The trio stood across the field glaring at the elder goddess with caution. She might have been weakened but she was still stronger than the three of them combined. She was among the creators of the world for a reason, there was no way she was letting them win without giving them a deadly fight.
"Here I come," she laughed before blitzing into the three warriors with blinding speed, scattering the formation they had created. Zemeta who had anticipated such move recovered from the attack quicker than the others before her back could hit the ground. Creating a mini vortex with her body, she gathered enough force to kick the elder away from her teammates taking an iconic one knee down, one fist down stance.
The goddess tanked the hit with a smile clapping her hands majestically, "If you stand down now, your death would be painless."
The speedster stands to her feet rolling her shoulders around, "I don't intend to die today. So I don't accept your offer."
Mindra seeing that she was not going to talk her way out of this one disappears into thin air with her speed as Zemeta zips after her. All of this happens in a speed incalculable for everyone on the field, the gods included. Everyone was motionless except for the two goddesses who went toe to toe against each other.
"This is one fight you cannot win Zemeta, just give up!"
I watched them run around the field, getting faster and faster with each nanosecond passing. Oddly enough I could keep up with their speed because of Callipsos powers. As an embodiment of all the gods, he was just as fast as the other gods and just as powerful too. From a blur to light streaks, they gathered enough speed to the point of not moving air molecules anymore, they were zipping through the wind getting faster with each time.
"This could go on forever," I bellowed in amazement. The scenery in front of me was amazing, every god and warrior on the field at a standstill with the two creatures moving faster than the light rays they emitted.
"THAT WOULD BE TRUE IF THEY WERE LIKE ZENOK AND I, UNFORTUNATELY THEY'RE NOT, FOR EVEN THEY HAVE LIMITS," explained Callipso in an offhanded manner.
Just as he had described, I watched the both of them slow down to a halt with blood pouring from their noses, the strain of such massive power level was too much for both the elder goddess and the new one. The field started to speed up with Camilla and Senile falling to the ground from the earlier blitz by the goddess. Everything was returning to its normal speed.
"Ow," Camilla grunted with her armour crushing under her weight. Senile rushes over to her helping the warrior to her feet.
"Are you okay?" he asks in concern.
"Yeah," she replies standing to her feet. "What was that all about? We can't deal with such creature who can blitz us all to..."
"That won't be necessary," the god interrupts pointing to a panting Mindra. "Zemeta tired her out. We can match her speed now."
Mindras form had started to diminish turning her back to her basic appearance. The monstrous form she had manifested earlier in the fight was gone, she was back to her basic look.
"If you think we'd all give up and watch you destroy our world then you're sorely mistaken," the goddess of speed pants, wiping her bloody nose with the back of her hand. "My job is to protect everyone on earth, good or evil. I suggest you stay in your dimension with the other elder gods for earth is no longer yours, it now belongs to the new gods."
"You little shit!" the goddess thunders into the wind. "Watch your tongue before I..."
"Kill me?" she interrupts the elder. "You wouldn't be able to touch me if I stood right in front of you. We new gods might be cheap copies of you elder gods, but it doesn't make us less. We created lives on this planet just as you, watched humans grow old and die, watched kingdoms come and go. We gave powers to the powerless and protected the planet from external forces. This makes us defenders of this world by default. We vowed to protect this planet from the day we were created till the day it dissipates into nothingness and that is what we would do, no matter the cost."
"We will create it anew and bring forth new life from it..."
"What is wrong with the one we have now!?"
"A planet filled with abominable creatures should not exist."
Zemeta hacks a cough as she holds her sides with a wince of pain, "You mean like the vampires and the Scythian warriors as well as the goblins, dragons, demons, demigods and such."
"Exactly..."
"What happens with all the lives on this planet? You'll destroy us all like we're nothing and create another one for something as little as this."
"They will not know about anything. Oblivion shall be their paradise, it would be painless that I promise you."
The goddess falls to the ground with a knee, holding her aching sides whilst she coughed out blood. Senile rushes to her side with a screaming Camilla who proceeded to observe the wounds.
"You are hurt child, let me have a look..."
"Stay away from her!" Camilla yells out in defense.
"Impure creatures such as yourself is the reason I have to destroy this planet. You are a disease that needs to be eradicated."
Senile stands to his feet with clenched fists, "If you can keep away your intentions for just a minute and look deep within the hearts of everyone on the planet, pure and impure you would see that there is goodness in everyone. You would see humanity and a reason to save them from higher threats. Please mother, I beg of you to reconsider your position..."
"Enough!" Mindra growled not wanting to hear anymore pleas. "I had taken a liking to Zemeta for her powers and was prepared to give her a merciless death, but I can see that there is no saving anyone. Harsh punishment is what you will all get."
As the goddess levitates into the air, lightning flashing about her, I saw Zemeta pull from her armour a dark sword, handing it over to Camilla.
"I'll distract her with Senile, you stab her in the chest..."
"Zemeta..."
"This is the only way, Camilla," the goddess winces in pain. "I'm begging you."
Senile who seemed to have overheard the conversation between the two warriors frown, however, he knows his sister is right. Mindra has been shown to be stronger than anything they had ever faced, she needed to go down and since no earthly weapon could kill her, a weapon from one of the elder gods would do the trick.
"If that is how you want it to go, then fine, have it your way," Senile yells with his arms outspread as he prepares to tank the hits from the goddess.
"I'll create a prefect world with you in it," she sighs. "I promise."
Just as she blitzes into the god, Zemeta uses her last ounce of strength stored up to zip Camilla in-between the two contenders. The sword of Archeron whistled dangerously through the vacuum of space before piercing into the unsuspecting creature. This stops Mindras attacks mid-air as the lightning on her body disappears leaving the goddess surprised at her own defeat.
"This was your best plan?" Senile grunts taking his place behind his sister who still held onto a terrified Camilla.
"It was the only plan," she answers with a smile. "Now hurry up before she recharges herself."
The goddess recollects herself, the aura around her which had disappeared starting to form again, "Insolent children!"
"Now!" Zemeta yells prompting Senile to hold onto her releasing all his powers into her body which she channelled into the Scythian warrior who held the sword.
"This is for my people," Camilla growled before releasing insane amounts of powers from the two gods and the sword into the elder. The sword burnt through the goddess destroying her piece by piece until she was nothing but dust and wind.
They had won, I clapped in joy, but the price they had paid was dear. Sitting on the ground laid an armless Camilla and an elderly Senile.
"So this is the price," Camilla laughed looking down at the spots where her arms used to be at.
"Yeah," Zemeta says struggling to her feet.
"You look okay, at least you haven't aged. I can feel the weight of eons on me," Senile grunts helping a weakened Camilla to her feet.
The speedster looks at her hands wondering if she should laugh or cry, "My powers are gone. The only thing I've got with me is immortality."
"You mean your speed?"
"Yes Camilla," the goddess replies. "My speed is no more."
Something hit my chest in a painful way, I didn't know if their loss was a victory or a failure. Yes they had defeated Mindra but at a very hefty cost. With each battle against the individual gods becoming more intense, I wondered what loss would come up next.
