Chapter 6 - The trials of Survival Final

The last few genomes were different from the others he had consumed before. It had a brighter glow and an purplish tint to it. It also pulsed and fizzed around like a dragonfly. He looked at and saw that the system was not closing, and the notice of the Aura skill still remained the same.

"Could it be...

The notice that the 'skill can be evolved' he got seemed to be more like an hyperlink, like it asked him for permission to evolve the AURA skill. Who in the hell would deny that? And right after clicking on it, the entire room burst into a flare of light blinding every orc inside once again.

Soon the glow from the spheres shimmered and turned into a light purple hue. He looked at it greedily and consumed it as soon as he could. Suddenly a huge amount of pressure nearly killed most of the babies in the room, with the Albino Orc being the only survivor. It was clearly a male and could barely resist. It's previous look of dominance was gone and replaced by a new look of reverence and respect.

Suddenly a wild figure popped out of nowhere. The man wore a leather robe, his face blocked by a dark hood made of a boars head. His neck was adorned by a huge bone necklace with a bunch of orc tusks on it. What is with the Orc and why is he here.

"W- Wh" Before Adam could speak, the Orc rushed out and slammed Adam's neck heavily, knocking out the poor Kijin. The albino orc first looked like it wanted to fight, but upon seeing the necklace, he calmed down and let the orc carry him as he fidgeted with the Orc's necklace.

"Finally, our lord has been reborn. The legends were true when they spoke of a young Albino variant of our species containing powers and the talent of the orc god Gruumsh is true. A being born with talents beyond comprehension. Using that much aura right after being born? He is bound to be the strongest orc ever. The Kijin is also similarly talented, although inherently weaker than our race, but as a Kijin, he has very high potential, even if when compared to higher order orcs when they were children. He faced the aura of the Orc god's reincarnation alone and lived, when even teenager orcs at the peak of rank 2 are bound to faint after that pressure. The Kijin must have been selected as the guardian of the albino orc. this is god's written destiny right?"

The Orc had a misconception regarding the power of Adam, but Adam had no clear way to respond and clear the misconception since he was knocked out.

"Huh? Where am I?!" Adam's confusion grew as he lifted his feet, assessing himself. He was still the same Kijin as he was before, although a little taller and stronger physically and mentally. He turned his attention to his body, noting that his entire body was covered in a layer of bandage like material. It clung desperately to his bones, as his lean figure which has obviously suffered from extreme malnourishment didn't have much muscle on it.

He could clearly remember his indifference to the mutilated bloody bodies of the innocent orc babies, their dull eyes that turned restless right before their death. He couldn't help but shudder in thought as he realized the seriousness of this issue of his. He coldly murdered and was now a cannibal. Before, he was in a situation of life and death, so he hadn't really noticed, but now that he was alone with own thoughts, he couldn't help but confront the rules he had broken.

A minute of thinking later, he finally reasoned with himself. "I am no longer in a modern society where every single action of yours are limited by rules. This is a dog eat dog world, and every single shot at survival must be taken without an excuse. Because I want to live, I must be able to defeat any threats, and my system would definitely help me.

He rubbed his hand along his chest, feeling the bones pressing against his sore muscles as if they were trying to escape his body. His hand continued up to his head, pressing against his scalp as the last of his headache subsided. Too much thinking is injurious to health.

"System?. Could you please give me a status check?"

[Yes, I can]

The system cold voice helped him realize that this was no longer a dream. He was now a orc variant, for until god knows how long. And if he died, it's definitely possible that there is no other possible chance of saving his life and just getting reborn. So he has to stay alive for as long as he can, hoping that he can peacefully go back to his world and live out a peaceful life,

While he contemplated about his goals and plan of action, a familiar light blue screen appeared before him, ending with him fawning as he marveled at the huge growth in his stats.

"No fucking way..."

I'm sorry for the late chapter, I'm writing in dim light so I guess it takes time to write. Anyway, please tell me if I need to improve something or if you have any doubts. Thank you goodbye.
