Chapter 1 - 1. COLLEGE OVER

I dashed to the restroom without any hesitation. My eyes were always on Dereck Haze but I should have thought it was just an imagination. I and Dereck were classmates from first grade, but honestly the number of times we talked was approximately zero. I believed he was just intimidated by me to not talk but finally I'd discovered the real reason.

The last day of college fell on a Valentine's day. I felt a strong connection between us all these years that I thought he would ask me to be his Valentine. But believe me when I say it was just before my eyes that he gave red roses to some random high school girl.

I looked at the mirror and all my make-up had melted down my cheeks. I heard some knock by the bathroom door asking if I was ok. That voice sounded like Miriam and Florence. "Why are your swimming in your own tears?", asked Miriam. "Is it Dereck? I've always known he's a good for nothing, "said Florence. It's not his fault, I never confessed any way. Then I asked them to take me home. "You sure you wanna leave this soon?" Miriam asked. "I mean ..darrh...why get your mood ruined?", Florence added. I gotta recuperate from all this, partying is not my thing anyway. I said so whilst standing up from the rest room floor.

So there I was walking towards Miriam's car when someone shouted my name out loud. It was Ethan, my right hand, my Angel Gabriel and my forever trustworthy best friend. He was always there for me when I needed him. "Before you say anything, I'll drive you home, Mimi and Flen stay here, everything will be fine, I'll handle it," It's like he knew my situation before I even told him. "You don't need to, Mimi can take me," I said.

"No suggestions ok!", he said worryingly.
