The third morning of Keir's travel dawned on them with two very different sceneries.
The first was the pleasant morning with the cold dense air and the bright rising sun with the orange clouds floating above their head. Birds sang and a cold wind blew giving the utmost vibe of a cold morning.
The second scene, however, was the exact opposite of the latter scene, that was the source of the pure fear and the chilling sensation that vibrated through their spine
The scene was the definition of fierce.
There was a whole war going on. Keir and the carriages rested on top of a hill while there was a large-scale war going on on the ground below.
Keir could hear the screams of men and the clanging of weapons from a far distance. He saw the bloodstained ground where men were dying to take over land Keir once again felt some kind of thrill inside his chest.
This feeling wasn't new to him, he felt this before. When he went on the mission to destroy the lair of Kobolds with his newfound teammates. Though the team didn't last much longer, it certainly made him feel warm inside to remember them.
The warm feeling was immediately overwhelmed by the excitement to participate in that ugly and fierce battleground.
For he felt like a toddler waiting for permission to go play in the playground with his friends.
Keir was developing in his nature. He used to be a boy with no care in the world such as having no desire and feelings but he developed them through going into battles he could never win.
Strong battles create strong people, the more intense the hardship the more hardened the man becomes.
And it was the same thing for Keir. He first faced a huge lair of kobolds, he faced a strong beast with no weapon in hand then the most important battle he had that helped him grow was his fight with Oscar in the training grounds which taught him to subside his fear and his battles as strong foes continued to make him stronger mentally and physically.
Keir had yet to see the limit of his strength and to know his limit he needs more opponents that could destroy him.
One cannot know their true limit without opponents, they keep you motivated and strengthen you with each conflict.
While Keir silently stared at the ongoing battlefield there were all the people from the carriages by the edge of the cliff they stood on.
Those people had sweat running down their faces and their hands shaking while a few were trembling. Their eyes were wide open and their expressions were terrified.
Keir was certainly aware of their presence but one person whose presence was invisible was Zoan.
Zoan stood right beside the line of the people.
"By now you all must have understood what our first task is going to be and for those who don't know your situation, you all are going to take part in that battle right now-
"Interesting so what about those guys with no fighting experience?"
A boy interrupted who seemed somewhat older than Keir. That boy had a tone of arrogance in his voice.
"If you want to leave you may but keep this in mind that there are ordinary folks all over and they wouldn't mind killing soldiers who have left the battlefield. And the boy over there, interrupt me again and I won't hesitate to remove you from the Hunlun faction."
While Zoan was busy speaking Keir saw a vast number of men numbered in tens of thousands approach the opposing side with a wedge-shaped formation.
With his beastly senses, Keir saw the man leading the wedged-shaped army to the enemy and that man's presence was one hell of an aura.
It felt as if a tiger was passing by you with hunger and blood in its mind.
Keir without another thought in his mind jumped off that cliff while slowing down his fall by engraving his thick sharp claws in that wall of stone.
Soon he reached the ground and headed straight to that general who led that vast army. Keir unsheathed his sword and enabled his beastly senses to their limit.
His muscles were rippling and his heart was pumping blood with immense pressure. Veins were popping up in his body and his muscles swole with strength. His sword felt lighter than ever and his mind was like a flow of water easily observing his obstacles and avoiding them with ease.
He felt a thirst inside him that could only be satisfied by a bloodbath of a battle between him and that fierce-looking general.
As he reached the visions of the general Keir felt as if the tiger that was passing by him had noticed him and was ready to rip off each of his limbs.
Their eyes met and Keir saw those ferocious eyes of that general.
Before he could gauge the general a bit longer, a man behind the general galloped towards Keir with a wielded glaive and armor covering only his torso.
That man's presence was similar to the general's but way too inferior. That incoming man didn't have the burning fire in his presence nor any fierceness in the way he rode his horse.
Disappointed, Keir threw his sword at the galloping man with all his might. Before he could react the sword had already pierced his skull and the upper body was burnt away including the armor before Keir kicked it off the ground and landed before the corpse of the dead soldier.
Keir threw away the corpse off the moving horse and took control of the horse the dead soldier rode.
Keir rode his horse toward the general while moving beside that moving army. Of course, there was a distance between him and that army because if he were to move with them he would definitely be attacked and he didn't want to waste his stamina on the weaklings of that army.
Though they were weak, Keir could still feel their untimaliness in the air around them. They seemed fierce with their wild look on their face knowing most of them are going to crash onto a wall of soldiers.
His horse ran at its full limit but still, he couldn't reach near that general maybe indicating that this was his and the general's final meet which wouldn't really relief Keir off his hard work.....
