Chapter 23 - HER EXISTENCE-3

IN AN UNKNOWN PLACE.

Cara found herself alone with Layla in an unknown place and looked around to find Sedna but found nothing but white cloud-like smoke everywhere.

White cloud-like smoke filled the entire area even on the ground they were standing making it difficult for her to find anything.

"Where is Sedna?" Cara asked Layla when she saw that the latter was calm and not bothered by Sedna's absence.

Layla glanced at Cara from the corner of her eye lazily and waved her hand, "Don't worry, She is safe and will be here soon. She is just taking a longer route to come here."

"Longer route? Then why are we here so fast?" Cara asked Layla with a frown.

"That's because, you, my dear, didn't believe me earlier on, remember? I brought you here to make you believe me." Layla said with a small sarcastic smile dancing on her lips.

" And how are you going to do that?" Cara questioned with a raised brow as she looked at Layla before her.

"That's easy! You see the smoke here? It has traces of your so-called lover's core in them. Just blast it with your venom and you can see the result yourself." Layla said making Cara turn towards her.

"My venom?" Cara asked with doubt.

"Yes, yours! Shift to your serpent form and do it!" Layla said and Cara nodded her head.

Cara closed her eyes and took a deep breath and after a few seconds, she opened them slowly.

Layla smiled watching Cara's hair turn golden black and her lower body turned into a golden serpent form. Cara's eyes completely turned into a bright golden color as she looked at the smoke before her.

She opened her mouth and released a dark blue-colored venom from her mouth. It spilled on the tuft of white clouds before her and turned them into dark blue.

"Now, Blast them with your fire," Layla said from the side.

Cara nodded her head and breathed out fire from her mouth on them and soon the tuft of venom-filled clouds exploded into pieces spreading out the venom to the surroundings.

"That's where you were killed." Cara heard Layla speak and turned towards her only to find Layla raising her dark hand and pointing her finger towards a spot where the clouds were cleared.

Cara felt a tremendous pain in her heart as if it was being squeezed painfully as she walked towards the spot. Tears unknowingly left her golden eyes as strange scenes flashed before her eyes.

She held her hand up and rubbed her chest trying to soothe the pain but it only increased with every step she took towards the spot.

["Gabriel!!! Plea..... Please!! I...I...can't breathe!!"]

[He...Help...!!!]

[Make them s...stop!!!]

"No!! Stop!! It's not true!!" Cara screamed and covered her ears not wanting to hear any more of those strange voices but failed in stopping them. Tears streamed down from her eyes continuously with no signs of stopping.

She then turned to Layla and pleaded, "Make it stop. Please!!" as tears continued flowing from those beautiful golden eyes of hers.

"There's nothing I can do. Those were your own decisions. Just bear with it." Layla said softly looking at Cara.

"After all, even I was once stupid in love," Layla whispered under her breath lost in her thoughts.

"Welcome, my lady!" Sedna was greeted by a handsome merman as soon as she entered the white door. The merman before her has sharp features and a pair of greenish blue-colored eyes that he almost looked like a male idol. His yellowtail has orange-colored scales scattered here and there, giving him an attractive cool vibe.

[Gosh!! He's so hot!]

Sedna cleared her throat and looked at the handsome merman with a frown.

"My lady, I am Triton. The whole kingdom of Assyria humbly welcomes you, my lady." Triton, the handsome merman said with a smile.

Sedna felt her heart skip a bit as she heard the name Assyria.

"Assyria" Sedna whispered as her eyes turned into a darker shade of blue. She looked at Triton and asked, "Do you know me?"

Triton smiled at her and said, "My lady, everyone in Assyria knows you."

"Where is it? This Assyria? And where are the others?" Sedna asked again making Triton frown slightly.

"I was the only one left, my lady," Triton answered with a sad smile.

"What do you mean? Where are the others?" Sedna asked with a frown.

"I don't know, my lady. I was trapped here for a very long time. And one day, the entire kingdom collapsed all of a sudden, and many of our people died. The rest waited for a very long time and eventually went away to fend themselves."

"Then why didn't you leave?"

"I am the keeper of Assyria, my lady. I couldn't bring myself to leave the kingdom even after it is reduced to ashes." Triton said with a small smile.

Sedna looked around at the remains of the collapsed kingdom and sighed as she felt a dull pain in her heart.

"Will you come with me?" Sedna asked suddenly as she faced Triton, she looked at him for a second and then continued, "I have many questions for you and I don't know how, but I promise to help you find the others."

Triton looked at her with a bright smile that almost made her blind and asked excitedly, "Really!"

Sedna nodded her head and said, "I am not in my physical form so, do you know how to go to the surface?"

Triton nodded his head and answered, "I know that this is your spiritual form, my lady. Just tell me the place on the surface. I can come by myself."

"Then come to Aruba mystics in the Maldives. I will come and find you there!" Sedna said with a smile and Triton bowed and thanked her.

"Close your eyes, my lady. You will reach your next destination after you open your eyes." Triton said.

"See you then, Triton." Sedna smiled and closed her eyes. She then opened them slowly and found herself back in front of the white door.

"Let's see, what's in there this time." Sedna took a deep breath and turned the knob of the white door, opening another unknown fantasy.
