It was the night before the full moon. Tomorrow night would be the full moon. I got until today and tonight to relax. I got until tomorrow night before I had to go into a special room. My cousin and Leo came to visit. Leo told me that my uncle should be here a little later. "Hey Loki and Leo. Cough cough." I said with a raspy voice. "Hey I heard from the doctor you've got a fever." Said Loki. "Yeah. They said it was normal for someone who has injuries to have fevers. I just wish it would go away soon. Ha..Ha.." "How high was the fever Akela?" said Leo. "It was 102. They have been giving me medicine so it will go away soon." "That's good. Have you been taking it for them?" "Akela I'm not a little girl anymore. Even if I don't like it I still take it." "Haha. Oh you two are so cute." Said Leo. "Hey we are not." Said Loki. Then we all laughed and my wounds were starting to hurt. "Ow. My wounds." "You ok Akela? Do we need to call a nurse?" Said Leo worriedly. "No I'll live. Thanks for coming over. I was bored." "Yeah its easy to get bored when you're here without anyone you know." Said Leo. I smiled and we visited awhile.
It was time for them to go home and me to rest. Once they left I was starting to feel weird. I brushed it off thinking it was nothing. Then after awhile I was feeling worse. I pushed the button for a doctor. I told him I felt weird and he came in running. "What seems to be the problem?" "I don't know. Once my family left something felt weird." "Ok let me check you out."
Once he checked me out, he said, "Well It could be that you might be turning. Don't worry. Its easier for someone who is already a wolf to be cured from a bite of a werewolf. If you were human it would be harder." "I see. What can we do to slow down the process until the full moon?" "I have some medicine I can inject you with. Hang on." He got the medicine ready and I closed my eyes while he injected me in the arm. "Ok done. Oh I forgot. The medicine will make you drowsy. At least you will get a peaceful sleep." I fell asleep not long after I got the shot.
My eyes were still closed when I felt a warmth on my hand. "Hmm. Who is that?" I slowly woke up to see my uncle holding my hand. "Uncle Kira?" "Yeah its me. How you feeling?" I tried to sit up but the wounds on my legs and stomach hurt. The ones on my arms don't hurt as much anymore. I flinched when I tried to get up. "Hey easy now. Don't want to reopen those wounds." "I'll be fine. At least they took the stitches out of my arms already. My legs got the worst of it. My stomach was pretty bad but not life threatening." "That's good to know." Then my uncle and I talked about what will happen when I get out and a little about dad and mom growing up.
It was getting late. It was almost time for uncle to leave and I said, "Oh uncle. I forgot to mention. The doctor had to give me a shot. When Loki and Leo left I felt really strange. The doctor told me it could mean I might change. Even if I did its easier to cure a person who is already a wolf than to cure a human bit by a werewolf." "I see. Well I hope they cure you. I have already talked to the doctor. They told me that your mom and Loki can be here. Leo and I won't feel safe being here." "Ok thank you. I'm assuming Spirit will be here as well. Ever since I got back he visits sometimes to check on me. It may be short but its ok." "That's good. Well get some sleep. You need the energy tomorrow. Just in case." "Yeah thanks uncle night." After he left I went to sleep for the night.
The next day its already around dinner time. My mom and spirit made it now we are waiting for Loki. After awhile Loki and my aunt came. "I wasn't expecting aunt to be here." I said. "Yeah well after you mom told me what might happen tonight I came with Loki." "I'm sure I will be fine. I'm not that weak little girl anymore. Loki has been training me." "Yeah I figured as much but just in case ok?" "Yes Auntie." So we visited until the doctor told me I had to go in. I was only allowed two people to go in to hold me.
"Ok who is the two strongest in your group?" Said the doctor. Loki spoke up. "Me and cousin Loki are." "OK you may go in with her. We will have to chain her up though." "Yes sir we understand." Said Loki. We followed them into the room. "Oh. Mom and auntie? Be ready in case she tries to escape ok?" "Yes Spirit we know." Then they finally got into the room and watched the doctor chain her up. It was only minutes before the full moon.
Finally mom and Auntie saw the full moon then ran inside. They were trying to listen at what is going on. They were worried because they couldn't hear anything.
Back in the room I was feeling strange. My body was changing and it was scaring me. "NO! I'm actually Changing! Argh." "Hang in there Akela! You can do it!" Said Loki. I tried to listen to their voice but nothing was happening. Its just like when I was weak as a human. A werewolf and normal wolf were fighting. "Argh. Ouuouuu." I broke the chains but Loki and Spirit pinned me down at this time. "Damn! She's strong!" Said Spirit. "Yeah we can only hold her for so long. Then she will get away." Said Loki. "Akela! Calm down! Your going to be ok!" Said Loki. Then I howled again. Pushed with all my might and got out of their grip. I got to where my mother and auntie were. "Woah there Akela. Your going to be ok." Said mom. I was huffing and puffing. I was trying to fight it but nothing was happening. The more I tried to fight it the weaker I got. I still got through and escaped in the forest. My wounds were still pretty bad but not bad enough not to escape.
Loki and Spirit chased her into the forest. They turned into wolves while she was a human with wolf parts like a tail claws ears her hands and feet were shaped like claws and her face looked like a wolf too otherwise she is running like a human.
I heard sounds so I was on my guard. Looks like my brother and Loki caught up with me. 'No don't come any closer. I don't want to hurt you all.' I said to myself. I just growled at them and even in their wolf forms they couldn't understand me. It
It had finally been awhile. The moon was about to go down. They were still chasing me and I was slowing down then everything turned black. It felt like someone was carrying me. I opened my eyes just for a few seconds, then I passed out again.
I felt someone holding my hand and I slowly woke up. "Hmm. Who? Who is that? Ow. Why do I hurt?" I opened my eyes to see Loki and my brother spirit. "Loki? Spirit?" "Yeah we are here. Mom and auntie are too." "Hmm. What happened? The last thing I remember was you pinning me down. Then I felt like I blacked out." "I see so you were only conscious for a few minutes. Auntie go get the doc." "Yes right away Loki." "How are you feeling?" "I feel a little sore. Weird though. My wounds don't hurt as much as they did." "They wouldn't. wheather you are a werewolf or a wolf the healing is fast. A werewolf is half the healing speed. Since you were fighting both, your healing was a little strange. Its half healed now. Once you get the cure you might have to stay a few more days before you can come back home." Said Loki. "Oh so he wanted to wait until I woke up?" "Yes its safer that way." Then the doc walked in.
"Hello. Good to see you up." I looked at the doctors arm. "Did I do that?" "It was an accident Akela. You weren't yourself." "NO. It is my fault. I can't do this. Doctor can you give me the antidote now?" "Yes I got it right here." So he gave me the cure it felt a little strange and I fell asleep again. Then Loki talked to the doc.
"How long is she going to be in here?" "Give her about 2 more Days. Also I want her to come back here the day of the full moon just to be sure she is cured." "Yes sir luckily the next full moon will be the end of next month." "Yes well if there are any changes in her when she goes back, bring her here immediately ok?" "Yes sir. Thanks for your help."
A couple of hours later Akela was waking up again. "Hmm. Mommy? Daddy?" I woke up not knowing where I was for a little bit. Loki and mom were worried. "Oh that's right. I'm in a hospital." I tried to sit up and Loki helped me. "Thanks Loki. So when can I go home?" "You can go home in 2 days. If any changes happen we need to bring you back. We also need to chain you up the night of the next full moon just to be sure you are cured." "I guess that makes since." I visted them and they left for home. Loki stayed with me though. "Are you going to tell Leo its ok to come back?" "Oh mom is supposed to tell him. He and Aqua will be coming." "Oh is she back from her trip?" "Yeah she is." Then after awhile Leo and Aqua came by.
"Hi Leo and Aqua." I said. "Oh hello. Good to see you awake. When I heard what happened when I got back I was worried. Thank God you were ok." "I heard from your mom Akela. You turned after all." "Yes I tried my hardest to fight it. It was like my human and wolf part all over again fighting each other. The were wolf part of me was stronger. I didn't kill anyone did I Loki?" "No you came close though. We saved you. A frightened little girl about 8 years old you almost attacked." "Thank you for stopping me." "I didn't stop you. The moon went down before you were able too. Thank the moon for that." He and I laughed along with Leo and Aqua.
After awhile it was time to leave again. Aqua you stay here with Akela for the next 2 Days ok?" "Yes of course." "Come on Loki you have school tomorrow." "Yeah yeah I know." Then they left and it was only Aqua and me. "Aqua I'm glad you are here with me. Now I won't be bored for the next 2 days." "Hehe that's good." So we visited until I fell asleep.
2 Days later I finally was able to go home. My cousin Loki and Leo came by to pick me up. "OK all ready to go Akela?" "Yes I'm ready." Everyone followed and watched me closely to make sure I didn't hurt or get hurt on the way home.
"Finally home." Aqua and Loki helped me to my room. "My comfortable bed. Feels so nice I will finally be able to have a peaceful sleep.Hey since its lunch time what are we having Aqua?" "Oh we are going to have company over so its going to be lunch and dinner. I had Leo prepare it now I can start on it soon. We are going to have a feast." "Oh can my dad and Spirit come too?" "That's up to Leo. I'll go ask him you rest." I laid down to get comfortable and rested my eyes.
Aqua came in and said, "Akela?" "Hmm. Yes." "Leo said he would get your mother to get you father and spirit ok? Oh and the others are hanging out with the elder for the day." "Hehe ok thanks."
After awhile everyone was starting to show up. Loki knocked on Akela's door. (Knock Knock) "You awake?" "Yes Loki come in." He came in with uncle Leo and they helped me to the couch. "Ok stay here we will get you some food ok?" "Yes you know what I like Loki you can get it." "Sure thing."
Loki brought a tray of food for me and I ate it. Once I was done, Loki and Leo helped me up and I walked carefully outside on the normal couch on the porch. I saw my mom and dad with spirit. "I'll go them Akela. Hang on." He went over to mom and told her I was out here. She looked and agreed. Dad Spirit and mom came over. "Hey dad. Spirit." "Hey sis. How you feeling?" "A little better. I get stronger everyday. In about a few days I should be fine. Dad how is everyone at home?" "Pretty well. Azula has a boyfriend now. As for the others they really don't care at the moment. I just hope they are not giving the elder a hard time." "Hehe I bet Blizzard and Ice are giving him a hard time." "Yeah that's what I am afraid of. He can probably manage. At least they didn't turn human. They are just like me." said Dad. "I have wanted to ask this for a long time. Dad. Don't you wish you could ever turn human?" "Sometimes I do and others I'm glad I don't." "I see." "Why do you ask?" "No reason. Just curious." "Is something on your mind Akela?" "No not really. Thanks for telling me dad. I'm getting a little tired. I'm still recovering." "OK get some sleep. Me and your siblings want to see you again." "Hehe they will don't worry." Loki and Leo walked me to my room and I laid down. I did some thinking.
