As Will got up to stretch, he decided that he would go outside for the first time. After all, he had only stayed in the room to cultivate and meditate.
During his stay in this room for the past three-fourths of a month, Old Man Dai had gotten someone to make him a cloak to cover his wings to not attract attention. The cloak was fully black and covered his wings perfectly. It hung down low to his ankles without hindering him in any way. It was also fire resistant and wouldn't get burned should he get into a fight with one of the spirit realm disciples of the kingdom.
'It's quite funny,' Will thought to himself while laughing lightly. He had been raised as an orphan and barely had rags for clothes. Now, he was wearing a robe that he wouldn't be qualified to see, let alone wear.
With this, Will headed out of the room and past the guards. They had no idea who he was, but they had been told by Old Man Dai personally to not question anything that the guest in the room did. He also made it explicitly clear that even if the guest were to seem to be in mortal danger, they were not to go into the room or they would be killed.
Despite their burning curiosity, which Will could obviously feel, they continued to stand there without interacting with him. On the cloak that Old Man Dai had given Will, there was a patch that symbolized that Will was a personal guest of the king himself. This allowed him free reign in the castle and the city and no one would dare to offend him.
As he made his way down, he went to a large market that was in the castle. However, he did not go through the market nor did he do anything at all. He simply sat there on the ground, seemingly meditating. The bustling people around him were at first annoyed but when they saw he was a guest of the king, they no longer questioned him.
All of these people were confused by Will as he was simply sitting in the middle of a market doing nothing. He wasn't even cultivating.
What they didn't know was that, at this moment, Will was simply feeling the emotions around him coming from all the people in the market. Using this, Will was trying to deepen his understanding of emotion, as that seemed to be the only thing that was able to weaken the immense bottleneck that he was facing at the moment.
Through the three quarters of a month that he had stayed in the room with Kessia, he learned that the only thing that would weaken the bottleneck to the spirit realm was his understanding of emotions. He had long ago discovered that his heart was directly related to all emotions with hope being the strongest and most present of them all.
The bottleneck was so strong that with only Kessia's emotions, it would probably take him a year in order for him to break through his bottleneck whereas if he went into the kingdom and felt all the emotions of the living city, he could do it much faster.
After merely sitting there for a few hours, Will could already feel the bottleneck getting weaker as he became more in tune with the emotions that he could sense.
Then, he decided to head back to his room for the rest of the day. After all, he had caused quite a commotion by simply sitting in the middle of the market doing nothing for the whole day.
The whole city was abuzz with news about the 14 year old boy dressed in a black cloak with the patch of the kings personal guest sitting in the middle of a market for a whole day. Very quickly, the whole Kingdom would come to know about this bizarre behavior. However, no one could understand what he was doing.
