Chapter 27 - THE CURSED GATE

Dylan felt his heart skip several beats as he heard Sirena's words. "Bella? What's wrong with her? She was sick before she disappeared this evening too. Did it become worse? The Gate of Cosmos? What is that woman doing there? Is she going to Cosmos to marry that bastard?" Panic filled Dylan's heart as tons of questions flooded his mind. Suddenly, he remembered Neo's words about Bella's father and Theo and he became even more anxious. More than anything, the mere thought of Bella being in some danger made his heart drown in intense worry and fear.

Roose smirked as he watched how Dylan's eyes betrayed his anxiety behind that cold face. He could sense Dylan's restlessness from the air around. He was going to contact Olen to find out what happened when these bastards barged into his chamber earlier on. He was about to kick them out but suddenly Sirena started summoning him and these bastards also heard her.

Silence enveloped the entire chamber after they heard Sirena's words. It was so heavy and dangerous that everyone around could feel that something big was going to explode very soon as they turned towards its source.

"Calm down, Dylan! Let's go there first." Gabriel said and without any delay, all four of them disappeared from Roose's chamber.

-----------------------

"A second heartbeat?" Dylan asked Sirena with his eyes still trained on Bella in her arms.

His question caused Sirena to become stock-still. She looked from the corner of her eye and sighed a relief when she saw Layla had disappeared. She probably have disappeared before the others arrived. She finally remembered Bella and Dylan's situation and found herself in a dilemma. Should she tell Dylan the truth?

Should she confess to him that Bella is pregnant? She should, right? So that Dylan would stop being angry at Bella and would finally understand her. But... what if it causes another disturbance between the couple?

Sirena did not want to raise another problem for the couple. She had the feeling that it was better for her not to speak about it and just keep it to herself for now. So, she remained silent, just staring at him quietly, until Dylan finally shifted his gaze to meet hers.

And the moment Sirena met his gaze, she knew that there is no need for her to keep it a secret anymore. He already knew but was waiting for confirmation from her. She silently nodded her head answering his question and Dylan let out a shaky breath as a tear slipped from his eye.

Dylan walked towards Bella shakily and crouched beside her. He gathered her in his arms slowly, taking her from Sirena, and then disappeared in a blink.

"Is Bella pregnant?" Gabriel asked Sirena as soon as Dylan disappeared and the latter nodded her head with a sigh.

"Don't ask me any more questions. We can talk about this after we go back." Sirena sighed tiredly and closed her eyes, trying to rest and suddenly, her eyes snapped open as if she sensed something.

"Sedna?" Sirena whispered under her breath but it did not manage to escape from Vulcan who frowned and looked at Sirena with questioning eyes.

"Sedna is here!" Sirena announced shakily, she then looked at the three guys with widened eyes and continued, "Stop her! By all means, stop her! She can't reach the gate! Everyone will be done for the moment she reaches the gate!"

"What are you talking about?" Vulcan asked Sirena and before she could answer, they heard Gabriel speak.

"My smoke's melting," Gabriel whispered with a frown, the others too looked around and found the white cloud-like smoke melting everywhere. They looked around and found the changes in the surroundings too.

The orange-colored sky roared in the form of thunder as the air around them continued to thicken. Sirena looked at the white smoke melting down and turned her head towards the other three.

"Quick! We can't let the other Gods sense her. We must stop her before she reaches the Gate." Sirena said and again all of them disappeared.

----------------------

"Welcome, Dear Sedna!" Sedna heard Layla greet her as soon as she stepped her foot on this weird place. She is now in her human form, looking at Layla, and found her a little less dark compared to before.

"You look happy?" Sedna asked with a raised brow which earned a smile from Layla. Layla took a breath and smiled answering," Yeah! I performed a miracle just now!" Layla then looked at Sirena as intense emotions danced in her eyes.

"Thank you!" Layla whispered making Sedna furrow her brows with confusion. "Why is this woman thanking her now? Did I do something good? But, I didn't do anything. And should I tell her about Triton? No! No! Even though I don't feel any harm, I shouldn't trust her with this matter just yet. And what is this place?" All kinds of questions flooded Sedna's brain as she looked around the place.

A numbing pain gripped her heart as a strange nostalgic feeling enveloped her when she looked around the place and saw that the entire land is filled with white clouds.

"What in the hell is this place? Clouds on the ground?" Sedna asked and looked at Layla when heard a giggle from the latter.

Layla chuckled and answered, "It's not hell, It's called The Gate of Cosmos." She then looked at Sedna with a smirk and continued, If you wanna know who you really are, go and open that Gate."

"Cosmos," Sedna whispered and felt her heart skip several beats. She then started walking towards the big Brown coloured gate without any delay and as if she is in a trance, her feet continued to advance slowly.

Layla looked at Sedna's back and whispered, "Looks like my work is done for now." She then looked at Sedna's back one last time and disappeared.

The white smoke started melting with every step she took forward but Sedna's eyes never left the big Brown gate before her. Something with in her seems to be urging her to go to the gate as soon as possible.

The orange sky above her roared and the air around her started to get thicker but Sedna couldn't sense anything as she could only see the Gate before her.

And barely a few steps left before she could reach the gate when Sedna felt someone grab her hand from behind.

"Wait!"
