Chapter 48 - Bad blood

The scenery changes with Dromedipectus tossing Mephistopheles away with a slap. The god retaliating with a flame blast to the elders face.

"How cute," she smiled before punching the new god away, the ground shattering with the effect of the punch.

"Do you need help?" Aurora asks from the sky, her red aura blinking with dangerous power.

"No..." the god answers getting to his feet. "I can handle her, you get others to safety."

"I've already done that..."

"Aurora!" he shouts in command turning to face the new goddess."I've got this."

Just as he was done with that statement, a punch from the elder knocks him fifty feet away from where he stood leaving Aurora to face her alone.

"Do you think you can take me on?" the elder chuckles shaking her head in annoyance. "The disrespect is getting bigger with you children coming up with ways to kill us. But I'm here to tell you that not all of us can die."

"As long as you bleed, you can die."

"Aurora is it?" the elder continues with the new goddess dropping on the ground. "Daughter of Uranus and goddess of the seasons, only second to Kamalu."

"First," the new goddess corrects.

"Oh, I see you got rid of Kamalu."

"And you're going down next," she answers getting into a battle stance.

"I'm not like her," the elder commences, increasing her pace towards the new god. "I'll give you a demonstration."

Out of her cloak, hands like shadows emerge each wielding the swords of Archeron.

"This is where it ends," I heard my mother say her body glowing a deep stable red this time. Moving her arms around in synchronous movements she created a ball of light which had some sort of gravity effect. The ground started to get sucked into the ball she held up.

"You took her powers too?" Mephistopheles asks when he had joined in beside her.

"Our base powers are not enough, we need to merge with theirs before we can take them out," she explained not moving her gaze from her target.

The elder god blitzes into the new gods but this time they were ready, for as soon as she got into the range of the gravity ball, Mephistopheles creates a sword from shadows slicing the elder in half.

"Impossible!" the elder screams but they were not done yet. Aurora makes the ball grow bigger jumping into the air with it before slamming the ball into the elder destroying the landscape they stood on.

"Go create a portal for the wounded!" Aurora strains in concentration.

"But..."

"Just go, I'll pin her down till you get back."

The dark god hesitates for a second before zooming off to meet the others on the field, creating portals and tossing the wounded back into earth with enough speed to break the sound barrier.

"Just take him," Raïs suggested to the dark god who had dropped in to aid them out, pointing to Moon wolfs bleeding face.

"What about you?" he asked in concern creating a portal for the creature. "You can't stay here, it's too dangerous."

Raïs touches the locket on his neck with a distant look in his eyes, "Vilga gave me something, I'm sure I can use it to trap the elder gods."

Mephistopheles uses his shadows to lift moon wolf into the portal closing it up before turning back to his brother, "How do we know it can work?"

"Trust me brother. I've looked into the future, we will win this war and I've seen how."

"At what cost?" my father asked bothered about the outcome of looking into the future.

"It doesn't matter..."

"Tell me..."

"No, you have your abilities and your duty and I have mine," Raïs negates having a staring match with the dark god.

"Mephistopheles!" I heard my mother call out from the battlefield, the destruction from her ball getting larger by the minute.

"Fine, you should help her while I finish with the wounded," the dark god smiles, flying towards the other warriors with Raïs running towards Aurora.

"I don't need you to take me out, I'm fine..."

"Camilla, you have no arms, what are you going to do?" Zemeta reminds the stubborn Scythian as Mephistopheles creates a portal for the three warriors.

"It's ready," he announces with Senile helping Camilla to her feet.

"Make sure you kill them and come back alive," Senile taps on his brothers chest, walking through the portal with a limping Camilla and an already passed out White Stag.

"Your turn," Mephistopheles says to Zemeta who looks back into the battle.

"I'm not going back... yet..."

"Zemeta there's nothing you can do..." Senile grunts from outside the portal.

"Please Meph, do what we used to do as children. We're the only ones who had the power to do that."

"What is she talking about Mephistopheles?" Senile grunts again.

"It would kill you especially since your powers are gone." Mephistopheles continues ignoring his brothers cries to know what was going on.

"We can still try it out even now. The situation calls for it," the goddess reminds him.

"Can someone tell me what is going on?" Senile grunts even louder with the portal closing slowly. "Mephistopheles what are you doing!?"

The dark god looks at his brother whispering a few words to him before the portal shuts down, "It is the only way."

"No!" Senile shouts limping to jump back into the portal but it closes before he has a chance to near it.

The ground below them starts to crack and quake, the destruction on the elder gods plane becoming more massive with each god letting loose.

"This is it," he smiles opening his palms.

"This is it," she smiles back, dropping her palms in his as the shadows around him flows into her body changing to white.

"What are they doing?" I asked Callipso.

"HE'S GIVING HER HIS POWERS, GIVING HER A TEMPORARY BOOST. IT WOULD LAST FOR A MINUTE OR TWO BUT KNOWING THAT SHE'S A SPEEDSTER THAT IS MORE THAN ENOUGH TIME TO CAUSE IRREPARABLE DAMAGE."

The ground they stood on cracked open, magma bursting through the crust covering everywhere while melting the fallen warriors as well as their weapons into nothing. The both of them levitated into the sky, lightning clashing around them. Zemeta grunted opening her eyes to reveal a white light glowing from them.

"I'm back," she smiled watching the light dissipate from her body.

"We don't have much time and I'm weaker than before, you're our only hope now," the dark god said panting in the sky with his sister.

"Oh don't you worry, one minute is more than enough time for me."

"Mephistopheles now!" Raïs called out as the gravity ball Aurora had created to hold down the elder goddess broke apart revealing an already healed and enraged goddess.

"That's my cue?" Zemeta asked.

"That's your cue," the dark god answered with the goddess zipping away from field.

"Where is she going!?" Aurora strained while she tried to create another gravity ball.

"You'll know soon enough," the dark god whispered before blitzing into the elder goddess, sending both of them into the depths of the magma filled crust.
