Aether picked up the book and found a tier 4 spell base
"Hmm... So i found a tier 4 spell base that contains 128 slots for spell properities... I guess i will use water as the base element... Attack type... Then i will use the... Uhh, ray property?" Then Linas found the description of the ray property "A beam of increadibly fast spinning element"..."Hmmm... So that's basically a laser beam... I guess that's good enough... And for the fun let's add a property that turns the single beam into a lot of beams... I will also add the Splitting property... And make it bigger, how many times?.. Ehh, i think five times will be good enough...."
*Half an hour later*
What Aether didn't notice was that all of his classmates were looking at him at how carelessly he chose the properities not needing to even think about mana consumption
The teacher's voice rang out once again "When you decide what kind of spell properties to use you can start drawing your magic circle on paper"
"Wait... What if I make it with two elements..."
As Aether was drawing the spell base on paper he decided to try and make the spell dual element
Aether took the tier 4 spell base again, cut it in half and extended it and redrew it into the shape of an oval
Then he wrote all the runes that are supost to be on the tier 4 spell base onto his new tier 4 dual element spell base
Aether wrote all of his chosen water ray spell properties and repeated the same in the other side with the fire element
Then Aether "Compiled" the spell and wrote the incantation near the spell circle.
*Some more time later*
"Okay, I hope you all finished already and are ready to test your spells out"
The teacher once again teleported everybody into the classroom in the courtyard
Everybody walked to a place with more space
"Jim, you will show us your spell first"
"Ahh, ok" Jim came out of the crowd, raised his hand and chanted his spell incantation 'akluk seingu'
A very high speed bullet of fire shot out of his palm
Jim was of course overjoyed even though a lot of students and other people have made very similar or even the same spells
When everybody was finished the teacher called out once again
"Now we will have the finishing spell from Aether"
Aether came onto the "stage" and held out his hands
Aether chanted 'Rays of fire and water' and the rays of fire and water shot out all around him into a spot about a kilometer away
And then, there was explosion.
A very large explosion.
Colors were flashing. If They weren't a kilometer away some of the students surely would've gotten blown away by the shockwave
Everybody who looked at Aether couldn't believe he made a dual element spell
Even the teacher was breathless. The first person to make a dual element spell is a 16 year old and he did it in less then an hour
'You know, you should try true magic some time later...' Stella thought out loud
'Define true magic'
'Magic that doesn't require a magic circle to use'
'How is it better?'
'It's a lot more versatile but a lot harder to use' Stella sighed 'It also uses a little more mana'
'So basically magic with circles is the more refined version'
'Yeah you could say so'
*Magic item making lesson*
"Good afternoon my dear students i hope you are all well"
The teacher was a man in his mid fifties with dark gray hair and brown eyes, he was quite short and was wearing a brown coat and a scarf with brown and dark red squares
"You probably noticed Aether already, he is here because he was removed from the spellcasting lessons"
Whispers immediatelly broke out
"And before any of you think of anything wrong, he was removed because in the very first lesson he created a dual tier 4 dual element spell base and a tier 4 dual element spell"
The whispers stopped and a synchronised gasp resounded trough the classroom
Then everyone looked at Aether with shining eyes as if they were expecting something from him
Aether shook his head "Don't expect me to teach you anything, I don't want to take up the role of a teacher"
The students pouted slightly
'Why do they look like small children that just asked to go to an amusement park but got declined...'
Aether waved his hand as if shooing them and looked away
"Anyways, this is Aether, you can talk to him, but only after my class!" The teacher's voice got stern
The whispers silenced
"Mr. Brown is my name, if you have any questions" Mr. Brown's voice turned warm again
"Yes sir"
"Well boys and girls it's time for the first magic item making lesson" The teacher tried to hide his exitement and almost succeeded since Aether was the only one who noticed
"As you might already know when you activate a magic item, let's say a shield ring, you insert your mana into it and it makes a shielding barier on usually the front of the user"
"It uses the coordinates of the user's face or torso to know exacly where the shield's suppost to be"
"However the process that happens inside of the ring is a lot more complicated and that's why there's such a small amount of talented magismiths"
"The process happening inside of the ring is mana comes in, then depending on what type of shield ring it is it in either way travels into the shield making component, or the activation component that then takes mana from the mana reserves and makes a shield"
"The latter is more complicated but it gives the benefit of practically instant shield charge up time since the user doesn't need to charge it up with mana"
Mr. Brown picked up a matt blueish silver coloured ring and showed it to the students
"This is the ring that I am going to turn into the shield ring now"
"As you can see it is made from manasteel, the easiest to obtain metal that is highly mana conductive, since it's just normal steel infused with a lot of mana"
The teacher then snapped his finger and the seats the students were sitting on started moving until it took the shape of a circle around the teacher's desk
"I am going to start the magic item making"
