By morning, I was awake while my mom was making breakfast so I made sure I was able to see her before she left and I told her about the practice which made her happy; it felt like she wanted to hear something good that’s happened at school.
“Would you want to continue playing?” she asked.
I shook my head, “I don’t think so. It seemed fun, but I’m only going to be wasting their time if I tried out.” I said looking down at the apple I grabbed from the table.
“It’s not a waste of time if they want to teach you,” she said as she was eating. “Elliot didn’t think he wasted his time teaching you.”
“I know. I didn’t mean it like that.” I said as I moved to sit down across from her and took a deep breath. “I just don’t think I can take any type of sport seriously.”
She smiled softly, “Well, if they want you to keep trying and you want to try as well then why not? I say do what you want and have fun if you want to continue learning.” she tells me.
