"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh" Marie screamed in happiness when Lucan told her about the news over the phone. He held the phone away from his ear to not turn deaf from her screaming.
Sophie Marie was Brie's best friend, they were unrelated sisters as they would always call themselves . Within this last year Sophie was the reason he never lost hope that Brie would regain consciousness but sometimes he was more grateful to Adam , Sophie's boyfriend who was there to console her whenever she cried.
He suddenly heard Sophie sobbing "Are you alright "
"I'm fine , it's just that I'm sad that at a point I almost lost hope" she cried louder at the thought of this .
She had actually expected Brie to regain consciousness after a month but when the sixth month passed she had began preparing her mind to mourn her dear friend, she had even spent a lot of nights crying by Brie's bedside but Adam and Lucan were always there to encourage her .
"She is fine now, she just needs to remember and it'll all go back to the way it was. it won't be long from now " Lucan said
"I'll be back this weekend and then I'll take an annual leave from work so that you can rest and go back to your normal routine you've worked hard"
"Do you still think I'm doing all this because of guilt?" Lucan asked
"I'm convinced it's not " Sophie said and with that she hung up the phone
Lucan heaved a sigh of relief. today had been a great day he felt totally refreshed, it was like a heavy burden had been lifted off his shoulders, Sophie's words now had that effect on him. Suddenly he looked at his watch and realized he should be at the hospital so he immediately went to freshen up.

At the hospital Brie was listening to April's stories, from her stories she realized that April was twenty three,an only child, raised by a widowed mother and her cousin who was in the military. the girl was not a shy person and was not shy to talk about certain things that would normally make a lady blush , in fact she spoke of literally everything .
Between yesterday and today they had gone through a lot of movies on April's laptop which she was grateful for if not she would've been stuck with watching boring shows on the television .
Although she was happy with April's company she couldn't help but think of Lucan. 'Where was he'
As if reading her mind April said "Mr McCain will visit you this afternoon " she said with a mouthful of oranges
And almost immediately the door slowly opened and Lucan majestically walked into the room filling the place with the smell of coconut and leather .
"Are you okay? " He asked casually as he brought a chair and sat by the bed
Brie nodded.
"Mr McCain, you smell nice... I wasn't going to say it but I just had to" April said without a hint of embarrassment.
Lucan who didn't know how to react just smiled while Brie laughed at both of them.
Suddenly there was only silence in the room and this silence made Brie think of something that had been nagging her all night. ' Should I ask him should I not but what was the harm in asking, so she finally decided that she'd ask .
"Mr McCain Did I undergo any facial surgeries or cosmetic surgeries before? " finally there it was she asked
April immediately choked on her oranges and started coughing. that question had surely caught her off guard thankfully Lucan handed her a glass of water. "and she said I always asked embarrassing questions " she muttered to herself
"No, none that I'm aware of. I know that you've always looked like this since I met you" Lucan said which gained a nod from Brie
"Wow! so that's what you call head turning beauty." April said
Lucan turned to April "Ms Sanders you can take the day off I'll just take over from here "
"Oh I can? thank you. I'll be back in the morning " April said and picked up her handbag and left after waving them goodbye
When Lucan turned to Brie he caught her staring at him
"You have any other questions? "
"I was just wondering if the term 'head turning beauty ' could be used to define you" Brie responded nonchalantly
And now it was Lucan's turn to choke as he coughed continously and Brie handed him a glass of water.
When he was calm Brie continued to bombard him with questions
"Do you work ?"
"Mmh"
"What work do you do "
"I'm a chairman of a company "
"Your company? "
"My late father's "
"Ohh, I'm sorry about that , and your mom? is she late too "
Lucan nodded
"that's sad, do you think I have a mother"
" Why do you ask?"
"I just want someone to take care of us "
'Us' something about Brie describing the both of them in a word made him happy
"You're not saying anything " she complained
" I can take care of you " Lucan said
" And you? who will take care of you"
"Bany will take care of me" Lucan said with a smile. Was she concerned about him? what a funny woman, at this point he felt like he was having a conversation with a child she was just so innocent.
"Bany? who is Bany" Brie asked with curiosity
"You'll meet her much later "
Brie nodded as her mouth formed an O
The rest of the day was well spent with Lucan making small talks and feeding her fruits.
