Chapter 24 - Unknown

Orchard Night Bar

The atmosphere in the private booth was mildly tense as they watched him sit down with a solemn expression. With such a cold expression, he immediately stood out in such an environment full of life and excitement. It was as though he wasn't in the bar to relax but rather to pick a fight.

He reached out to grab a glass of wine from the table and leaned back silently. His cold gaze scanned through everyone seated leisurely, its sharpness giving off an oppressive vibe. He retracted his gaze and calmly sipped his wine.

One of the men seated around the booth laughed awkwardly, "Brother Xi, you came…"

"Yeah," Si Xi replied. His voice contained an hint of richness and elegance as her spoke. However, there was a mildly noticeable sense of sorrow in it as he continued, "I heard you found leads on the terrorist group."

"Oh. It's Brother Min who found some things on them."

Everyone instantly turned to the person in question. Hua Min sat up straight immediately and dropped her wine glass on the table. Afterwards, he pulled out a folder from his bag and passed it to Si Xi.

"Brother Xi, this issue seems to be even more complicated than we thought. I got news from a reliable source that there is an underground club in Gwangladan. The terrorists seem to have some relations with them."

Si Xi instantly unfolded his legs and his eyes narrowed. He glanced at Hua Min. "Who is the owner of the underground club."

"A man called Han Xiao."

Si Xi subconsciously frowned upon hearing that name. "The illegitimate son of the Han family in the capital?"

Hua Min instantly asked excitedly, "You know him?"

"No. I've only heard of him," he replied as he continued to browse through the folder in his hands.

"What does the underground club have to do with Han Xiao?"

"When Han Xiao returned to the Han family, he wasn't fully accepted into the family. He wasn't as outstanding as his half-brothers who run countless businesses. Moreover, he was an illegitimate child. Within the five years he returned to the Han family, he encountered countless problems and was mentally scarred. He who wasn't used to the aristocratic life was constantly schemed against. Apparently, he met a man a year ago who lent him a hand. Han Xiao suddenly became the owner of the club."

"But, he doesn't seem to be someone who can lead a wrestling club."

Si Xi instantly gave a crude smile upon hearing that. He dropped the folder and replied,

"If you were on the verge of dying from thirst and someone suddenly gives you a bottle of water, what will you do? You will hold onto it and make sure that bit of water never finishes."

The other men stared at him in confusion. What does that have to do with what we're talking about?

Si Xi shook his head speechlessly and clarified, "What I mean is that the club is his only means of survival. For someone like him who has nothing else, of course, he would hold onto it tightly with any methods he has."

The other men shook their heads positively, finally seeing the light.

Si Xi continued, "Do you have any picture of the man who helped him?"

Hua Min shook his head lightly. "The only one I have is from a hidden CCTV where they met. However, only the man's back figure could be seen."

"Let me see it."

Hua Min brought out a photograph from his pocket and handed it over to Si Xi. He collected it and stared at it for some time in silence, leaving the other men in suspense.

After some time, he looked up and said resolutely, "He's Japanese."

"Japanese?" the other men exclaimed in surprise.

Si Xi nodded. He pointed at the man's fingers. "See. His index and middle finger are very close. It's a subconscious action. This shows that he's someone who practices at least four days a week. Probably, a shuriken master."

One of the man frowned. "It could be due to frequent holing of cigarette."

Si Xi shook his head. "No. An addicted smoker's fingers would be slightly bent. His fingers are straight." He went on. "In this modern times, there are lesser people who knows how to use shuriken.

There is also a possibility that the person is a descendant of a family who inherited the Twisting Shuriken Art. Look at his legs. The right one is slightly limp."

He turned to the man sitting across him. "Ah Ming, take this photo to Dr. Liuren and let her run an identity test in it. The person we're looking for should be around forty years and has a slightly limp right leg. Also, he should be someone from an ancient family and uses shuriken frequently."

Chu Ming immediately collected the photograph and stood up. "Alright. I'll go immediately."

"Okay," Si Xi replied before asking. "Is there anything else?"

"Yes. But, I don't think it's relevant."

"What's it?"

"There is going to be a fight in the club tonight. It seems it's going to be a very tough fight."

"But that doesn't have anything to do with the case. It's not as though we are going to raid them."

Si Xi stood up calmly, his lips curling cruelly. "Let's raid them."

The other men looked at him speechlessly. Could it be that the captain has forgotten that we've been suspended from the secret agent team?

One of them couldn't help but say, "Brother Xi, we were specially ordered to lay low and only prioritize looking for the terrorist organization."

Si Xi replied as a matter of fact. "I know. Don't worry. I have a feeling we'll find what we're looking for there. If anything goes wrong, I'll take responsibility. Also, only Ah Jin is coming with me. Don't drink too much."

His expression was full of confidence on the surface. But, in a place where none of them could see, his fingers were tightly clenched and his knuckles were white. He turned around and walked out of the booth.

His comrades stared at his retreating figure solemnly. He looked so lonely and desolate that it made their hearts clench. After all, they knew what kind of person he was before that incident. He was vibrant and even though he was captain, he was the youngest amongst them all. They also knew that he cared about his comrades a lot. He was the one who took Brother Yu's death the most. Not only were they comrades in the same forces, they were sworn brothers who spent their youths together.

Their eyes moistened and their resolve was even more unshakeable. They would definitely make sure to avenge Brother Yu and find the culprits responsible for his death.
