Chapter 15 - Sect

After Keir and Jin's adventure on the hunting grounds, Jin created an invisible distance around them because of previous events. It was not a surprise that there was this distance. Why would a person not want to distance themselves from a murderer?

Even though both of them continued to do missions for a while and they had gathered up a good amount of gold and silver coins, they didn't speak to each other very much.

The only times they would speak to each other is when Elric would give them a visit and he would ask the two of them if they had found anything about cultivation or Qi.

It was a mystery until they came across something that could show them the answers to a few of their question.

It was an advertisement for recruiting.

Sects recruit disciples every five years to maintain the number of disciples. Of course, there are conditions to be met to join a sect and as for the advertisement that Keir and Jin had found, the conditions were-

*Needs to be at least 13 years of age.

*Personality must be of golden yellow, deep orange, white, gold or green.

*Attribute must be Divinity.

The conditions concluded.

Jin and Keir looked at each other with disappointment after reading it.

It was a chance they could have picked if the requirements didn't have 'Attribute must be Divinity' and 'Personality must be of golden yellow, deep orange, white, gold or green'

Disappointed, the two put that advertisement in the back of their mind to not forget it nor keep it in their mind most of the time.

A few days later, Elric visited the two and they met up at Jin's room to speak privately with no one to overhear them.

Keir sat on the bed while Elric sat on a wooden chair and Jin lay on the bed facing the two of them.

They talked about what missions they had completed during the previous days and what those were but the main topic of the meeting was whether they learned anything about Qi.

"Why won't you just tell us about this thing you call 'Qi'. "

Keir asked with just a bit of annoyed tone in his words.

"Because It is sacred and is not the same for everyone."

Eric answered carefully.

The three of them went silent until for a while Jin broke the silence by saying-"We found something about sect but we don't meet the requirements for it and as of now, it is the only place that could teach us about Qi."

Jin said sincerely.

Elric looked toward Keir and looked him in the eyes said

"Keir, I recommend you never speak of your attribute in public, especially to the guild. Please keep this in mind because people with the demonic attribute are exterminated in this continent without even anyone knowing since the methods for demonic cultivation are as it sounds, Demonic." Elric warningly said.

Hearing what he said, the thought of getting killed didn't terrify Keit but it did make him a bit more careful.

"Then what am I supposed to do? not like there are any demonic sects out there in this continent."

Hearing Keir, Elric smirked as he looked at the two boys.

"I said that Demonic people are exterminated but never said they are not protected."

Elric said with a mischievous smile as he stood up to leave.

"I will be back tomorrow, don't take on any missions."

Elric said as he began to leave.

He left the two with a bubbling chest filled with excitement.

It was still morning and the two of them had nothing to do.

Since the two never had free time and didn't have anything to do, they decided to look around the city.

The two visited weaponry shops, book shops, and food stalls around the markets of Yilling city.

The two had immense stamina so they roamed around the city from morning to night.

For them, time felt like it was going faster than usual, it was not the usual depressing days where they wake up and immediately apply for a mission and once it is over, they have their meal and drop themselves on their bed.

That day felt special with all of the joy they felt after a long time.

The sun drowned itself in the horizons and the moon rose.

They left each other and fell on their bed for the night.

Before Jin realized it, the distance he had created decreased and he felt closer to Keir, his only friend.

Keir had brought Jin's cold complexion a bit of warmness that day.

The next morning Elric knocked on the doors of Jin and Keir and met up once again in Jin's room and they spoke about what they did after Elric left.

Elric noticed Jin talking brightly and slightly louder as he talked about his previous day. Elric even noticed that their anger and hatred towards him was gone and it just took them a couple of days to get over Raj's death

As for Keir, he hadn't changed one bit, it was his usual lamented black eyes that looked like they were on the brink of closing completely. It would always be a sharp gaze of emptiness whenever he looks someone in the eyes and for normal people, his gaze would trigger uneasiness. It was a mystery as to where he got those eyes. Maybe he gets his odd eyes from his unique mind or something in his genes.

He let out a small smile whenever Jin would mention his name.

They talked a lot and before they realized an hour had passed.

Elric pulled out a parchment with light brown stains around it and unrolled it as he handed it to the two boys.

It was a similar parchment as the previous one but the words were quite different and there were unknown marks all over it and they read-

*RECRUITING DISCIPLES.

The Red Leaf Sect.*

While the requirements for entering this sect were-

'*Any attributes but Divinity are accepted.

*Personality must be green, warm or cold blue or red.'

The requirements concluded.

Jin and Keir look at each other with delighted expressions while the bubbling feeling in their chest increases.

They kept reading the parchment and found that the last day to enter the sect was two days away while the place of the entrance is a week or two away. Jin got disheartened and a feeling of disappointment filled his heart, he weighed his heart and looked at Elric.

Keir looked at Elric dismayed and said "The entrance is in two days but it will take us a few weeks to get there by a carriage."

Elric smiled at them and said, "Don't you two worry, pack your things and let us go."
