Chapter 3 - Trials of survival part 1-extended

"Dungeon?" He couldn't remember where he had gotten the exact word from but as foreign as it sounded to him, it felt that it was the apt word to describe his current predicament. He gathered his strength and stood up, noticing that the torches that lit the room were still a foot or two above his line of sight, and he could see up to an average height of 5 feet. So he could say for certain that this was built for a creature with a build similar to that of a tall human, an average height of 6'0 up to 6'2 feet based on the creatures back posture.

The race of the creature must be some what primitive when compared to the technological era where he had come from. The architecture was similar to that of human hunters, like the tribes in Africa, or that of native America.(Might need a fact check on this.)

So these were well developed creatures, definitely not a primate, brainless species of monsters. Basic building skills, so there is a high chance of an entire village, so he can't just randomly leave.

A grimace spread across his face as his eyes drifted to the floor ass he was deeply in thought. On the floor, Adam could see a pair of large dark-red colored feet; each one matched with five grotesque toenails covered with quite a lot of filth and dirt.

These eggs varied in size, but they were at least the size of ostrich eggs. Their colors were different as well, having green, red, and even the occasional black. The only similarity was that the warm and humid condition of the 'hatchery' gave the eggs a suitable environment to incubate. 'Where did these eggs come from?' He couldn't help but think to himself.

The intensity of each wave was not regular. They were large and small at times, causing some eggs to be pushed further onto the beach while some were scattered around the edge.

There was a differences in the speed of these eggs hatching. Adam could see many eggs moving and shaking in the higher temperature closer to the furnace heating up the room, with the eggs farther away from the furnace

Luck played a vital yet cruel role in this survival of the eggs here. In fact, the eggs closer to the furnace had already hatched like him. Adam saw some of the eggs collide with each other and shatter before they could even hatch, causing the liquid in these shattered eggs to flow onto the floor.

'So fact check. An average racial adult height is 6'1 on an average, human build, but definitely has an well endowed physique, maybe similar to that of a body-builder based on the rather huge door .Based on the club on the wall, I can say for certain that the entire species has intelligence of a tribal species, so them being brainless is impossible. I know they are monsters, so they are definitely stronger than a small, untrained child like me. Since there are so many eggs, he can say that this is an hatchery, and for sure can guarantee that he is currently smack-dab, in the center of a monster settlement. Based on the cracking sound, there will soon be a lot of monsters hatching, and he can't say for sue whether they were of the same species.'

Adam still needed a lot more information, because what he had right now can't guarantee his survival, something he needed right now, and he had no clue on whether there would be a 3rd time where he is sent to be reborn. But suddenly, an urge came over Adam, turning him somewhat 'beast-like', forcing him to lick the liquid on the floor. A sudden glow surrounded him as previously non-existent strength found it's way into nourishing the young Kijin's body.

[Congratulations to the host for unlocking the DNA-system. Every monster/demon that is killed has it's own chance of dropping a part of their genetics, allowing the host to gain the attributes of the creatures killed. The chance of dropping parts is increased by the difference in the host's strength with the target]

Adam could not help but silently rejoice as he quickly rushed out to break more eggs. The creatures that hatched were mostly similar to him, except for their different coloured skin and their more monster like features as when compared to his pale skin.

Adam couldn't help but have bad feeling as he noticed more and more baby orcs around him, each one fighting each other to devour their opponent. He also couldn't help but start to fight as he crushed the other orcs and devoured them, each bite making him grow stronger, but soon he noticed that he was not the only one getting stronger.

At this moment, he couldn't help but notice a shining orb at the corner of his vision.

Adam: -"What's this?"
