Chapter 4 - First spellcasting lesson

As the first lesson beggun Aether sat in the last row in the seat closest to the window.

A woman with a milf figure with a brown ponytail walked into the classroom

"Good morning students... I will be your teacher this year and I will teach you magic theory and how to use it"

"So I guess the lesson starts then... Is everyone here?"

The teacher then checked if all of the students were present and started the class. Of course the only one missing was Leah.

"So you all probably know that mana is the fuel of magic and spells. For a long time magic in this world magic and spells were just a myth... Or so the people thought... After a lot of searching and discovery they found manuscripts from the medieval times when magic was thought to exist and alchemy was a thing"

"The scripts contained texts about the basic research of magic that after all this time at the year of 2234 was realised to acctually be real"

"It was also found out that by using certain spells or fusing your basic domestic and nondomestic animals magical beasts can be created"

"After making the beasts some escaped and some were released and took over the places from the animals they were before..."

"Yes handsome boy in the back?" Aether surprised many when they saw Aether raising his hand since everyone thought he wasn't listening but the teacher very well knew that the stronger students had keener senses and when it seemed like they didn't care they acctually heard and saw everything.

The only ones that didn't care were the one's that missed the noble kids that didn't need the information because of their families or the ones that simply thought they were on the top of the world for unexplainable reasons.

"Can they be turned back?"

"Yes sure, if you find a way and a reason, the thing is think about chickens, the 150 centimeter tall domestic beasts that lay eggs that we eat. They produce 50 eggs for a kilogram of feed. At older times they produced an egg for a hundred grams. So nowadays a chicken is five times more efficient" She raised her hand and showed 5 fingers "So if you can find a way and a reason, yes you can"

Aether nodded in acknowlegement

'Well i guess learning and using magic will be a lot more fun then i thought'

'Well of course idiot'

'You know, you can't call me idiot just because i can't hit you'

Stella laughed silently with a smug grin

*An hour later*

"Well now that i have explained the basic theory let's go outside to try and cast some magic"

The teacher then clicked a button under the table and everyone teleported to a location that looked exacly the same as the other classroom but you could see the lush grass and sparse trees trough the windows.

Aether and the others stepped outside and realised the school is nowhere to be seen

"This is the school yard, yes the yard is huge, don't ask questions" The teacher was already used to questions and confusions on this topic "Ok, you small boy in the front" she pointed at an extremely nervous looking boy with blonde hair "Come over here"

"O-ok" He stuttered and came over

"Hold out your hand in front, guide your mana into your palm and chant 'Ball of fire'. Also expect some recoil"

"Ok" The boy walked away from the crowd and stood in the position the teacher explained

'Ball of fire!' The boy shouted and a ball of fire the size of a volleyball flew from his hand

The boy looked at the smiling teacher and the crowd with eyes of disbelief

"How did you know I had manifested the fire element?"

"I also know that your name is Jim and that you come from a poor family but have high aptitude for fire magic" The teacher shook her head "I've read all of your files, I know everything about you that the government does too"

Some surprised and annoyed whispers resounded

"Well this was a basic stage spell with only five parameters" The teacher started talking again "The fire element parameter, the attack type parameter, the ball parameter, the forward force parameter and the size parameter" The teacher shruged "Also you can say it doesn't have the attack parameter, since that is included in the spell base"

"If you would change one of these you could upgrade it to a tier 1 spell, and if you changed all of the parameters to tier 1 but added another of tier 2 it would classify as a tier 2 spell"

'Hey stel... How can I evolve my elements'

'Well it's really hard to do, it shouldn't be a problem for you though... So basically you need to use an element and try to make it into the evolved one, and at some point a certain mental barrier will crack and you will be able to use let's say the fire and the lava element instead of the basic fire'

'Hmmmm... Thanks. I thought it would be a lot harder though'

Aether raised his hand again "Can you let me try a tier 1 spell?"

"Everything for you handsome quadelementalist 220 IQ insane mana reserve and insane superhuman strenght boy" She chuckled and gave him a paper with the incantation.

Everyone was dumbfounded. How did the boy from the rumors end up in their class

'Rain of balls of fire' Aether chanted as a rain of volleyball sized fireballs fell from the sky

"Hmm... Used up about half a percent of my mana"

Everyone stared at him, yep just stared, nothing else

"A whole half a percent? a tier one spell takes me multiple times less..." The teacher tried to flex in front of everyone while at the same time being quite proud

"The basic tier spell used up about 5 percent of my mana reserves... Could I possibly try the tier 1 spell too?" Jim said exitedly

"Yeah, you probably could but that would come with a lot of problems as it would take you at least 20 percent of your mana and you would have to deal with symptoms of rapid mana depletion" (yes that's a thing now)

"Ahh ok..." Jim was suddenly faced with unexpected conditions
