Mr. Brown started by drawing a 15 centimeter wide magic circle out of mercury
Aether tried making out the runes but only managed to read the utility property and the mana accumulation property that is used for spells if you want to have diffrent strenght depending on how much mana you put in
"If any of you are trying to read out the runes ask me to give a sheet later"
The teacher then placed the ring in the middle of the spell circle and placed his hands on either side
The runes then started lighting up and rising in the air together with the ring
Some of the students looked at the process with narrowed eyes saying 'y liquid float?'
Aether then asked Stella 'Can you tell me a way to see the mana flow more easily?'
'Yeah, just infuse your eyes with mana until you start seeing it'
Aether did as Stella said and poured mana into his eyes until the world started turning greyscale for him and looked around
The students looked like large mana tanks with a coloured flame shaped mana core in the middle of their torso
The magic circle was glowing grey as it was an elementless circle
Mr. Brown started explaining again "This is the first step, you can see I made this spell circle to freeze any unwanted mana fluctuations in the aeria of effect"
"The second step is to make the mana reserve and the mana trigger"
Aether started seeing a a ball of quickly revolving mana and a satelite dish shape
"The third step is to make the shield generator"
An electromagnetic coil shape appeared
"And the fourth step is to make the circuit and the wiring"
A messy ball of strings with more strings that extended out of the ball appeared, and the extending strings connected to the other components
"The final step is to stabilise the mana and components inside the ring"
Mr. Brown picked up a tiny hammer and infused it with mana
"This is the branding hammer that is used to prevent any unnescesary mana loss and fluctuations"
"When you make yourself a branding hammer you have to make sure the runes that it brands on the magic item are strong enough for the item you are making"
"Of course most magismiths make branding hammers with their signature too"
Mr. Brown hit the ring with the hammer and some runes got engraved
"This is the first grade stabilisation rune that is used for first tier magic items"
The magic circle surrounding the ring deactivated and all of the mercury turned back into a liquid and fell on the table
Mr. Brown then snapped his finger and some wind rotated into the shape of a bowl around the mercury and picked it up then the teacher guided it with his finger into the jar and closed the lid
"If any of you forgot, the mercury fumes are poisonous, so remember to clean it after you're done"
Mr. Brown snapped his fingers again and the classroom went back to normal
"If any of you are willing to be the first one to try out"
The whole class was silent
Exept of Aether of course
"Well then come here young lad" Mr. Brown was exited on what Aether could make and snapped his fingers again so the whole classroom would turn into the stadium shape again
"I have an idea in mind but could you give me a book about the existing components so i could max out the efficiency before starting" Aether wasn't going to beat around the bush
"Of course!" Mr. Brown's way of treating Aether as if he was the biggest treasure was becoming clearer and clearer every sentence they spoke
The teacher handed a 1-3 tier magic item component book to Aether
Aether quickly flipped the whole book and memorised the components that he was going to implement
Once he chose them he carefuly thought about where, what and how every component is going to be
When Aether finished compiling everything he picked up a manasteel ring that was placed on the table and infused it with monstous amounts of mana until it became matt silverish purple
'Bruh, you just made elementium' Stella was holding in her laughter and spoke mockingly but with a bit of proudness in her voice
'I'm guessing it's some ultra rare type of ultra mana conductive metal'
'Yeah, you could call it that, in truth it's actually really difficult to obtain since it's the second tier out of three of the highly mana conductive metal'
'You possibly could make terasteel too but it would take up a lot more of your time and you would need to recharge your mana reserve about thrice with your curent mana capacity'
The whole classroom was once again with their mouths' wide open and Aether was getting tired of it
Aether then picked out the third tier mana stabilising magic circle and drew it with mercury
This time the circle was about a meter and a half wide and had three layers instead of a single one
As he placed his hands on the table the runes lit up and the whole thing rose up in the air
"Aether, you aren't serious about this are you?" Mr. Brown got nervous "If you fail this every student in this classroom is going to die" Every student in the classroom tensed up
"And I'm doing this because I am 80 percent sure it's going to succeed"
"You know 80 percent is not enough?!"
The teacher was getting kinda scared now
Aether chanted 'Barrier of the third tier' and a third tier barrier appeared around him and the table "Happy now?"
Mr. Brown got a little relieved but was still woried about his favorite student's live
When they stopped speaking each of the rings slowly started rotating on a diffrent axis
The first thing Aether did was making the basic tier mana switch, the second thing he made were two third tier ambient mana absorbers and after some thinking he chanted 'Unending overclock' and tiny tier four circles appeared around each of the mana absorbers
