Chapter 22 - Kidnapped [2]

Just as the car drove off in the distance, Yi Han stepped out of the store with two bottles of warm water in hand. He looked around in surprise when he didn't see Yan Nuan standing anymore.

"Bro Yan?"

Silence.

He immediately panicked and dropped the bottle onto the bench. He pulled out his phone and immediately dialed Yan Nuan's number. The phone began to ring and it was then Yi Han noticed her phone lying on the floor on the street. It fell when Yan Nuan was being dragged into the car. He picked up the phone. Afterwards, he ran into the store to check if he had entered without his knowledge. But, he wasn't in the store. Just as he walked back outside, a man walked into the store. He was a bit older but with a lanky figure. He was putting on a blue shirt and his windbreaker blew slightly as he walked past Yi Han. Yi Han pulled out his phone the moment he stepped out and dialed a number.

"Bro Ming, Bro Yan is missing. Do you have that Yan Jing's number? Call him and inform him. I'll head over to their house."

The person on the other end of the receiver seemed surprised. "Missing?"

"Yeah. He was here with me a few minutes ago and I just can't find him anymore."

"Okay. Will do."

The call disconnected and Yi Han immediately headed over to the Yan villa.

****************************************************

Yan Nuan lay in silence for a few hours feeling and hearing movement around her. Although, the drug she sniffed had worn out a little, she still was unable to lift her body. She was thankful she had already finished the basic part of her Soul building in her past life, otherwise, she would have also lost consciousness. From her intuition, she seemed to be in a dark room. She was lying on a thick, spongy fabric. Probably, a rug. Her legs and arms were tied but her mouth wasn't stuffed. She was probably in a room where the kidnappers were sure no one would hear her even if she shouted. She could also hear some distinct movement. Hushed voices of people and thumping of shoes near her. There were probably people talking outside the door. From a distance, she could hear echo and the grounds seemed to shake constantly.

A group of people walked past the door once more and she could hear one of them say, "I only came to this match for Fighting Tiger. Although, the Hyena is renowned in Italy, Fighting Tiger is very adept at fighting."

Someone else replied, "I was merely curious so I came to watch. Isn't Fighting Tiger very reclusive. Why would he come to such an underground wrestling ground?"

"Who knows. I heard they hired him for today to fight the Hyena. Maybe, we'll see his face today. He's always wearing a mask. One can't even recognize him..."

Yan Nuan couldn't hear anymore as their voices progressed into the distance. Her mind stiffened. So, she was in an underground wrestling ground? Could it be she was being kept in a private room outsiders couldn't access?

She was still thinking when the door was opened and she could hear movement as though someone was entering. Afterwards, a male voice was heard.

"Splash him with water. It's about time we get everything over with."

Just a moment later, she was doused in water and Yan Nuan could feel the effects of the drug totally diffusing. She opened her eyes and was instantly met with the figures of three men. A man stood in the forefront and his deep set eyes were fixed upon her. She was pulled up to her butt and she sat on the floor. She looked up and could finally see the man clearly. He was a well built man. Tall and straight. However, it was something else that attracted Yan Nuan to look at him even more intently. There was a strange sense of hostility oozing from him and his face was cold and stiff as though someone was owing him money.

He looked at her silently, his expression still cold/ However, Yan Nuan sensed that the light in his gaze seemed to be that of surprise. He muttered, "You're actually so young?"

Yan Nuan was taken aback. Didn't he recognize her? Then, why was she kidnapped?

He continued. "I didn't expect you to be so young after pulling off your mask."

Yan Nuan kept her eyes fixed on him and crossed her legs calmly. Although, he looked so scary, she didn't panic. What kind of people has she not seen? She asked, deliberating trying to thicken her voice. "Who are you?"

He immediately narrowed his eyes. "You sound weird. You have a cold?"

Yan Nuan didn't reply. She was trying to make her voice sound even more thick.

One of his subordinates brought him a chair and he took a seat. He crossed his legs and folded his arms, his gaze broody as he said to her. "I heard you rejected our offer." He didn't wait for her to reply before saying, "Actually, it would have been better for both of us, if you had accepted. I wouldn't have to take drastic measures. Fighting Tiger, I admire your fighting spirit but you are being too difficult."

Yan Nuan raised an eyebrow. Fighting Tiger?

She immediately remembered what the two men walking past earlier had said. They had invited a fighter called Fighting Tiger. Could it be that she had been mistaken as Fighting Tiger?

He beckoned to one of his subordinates and the man brought him an envelope. He collected it and brought out a stack of photographs. His lips were curled into a devious smile as he stretched out the photographs to her. "Don't you know who these people are?"

Yan Nuan looked at the photograph and saw two unfamiliar females; an old woman and a young girl. She guessed they were somehow related to the fighting tiger that was mentioned earlier.

She wrinkled her nose and decided to come clean. "I'm not…"

"Don't try to wiggle your way out. That is your grandmother and younger sister, correct?"

Yan Nuan narrowed her eyes instantly. This person… although he was the leader of an underground wrestling ground, his words and manner of speaking were elegant. He also didn't look like a ruffian but rather an arrogant young master. It made it even harder for her to play mind tricks with him.
