warrior of the party, Clinton Freacher.
"Don't tell me you baked that, Clinton?"
Clint laugh. "No! Gwen was trying to give it to you, but you ignored her."
Randall turned his gaze to the person next to Clint. "My bad, I didn't have enough sleep that's why I can't focus."
Gwen smiled at him while putting some of her escaped blonde hair at the back of her ears. Her oversized dark purple adventurer robe was covering her black battle skirt. Her dark green-bluish eyes darted at Randall. "Hmmm. Do not mind it. I had a lot of time yesterday so I came up with the idea of making cookies for us."
The mage of the party, Gwendolyn Amarantha.
"I see, I'll eat some then."
Randall removed the adventurer robe he was wearing leaving only his white shirt and his black jeans, and immediately took a bite to the cookie he was holding.
He nodded. "It tastes good, I didn't know that you could bake."
A subtle sigh of relief displayed on Gwen's face. "I have studied about it a few weeks ago."
The person lying at the edge of the carriage at the back of the coachman started to move. She put aside the adventurer robe that she used as a blanket and joined the 3 that currently munching some cookies. She brushed her blonde hair as she crawled towards them. The healer of the party, Amiya Errapel.
"Cookies?"
Gwen handed the container of cookies to her.
"Here, Amiya."
Amiya sat between Gwen and Clint and took a bite at the cookie she was holding. "Thanks, Gwen!"
Randall leaned his back at the edge of the carriage. "It's a good thing that we actually managed to get the quest for Fairy dungeon scouting. The reward was so amazing that everyone was willing to fight for it."
"Then, thanks Princess Gwendolyn, she was the one who spoke to Guild master, Rudwick." Clint points his finger to Gwen.
"Please refrain calling me that, Clinton, when we are adventuring, at this moment I'm not a princess, I'm just a class C adventurer. And besides, your big brother Flint was the one who gave me all the information I used to convince the guild master to give us the quest."
Clint did not answer and just shrugged.
"The perks of being a noble, huh. Sometimes I felt out of place because I'm the only non-noble member of this party. Here I am adventuring for living while with a bunch of people adventuring for fun."
Amiya narrowed her eyes while looking at Randall. "We are adventuring because it is our dream to become adventurers since we were kids. Not for fun, You silly. Putting your life in danger on daily basis is not fun."
"Yes, yes, I understood." Randall stretched his arms. "So, all we need to do is to scout the cave system and report the findings to the guild, right?"
"Yup, just like my big brother said, the Fairy did not hurt the knights with him. As long as we do not do anything stupid like attacking it, we are good to go." Clint replied.
"The guild master's order is to scout the area, no matter what happened do not engage in any battle. If we notice that there is something wrong, we are instructed to immediately leave." Gwen added.
"Did Captain Flint have any say about our quest?"
Gwen, Clint, and Amiya sounded an exaggerated cough and answer him at once. "About that."
His sleepy eyes widen due to a sudden realization. "So he has no idea about it." He covered his face using his hand. "He will be furious once he knew that you tricked him again."
Both Gwen and Clint looked down.
"Only the two of them. Not me. I'm not the one who took advantage of their relationship and royalty standing on Captain Flint." Amiya replied while pointing her fingers to the people beside her.
Randall sighed. "Here we go again."
