Percival looked at the civilian recruits behind him.
"Quickly get up, the rest of Lt Marion's team will arrive in approximately 5 minute if we stay here."
Percival wanted to be ready for the next big encounter with June thus he had to prepared for a big fight.
"Sir, how are we going to win this spar? From how things have progressed thus far it looks like it will be very difficult"
Ross asked as he could feel that the chances of a possible success were very low.
"Don't count yourself out just yet. Hart and Katz, are you ready to move?"
"Yes Sir."
There were still looks of pain in the faces of Sheryl and Grant, at least due to their mage bodies they were healing very quickly.
"Good. We will be travelling much faster and using movement type spells."
'We have to get there quickly if we want to have a chance of salvaging this situation.'
The civilian nodded as they started to cast their movement type spells. They also moved at the speed of the slowest person, however that person was using a wind type movement spell thus they could still move very fast.
Two minutes later Grey and the military academy recruits meet up with June. June observed the team for a few seconds before starting to talk.
"Recruit Grey, good job taking over whilst I was not around."
"I understand Mam, what are your orders going fourth?"
The was a look of cringe on June's face when Grey called her 'Mam'.
'I am only 18 years old you know, now I being called like a middle aged woman.'
However Grey did not comment on her cringe face.
"Well. Trying to bait Percival didn't work. We will be going for the more direct method."
The recruits had serious looks, thus far in this whole spar they had done nothing and they were raving to go to work.
"We will adjust the formation for a five person offensive formation. I will be in the front together with recruits Grey and Bon."
June turned to Bon.
"Recruit Bon, I need you to move much faster than you were before. Percival and his team have started to run."
Bon was starting to understand that in these type of situations where speed is very important he would not be able to compete.
What he now needed to do was use a speed type combination type spell in order to keep up with the normal speeds of the rest of his team's normal speed type spells.
Bon did not waste any time and started to cast his best speed type combination speed, tier 1 combination speed [High Pressure Steam Release Propulsion].
As soon as the spell was casted, jets of steam started to come out around Bon's body, in order to use this type of spell a person had to control multiple jets of high pressure steam.
The spell was not usually used because of its difficulty, but not so for a talented person like Bon.
"Go!"
Junes' team immediately went to a chase situation, you could see Bon's talent in casting, he did not have a problem using the steam jets to control himself in a forest environment.
'Bon is really talented in casting and control.'
Grey thought as he looked at the cool looking jets shooting around Bon like a space ship in space.
The teams were only separated by a few minutes, however they already outside of each other's awareness range, thus Grey immediately casted [Air Dome] together with his [Light Step] as they were travelling.
"Recruit Grey, you can double cast?"
That was a rhetorical question on June's side that expressed her surprise. The rest of the team had heard rumours during their time in the academy that Grey could double cast thus it was not much of a surprise, but more of a confirmation.
"Mam, I have their position."
"Oh…?"
There was a more visible look of surprise of her face.
"Take my position and lead the way."
'What a nice spell there.'
There was a look on envy on her face. As stated, June was casting and spell genius, she could see the beauty of this type of scouting and tracking method.
"When we find them we are not going to waste time, we are going for a quick kill. Focus fire and target recruits Sheryl and Grant."
There was an evil smile on her face, as she thought of destroying Percival's team.
"Yes Mam."
'Ah… I have to get them to stop calling me that when there are no superiors around. I cannot stand it.'
"Sir… There is something wrong with the wind elements around us."
Sheryl reported to Percival as her intuition and her mastery of wind elements was telling her that there was something wrong around them.
"Recruit Katz, you can feel the disturbance?"
Percival asked with a surprised face. From his initial thoughts, he felt that only him with his tier 2 mage tier could feel the disturbance of the wind elements.
'It looks like her intuition is very strong, that must have been what help her narrow her thoughts towards the wind elements.'
"I believe this is mostly likely a scouting and tracking spell created by one of the military academy recruits."
Alice and Grant had looks of shock and some reluctance, they could hardly believe that someone raised by the military could have such talent in spell creation. They felt that with the guidance that they received as nobles, only they should have such abilities.
'It looks like I have a genius in my team, and now I am fighting against their methods.'
Percival thought as he was lamenting about the situation.
"Sir, doesn't that mean they have found us?"
Alice asked, sounding very concerned.
"Yes, they have found us."
Percival answered sounding still confident.
'Regardless of whether they found us, they cannot reach us before we get there.'
"Sir have we reached the position we are going to?"
Grant asked seeing that Percival was very confident, the poor fellow did not want to feel pain again. He might have hid it best when compared to Sheryl, he also felt the horrible pain of June's spell.
"We are almost there."
However Percival had underestimated Grey's ability a little bit too much.
"Mam, the enemy is my attack range."
After going after Percival's team for a few minutes, Grey put out a bombshell. There were looks of shock in the faces of the other recruits, June however managed to keep control of her emotions.
'Even my awareness has managed to pick up Percival and his team.'
June thought, as she processed Grey's words.
'Ahh.. I finally understand the use of this [Air Dome] spell, the scouting and tracking are only secondary. The spell's main ability is to allow him to attack from beyond his awareness and visual range.'
"Do it."
Grey stopped casting [Light Step].
Grey immediately started to cast tier 1 combination spell [Guided Incinerating Missile]. What was summoned by the spell was a few metres long concentration of fire and wind elements that looked like how a missile looked like in Grey's previous life.
When compared to June's [Bright Inferno Missile] Grey's missile looked smaller but his looked more like a missile. The spell even had the pointed tip and the control surfaces, however those were there to satisfy Grey's visual aesthetic.
Grey's team had looks of awe as the watched spell, the spell really looked beautiful but very dangerous. The red lines interacting with lines made of wind, it made the people want to have a spell similar to this.
'Grey is definitely a freaky genius.'
Bon thought to himself, as he remembered those magic ring designs that he saw when commissioning Grey to create a magic ring design for him.
Grey did not wait after the spell was summoned, he immediately launched the spell. The spell initially launched vertically like how missiles were launched in Grey's previous world. The spell then adjusted its self and went towards the position of Percival's team.
"Let's go, the spell will give us the chance to catch up with Lt Elrod's team."
Grey's eyes had a glint in them, he always wanted to test out the [Guided Incinerating Missile] spell, but he did not have a target to test it out on. The successful launching of the spell also ticked off Grey's fantasy of being a Missile Destroyer captain.
'Magic Worlds are really the best at satisfying fantasies.'
