He rested his back in his bed while still holding his hand. His eyes were gazing at the ceiling of his room.
"I don't know what to believe in anymore, I'm pretty sure this place is fake, but why it feels real?"
He sat on his bed. "What kind of magic the Catastrophe Boa used in me? Did it really transported me back on Earth, but in a different timeline where my sickness didn't happen?"
He poked his finger in the air as if he was trying to press something. "Even my status bar is gone."
"Gailee? Can you hear me?" He received no response.
He turned his gaze to the computer next to his bed, his eyebrows rose after looking at it for a few seconds.
"Maybe, I should play some game to at least clear my mind a little."
He stood up, pulled the chair in front of his computer, and sat while pushing the button to start it up.
"Ah, the game I was playing before is here. I miss playing this game." He said as he put his black headset on.
The game started and after a few seconds of the loading screen, his mage class character appeared on the screen.
"Lightborne, so my character name is still the same."
He operated his character and wondered around when suddenly, he received a message in his inbox.
(Zetfree: Oy! Go to the guildhall!)
"It's Zetfree, I remember him as my guildmate before." He quickly typed a response to the message.
(Lightborne: Ok.)
His character was immediately transported to the guildhall and found 3 characters hanging out including Zetfree.
His character walked towards them but they were not chatting in the near or guild chat.
(Zetfree: Open your mic!)
"Open my mic?"
(Lightborne: Why?)
(Zetfree: What do you mean why? Open it, idiot! LOL!)
"But, this is the first time I'm going to talk to them." He released a sigh before enabling his microphone to function.
The loud laugh of the people on the other line welcomed him, there were 2 men and a girl with them. The other man was named Darkfox and the girl's voice was coming from the player named Yuuki, both of them were using female characters.
"Oh, he's here. It's a good thing I messaged you to come here."
"I see, thanks for inviting me, Zetfree." His voice was trembling.
"Zetfree? Did he just call me Zetfree?"
What comes next was a loud laugh from the two people with them.
"Oy, oy, Randall, did you hit your head or something? It's been a long time since you called me by my username. Maybe the grinding that we did last night made you lose some brain cells."
His eyes widened. "I... I don't-"
"Dylan, Randall is just messing with you, he's always doing that." The player named Darkfox said as he chuckled. "Ah, by the way, Lightborne, so you know, my name is Jake and the girl right next to you is Maggie, she's my cousin, for some reason she's head over heels to you. It's nice to meet you."
"No, I'm not!" Maggie said with a loud but subtle chuckle in her voice.
"I see." He answered after knowing their names.
"Wow, he is still in character, what's up with that formal tone? Anyway, Randall, before you came, we agreed to hang out this Sunday. We're going to meet exactly 8 in the morning in the usual spot." Dylan announced.
"Where is that spot?"
"What do you mean where is that spot?"
"Randall, don't tell me you're not going? Maggie will be sad if you didn't show up."
"Stop that, Jake."
"You two, stop. So we're expecting you to show up, are you in, Randall? Even if you say no, we'll just gonna pick you up in your house, just like the last time."
For a few seconds, he remained silent while just gazing at his screen.
"Randall, are you still there, buddy? Don't sleep on us." Jake checked him up.
"Yes, I'll go."
He closed his eyes as the loud celebration of the people he was talking to sounded in his ears.
Dylan sounded an exaggerated cough. "And by the way, Don't forget to bring your childhood friend with you."
His eyes widened out of surprise. "My what?"
"That's what you're after!" Jake shouted.
"Boys really are wolves!"
"Shut up, if you bring her with you, I'll treat you all wherever you want. What's her name again? The one with the cute voice."
"Voice?" His hands stopped shaking when a sudden realization occurred.
[Error.]
"Gailee."
"Gailee? I don't remember her name being like that. She once mentioned her name when she's in your room while we're grinding, it's too bad that I didn't hear what she said, but I'm pretty sure it's not Gailee."
"Dylan, it means he doesn't want you to get close to his precious childhood friend," Maggie said while Jake's laugh was audible in the background.
A sudden knock at the door took his attention.
"Yes?"
"Aleli is here." Her mother's voice.
"I'm coming." He turned his gaze to the computer. "I have to go."
"Sure, sure, Randall! Don't forget to bring her! Help your friend on this one."
"I will."
"See ya, Randall."
"Bye-bye!"
He logged out from the game and rushed towards the door to open it.
Standing at the other side of the door was a girl tall enough to level to his chest. Her almond brown eyes were looking upon him while crossing her two hands. Her black hair was tied in a ponytail that greatly complementing her black dress.
And with a voice that was not only familiar with him in this world, but even in another world that he was in a few hours ago, she spoke. "I'll buy something at the mall, wanna come with me?"
"Aleli." His voice was full of pain as he said her name.
Aleli put her hands on her waists. "What happened to you? You look like you've seen a ghost."
He shook his head. "I'll just go change clothes, wait for me downstairs."
Aleli nodded and walked away.
After few minutes, while wearing a casual white T-shirt and red and blue strife shorts, he came downstairs and found Aleli and his mom talking to each other.
Aleli stood up after seeing him. "Let's go."
