"Do you feel tired?" Brie asked Lucan who had yawned for the sixth time since he walked into the room.
"Are you overworked?, I thought as the Chairman you needn't do a lot" she continued
Lucan smiled "Are you worrying about me?" he asked watching her intently as his question brought a rush of pink to her cheeks.
"I think you already know the answer to that, why would you ask if you already know" she said regretting her decision to even ask.
"I'm not sure, but I thought it would be nice to hear you say you worry about me"
Brie sighed " Alright fine I do worry about you, just a little bit" she said and before he could reply a soft knock came on the door before it opened slowly.
A red haired lady dressed richly slowly walked into the room her eyes fixated on Brie. 'it was the woman from the picture ' Brie thought.
Sophie Marie could not blink as she stared at Brie who was well and alive after such a traumatic event, Oh! how her dear friend had suffered and the thought of this brought tears to her eyes, she had been overly excited since Lucan told her the news that she left most of her work undone.but now standing before Brie, she couldn't even summon the courage to hug her dear friend, the thought of how she had almost taken the life support machine off of Brie personally to end her suffering resurfaced making her extremely sad that she couldn't help but run out of the room in tears.
On her way out she bumped into Adam who Hugged her without any questions.
"Shhhh easy dear, everything is fine, you've been strong and you did well but remember that you have to be strong for Brie as she needs you the most right now " Adam said as he gently stroked her hair.
Sophie abruptly pulled away from his embrace and looked at him. "I'm such a horrible person, I asked the doctors to remove the life support machine when she wouldn't wake up." Brie cried as more tears fell from her eyes.
Adam held her as she continued muttering in tears . "Your intentions were purely for her own good and you did nothing wrong . just see how your love has kept her alive today." Adam whispered to her.
Sophie slowly looked into his eyes and truly what he said was true. "Yes, she just doesn't remember me right now but soon enough she'll remember me and I'll keep her safe" She smiled
Adam wiped her tears with his thumb. "No more crying then, or else Brie will think you find her pitiful and we don't want that"
Sophie nodded and smiled.
********
"Is she not happy to see me?" Brie asked in surprise when Sophie stormed out of the room.
She had been extremely happy and had waited in anticipation for her only family to finally visit her but right now she wasn't sure if she was right to have waited.
" She's just sad that you can't remember, and she's probably thinking of what to say to you so you'll have to give her a little time to adjust to the situation. " Lucan said
"Did it also take you time to adjust to the situation, when you found out that I had amnesia? " Brie asked with curiosity
Lucan gave a deep thought to her question , 'had he taken time to adjust to the situation, had he thought of how to approach her or what to say to her, had he thought of just abandoning his sanity and just doing what his body wanted, yes he had ! '.
Brie sighed "You probably didn't, what was I thinking..." she said but was cut off by Lucan's index finger on her lips.
"I did, I spent my time pondering on a lot of things, 'would I scare her if I held her and told her how happy I was that she's well, what should I say if she asked about her past, what kind of conversation was appropriate' I thought all this and I just decided to go with the flow" Lucan said and pulled his hand away for the fear of doing what he shouldn't.
Thankfully Sophie and Adam walked into the room. Sophie walked straight and pulled Brie into a warm embrace.
"Thank you for being alive, thank you for coming back to me, I'm so happy that I can finally tell you everything that I always wanted to, please don't ever scare me like that again, do you know how sad and heart broken I was to watch your unmoving body, from now on i won't let you go anywhere". Sophie said trying very hard to hold back her tears
" I may not remember but I'm also happy that I get to hear the things you have to say to me and don't worry I also don't want to sleep for a year again, I think I've had enough sleep for a lifetime " Brie joked lifting the atmosphere in the room and making everyone laugh.
Sophie pulled out from the hug " it's good that you can still joke.
Later after Lucan and Adam left the room Sophie helped Brie to wash her hair as she told her stories about her work and her relationship with Adam.
"How did you meet Adam?" Brie asked, Earlier Sophie had spoken more about Adam than anything else so Brie could tell just how much love they shared and although she didn't understand much about love she found herself wishing for something similar.
The question made Sophie flush. "it's so embarrassing, I don't even want to talk about it, probably when you are able to remember you will feel proud for being the 'cause' of our meeting " She said as she busied herself with drying Brie's hair.
Brie just nodded and wondered to herself what Sophie meant by her being the cause of their meeting and she also said it was embarrassing, this made her begun to think of what kind of person she was before now.
She was so immersed in her thoughts that she didn't hear Sophie saying something to her until Sophie tapped her.
"What are you thinking about? " Sophie asked, worry written all over her face .
"it's nothing I just zoned out for awhile" Brie smiled
"Don't do that. I was asking if I should add a little color to your face, you look so pale and oh look how chapped your lips are . nevermind I'll just put on something very light you won't even notice" Sophie said as she went through her bag and brought out everything she needed. Thankfully she had brought quite a lot of things and they were needed.
