As Will made his move, a scream of mortal terror and dread escaped from Kessia's mouth.
This scream seemed to contain the pure feeling of terror, as if nothing in the world could compare to it. This feeling of terror was much stronger than the happiness that the king had felt when Kessia was healed, but nevertheless, Will pushed through the pain from it and continued moving.
What he was doing was he used his wings to push him towards where Kessia was, launching forward at an intense speed. Then, without any warning, once he had gone what he assumed was far enough forward, he slashed forward with all his power, after which a loud clanging sound was heard, followed by the sound of steel shattering and falling onto the wooden floor. Then, knowing that he had hit his target, Will swung his other wing, moving horizontally, towards where he had heard the intruder.
He did not know it, but this swing was so close to Kessia that it had actually cut her skin on her face, leaving a visible mark. Slowly, blood fell from this mark which was left on her cheek under her left eye, but she obviously didn't care.
This swing of his wing was so powerful, but against Will's expectations, he felt no collision and felt no sound from the intruder.
He did not expect this, but he wasn't surprised by it based on the fact that he was blind and swinging without any point of reference other than sound.
Kessia, who was sitting in the corner right next to Will, was so scared that she didn't even notice the cut on her face, and even if she had, she would have simply thought that it came from the short blade, which had just been held next to her throat, exploding from the force of the impact.
She was now sobbing uncontrollably from the deadly situation she was just in, so Will could tell where she was, but because of this, he couldn't hear the intruders, so he quickly yelled to her, "Keep behind me and stay quiet!!!" after which she obediently stayed behind him and forcefully quieted herself. She knew that he was now blind and that he would need to use sound to locate the intruders if they wanted to have any chance of getting out alive.
However, she couldn't help feeling curious about how Will knew about the intruders in the room, and how he knew they were there, but she would worry about that later, because all that mattered right now was surviving. She was not worried about Will not being on her side because he had saved her from the deadly poison.
Putting her whole focus into staying calm and quiet, Kessia had no place to focus on the events happening around her.
Listening intensely, Will could begin to hear the shifting of the floorboards in two different areas of the room. He felt a sense of danger encroaching him from his right, and a feeling of hatred coming from his left.
The sense that he got from these two intruders was cruel and vicious, as if they only lived to kill and strike terror into people's hearts. However, Will's heart was as still as water, which kept him calm in this terrifying situation.
Then came the howl of the wind, a feeling of despair creeping into the room with it. This howl of wind seemed to carry the desperation that Kessia was feeling, along with the fear that the intruders had struck deep into her heart.
Will did not know it, but she had been forced to strip and was currently only in her undergarments.
She may have been a good person, but there were still horrible people in this world, such as the intruders. They had tried to force her, and then they would have killed her after. They had held a blade to her throat and told her to keep quiet to not alert the guards, but Will had ruined their plans. When he came in the room, they could immediately tell that he was blind, so they planned to simply kill him in silence before continuing their business, but they had not expected him to know that they were there, and even move fast enough and strike hard enough to break their blade.
At this point, Will was backing up, pushing Kessia further into the corner to keep her safer. He had no idea where he was in the room, so he could only move backwards until he reached the corner or felt the wall with his wings.
Shortly after that, he was satisfied that Kessia was safely in the corner, so he continued to listen to where the intruders were. However, they had figured out that he could hear them, so they had been completely silent now.
Realizing that he could not hear them, Will asked Kessia, "Where are they?" with worry and urgency.
However, she responded shakily with, "I don't know! They just vanished!"
Hearing this, Will was surprised, but then he realized that he couldn't feel any aura of cultivation from them, only their emotions and the killing intent.
There were only two possible reasons for this: they were either at the silver core realm, or they had high-level concealment techniques. If they were at the silver core realm, then he was in serious danger because of how powerful they were. This would also explain how one of them was able to avoid Will's wing so easily.
The second option of them having a concealment technique, however, was much less likely because concealment techniques were rare, even for those at the silver core realm.
With this, Will assumed that they were at the silver core realm, supreme existences. This would also explain why they would be so unafraid about defiling the princess of the kingdom, whose father was at the silver core realm.
However, what nobody except Kessia knew, was that the king was currently not even in the area, and had gone searching for the reason why Kessia had nearly died.
As Will continued to stand there, he faintly felt the danger on his right increase, and quickly move toward him. The speed at which it moved was simply incredible, at least ten times faster than the arrow which the city master of hidden valley had shot at him.
However, he was prepared for this, and moved at a speed which was even quicker. He had gotten much faster after his strength increased with his realm.
He quickly swung his wing towards the sharp sense of danger, making a shield out of it.
A loud and booming sound was heard as the sound of steel shattering was once again heard. Following this, there was the sound of a loud crack, accompanied by a sharp shriek of pain. Despite being in the silver core realm, when the intruder had hit Will's wing, they were expecting the wing to simply break from the sheer power behind the blow, along with the spiritual power contained within it. Despite their expectations, Will's wing not only remained perfectly intact, but also completely shattered their weapon, and their sheer momentum led them to slam their fist into the wing as well, quickly shattering every bone in their hand.
Spiritual power was incredibly powerful. It could increase the power of someone's attack by severalfold. It could even attack through the air in a short range. However, its biggest advantage was that it contained no aura whatsoever, just like those in the silver core realm, who seemed to have no trace of their existence.
After this shrill and pitiful scream of pain, the intruder had basically told Will where they were, after which he quickly swung his wing again. However, he never expected this swing to hit his opponent, who was at least several times faster than he was. What he was really doing was distracting them so that he could do the one thing that he thought could save him.
Quickly, the room started heating up, at first it being imperceptible, but with the heat quickly growing, the intruders could quickly sense that something was happening, although they had no idea what. Suddenly, they started to feel pain.
This pain was intense, but it caused them no damage for the moment. However, they could tell that this would be extremely dangerous in a matter of moments.
At this point, the whole room was starting to burn, with everything catching fire, then the fire quickly being extinguished, as if the fire itself could not deal with the heat.
At this point, the intruders were seriously concerned, with fear appearing on their shadowy faces. However, this only grew and got more intense as time went on. Suddenly, they perceived microscopic drops of red qi in the air. This qi was forming slowly, but it had a power contained within it which was infinitely more terrifying than anything which they had ever seen.
At this point, they no longer had any chance to survive if they didn't kill Will, so they ran towards him with all of their power, not caring for the consequences.
At this point, a violent power erupted from them. This power was not nearly as strong as the qi which was in the air, but it was still something that someone at the foundational realm could not possibly withstand. This was their spiritual power being fully unleashed. However, Will simply stood there, slowly wrapping himself in his wings. At this moment, his wings seemed to grow and covered his whole body, making him seem like he was wrapped in a ruby cocoon.
As their attacks landed on him, their bodies had already started dissolving, with blood flowing out of their shadowy bodies and quickly getting burned out of existence.
As their attacks hit his wings, the only thing that happened was a shudder from them, which quickly settled. They tried to attack again, but suddenly both of them sensed something truly terrifying coming towards them.
This feeling was an unprecedented sense of crisis. A sense of danger that scared them to their cores. It was at this moment that they noticed that the mist which had been burning them had disappeared, and that it was all moving towards one area.
When they saw where the qi was flowing to, they were terrified beyond belief. A river of blood-red qi entered their senses, flowing towards them like a torrent. This gushing river was the most terrifying thing they had ever seen, and only one thought echoed through their mind when they saw it: run!! Run or you won't survive!!
With this, they fled for their life, quickly making their way towards the broken window, making sure to stay as quiet as possible so that Will couldn't sense them. However, despite how quiet they were, the torrent of red qi still followed them, catching up in an instant. They were emitting such a potent emotion of fear that Will could tell exactly where they were.
The next moment, their pitiful screams were heard echoing through the whole castle as their shadowy bodies fell lifelessly to the ground, each with a gaping hole in their chest.
This scared the whole castle, and Old Man Dai quickly came rushing into the room where they were. He had heard Kessia scream earlier, but he was not close enough to get there quickly. He had also ordered the guards to not go into that room no matter what they heard, so even though they wanted desperately to go in to see what was wrong, they were simply not allowed to and would likely be killed if they disobeyed the order, even if it was to save their princess.
The first thing he saw when he went into the room was the broken windows with two shadows lying in front of them. Upon closer inspection, these shadows were actually bodies and each of them had been severely burned with gaping holes in each one right where their hearts were.
He then noticed the current state of the room. The entire room looked as if it had been set on fire, but there were no flames. He had seen this appearance before, and knew that it was from Will's red qi. However, as he was still grasping the situation, he heard Will ask him, "Are they dead?"
He had clearly heard Old Man Dai enter the room, so he asked him what he could not answer himself. Being blind, he could not tell if they were dead or not.
As Old Man Dai looked at Will, he was astonished to see that Will was in the corner of the room with Kessia behind him, merely in her undergarments. She wore on her face a look of extreme fear when looking at the dead bodies on the ground, then deep admiration and respect when she looked towards Will
When Old Man Dai saw this, he wanted to say something, but then he noticed Will's eyes, which were now a pearl color with opal irises and pupils. He could tell from his vast experience that Will was permanently blind right now. However, he pushed this thought to the back of his mind as he asked, "What the hell is happening here?"
