Chapter 27 - Battle of the Four Queens

Noel crushed the enemies who stood there, giving a way for the three queens to pass in an instant. His new appearance shook everyone who saw it. Unlike his humanoid figure covered with a dark veil, he has now transformed into a giant black panther – more powerful and more agile than they have ever seen before. His feline-like eyes tantalize with devilish aura as both dark and white colors mixes, corrupts those who seek to destroy him. His razor-sharp claws can tear the enemy flesh into pieces, not minding the sturdiness of its target, treating all of them the same.

"I see that you needed help." Noel said in an arrogant but reassuring tone. His appearance in the battlefield can greatly increase the human's power. Especially that they're now on the brink of defeat.

Like death itself, collating the enemies on sight, Noel's new fearsome power has surpassed all the odds as he put end on almost every enemy in the north. However, that didn't continue when the queen ant brought out his wings and flew towards Noel in an instant using her weapons – daggers.

Noel successfully evaded the daggers with his claws but he was knocked back by the force the ant queen had given him, "Tsss, you're strong." Noel said, recovering from the impact.

Noel and the ant queen had exchanged numerous attacks that doesn't seem to end as two of them had an equal footing in the battle.

Kent saw how Noel had fought the queen on his own. She acknowledged the help but the other queens are on their way to the hive now, to finally put an end to the decades of hatred – executing revenge.

The queen of the butterflies flew elegantly above. Her purple wings reflect the moonlight that passes through it, giving everyone a glittering show of purple light. The butterfly queen had a staff with an orb on top of it. She then raised its weapon and a circle appeared on top of the northern earth wall where they stayed put, keeping the distance between them and the monsters below. The circle poured down a glittering dust below. "Sleep." The butterfly queen whispered. Her big giant eyes have expressed weariness and exhaustion, as if she has been deprived of sleep. And her voice sounded the same.

"What was that?" Matt said as he witnessed the dusts continue to fall down, about to reach them. "Take cover! That doesn't seem good." Kent shouted. But where would they take cover? The earth wall has no roof. There's no time to transport everyone downwards, they will be in touch with the dust seconds from now. Kent thought, alarmed to her classmates' safety, watching the glittering dust fall from the sky.

Suddenly, a white thread veiled everyone standing on the earth wall as Belle drew out her powers to protect everyone with a blanket of web that even a single peck of dust could not enter.

The butterfly queen bulged her weary eyes, after witnessing that her magic has been countered completely with the use of the webs.

Kent thanked Belle for her quick thinking, allowing everyone to be safe for a moment.

The earth trembled again as the termites who retreated came back again by the command of their queen who grew her wings made of pure color of white too and flew beside the weary butterfly queen. Her human features can never be denied as she possesses two hands and two feet like any human being have. The queen bee looked at the weary queen and patted her back. "M---My S---Sleeping spell has been countered." The butterfly queen stuttered as she fights her weariness while she continues to fly.

"That's fine. Go towards the East where you army is. I'll take care of it." the queen of the termites said where the butterfly queen flew right over them and into the East.

Kent heard what the termite queen had said, and Kent won't let her classmates be attacked by one of the queens in the East. She then drew her crossbow and fire poisonous arrows towards the butterfly queen who was about to past through them. However, the termite queen used her weapon, a great axe who materialized mid-air and stopped the arrows by shielding the butterfly queen herself. "Pity. The past queen bee, should've known better." The termite queen said as the arrows from Kent's crossbow fell onto the ground. The butterfly queen bowed her head, like she thanked the termite queen for protecting her and flew directly towards the east. Leaving Kent and the others on top of the northern earth wall.

The queen of the termites was seven-foot-tall, her body is made of pure white as well as her wings. He has and elongated butt that extended almost to her legs. "The tyranny of the queen bee has tarnished every bit of our chance of survival, giving us only but few of the remaining lands of the marshland. We were sad to hear that she was defeated by a mere human. We couldn't take exact revenge on her herself. But we still got a chance to put things right back and claim what is ours. We will exterminate all the bees in here and separate the land between us three." Said the termite queen.

Although tired from the battle, Kent flew to face the queen of the termites herself, above. She dropped her crossbow and the infamous long lance had emerged again. "In our defense, we didn't know the queen bee has committed such acts towards the creatures in the marshland, to all of you." Defended Kent.

"Those who descended from the queen herself has committed the same acts. You acquired her powers and skills. You're guilty of everything!" shouted the termite queen who immediately moved forward and launched an attack towards Kent. Kent drew her lance and parried the great axe with her weapon. Kent felt her body became heavier as the impact of the great axe was forced towards her. An axe as big as the queen herself would of course become a weapon of extreme destruction. Kent thought coping with the impact. The termite queen moved back. "If I'm fighting the past queen, I wouldn't even stand a chance." The queen of the termites said, taunting Kent.

"That means you should be thankful instead. You speak arrogantly, but it seems like you're nothing but a small fry." Kent replied. It wasn't wise to reply with a taunt to a furious enemy, but Kent was uncontrollably angry. She was weighing the responsibility of becoming a leader for months. This is the time where she let out that scream inside her head and be furious.

The queen of the termites screamed, angry towards what Kent had spoken and flew fast towards her. She swung her great axe aiming for Kent's body, but Kent evaded it with her agility. Kent looked at below and the others were keeping their gazes, looking worried. "Everyone, respond to the others in the South and Western walls! I can deal with this myself." Kent commanded. Jay, Belle and the others quickly nodded and ran fast towards the other borders, where everyone might need help.

"Summoning is the queen bee's unique ability. But I can see that your summons is limited and all are already occupied, leaving their queen here, alone." Teased the queen of the termites, while she leaked the blade of her giant axe.

Kent laughed, "I don't need my summons to defeat you. I am more than enough. Kent said, trying to catch her breath in hidden. Kent open her left hand and a little bee appeared; Kent released it into the air as if she was losing hope as she kissed it.

The queen of the termites smirked, "Have you finally accepted tour death and tried to say goodbye to you useless little bees? You speak so highly but you're in your limits now."

"Then kill me." Kent replied. The queen of the termites was right. Kent is on her limits now, the only thing that keeps her going is her anger. However, I cannot die, for the sake of everyone who fought for their lives just to live here, in this new world. Kent thought, catching her breath. One direct hit and I can surely be dead. My weary body is getting heavier and my wings can no longer support it. If Noel hadn't been here, we would've have faced the ant queen, too. That sure will lead to our demise and inevitable death. Kent thought again.

They exchanged a series of attacks again. Kent managed to defend herself again but she can no longer continue to fly. Without warning, Kent dropped her lance and has immediately deteriorated mid-air, like it was absorbed by the energy around them. She let herself fall by not using her wings anymore, accepting the fate in front of her. Being killed by the queen of the termites herself.

The queen of the termites smirked, "Such pity. Now, die."

The queen of the termites flew swiftly directly towards the falling queen bee who accepted her death as the termite queen had seen. Unbeknownst to her, a loud shriek echoed towards her as a black-winged humanoid bird appeared in an instant.

The queen of the termites tried to move but her body couldn't, paralyzed by the shriek. Only the eyes who will soon witness her death is the only sense remaining. He looked at the falling queen bee who she pursued earlier, grinning. "I might not be as strong as the past queen bee, but I wasn't alone." Kent raised her right hand and the once lost lance appeared again, materializing. With no hesitation, Kent threw her lance upwards, piercing the body of the queen of the termites who thought that victory was on her grasp when she saw Kent, falling helplessly towards the ground – to her death.

The termite queen saw the queen bee's lance pointing towards her. She knew, in that moment, that her life is going to end. The last sense who remained functional – her eyes. Closed itself, accepting its fate as the lance passed through her flesh.

Blood splattered as the lance passed through the queen of the termite's body, leaving nothing but a deep hole where the lance came through. Kent immediately dodge the queen of the termite's falling body by the use of her wings.

Kent looked at the sky, her face covered in green blood. Kent wiped her face so she can see the peaceful sky again, with its three moons, living with each other. "Thank you for your immediate response, Gloyd." Kent said slowly.

Gloyd flew towards the weary Kent, "I knew immediately that someone needed help when the bee acted oddly towards me. I guess I came right in time." Gloyd said happily as he continues to flap her enormous black wings.

"That was the last of my plan. If that didn't work. I would've died." Kent said, now looking at her knight, smiling. "Thank you." She added.

Gloyd and Kent both hugged each other as the battle continue to rage on. But now, without one of the queens.
