Chapter 26 - The Worst Guild

The group sat in the room, surrounded by corpses.

"How are we gonna get out of this?" Regina nervously asked.

"I can just store them in my Void storage and place them in the labyrinth somewhere." Aisrin offered.

"That might work for the bodies buy not the blood." Syphir replied.

"I'm sure the blood can be cleaned." Aisrin continued.

"You certainly seem not to be bothered by your own mess." Verenia muttered.

"They dared threaten what's important to me." Aisrin shrugged.

"Okay, so even if we do clean the scene, we still can't explain you." Regina pointed at Aisrin.

"What's to explain?" Aisrin asked in confusion.

"Well... you look... younger." Regina answered. Aisrin gave her a confused look and looked around for something to look into. He settled on a semi polished knife found on one of the bodies. Staring back at him was his sixteen year old self. The only difference between now and then, was his hair still retained its black and pink colors, as well as his permanently red eyes. He even shrunk a bit.

"How do we explain this?" Aisrin looked up and pointed at himself.

"Sin-san, are you really half Shadowkin?" Verenia questioned Aisrin, getting up close and personal with him.

"As far as I know." Aisrin replied shirking back a tad.

"Hmm... but Shadowkin don't regress in age when they eat humanoids. That's a Vampyre trait. As Regina should know, being half Vampyre." Verenia took her mask off as well as her cloak. She looked every bit a child as she sounded. Her long white/silver hair cascaded down to her shoulder blades.

Her ice blue eyes seemingly piercing through Aisrin. Her face reminded him of the elf he once traveled with in the slave wagon. Fair, delicate, and alluring.

"Sin-san, I think there's more to your bloodline than just Shadowkin. I can find out directly by taking in a part of your genetic code." Verenia explained.

"I'm good. You also could just say DNA." Aisrin responded.

"DNA?" Verenia looked at Aisrin strangely.

"Nevermind, not important. Why do you need to see into my bloodline anyway?" Aisrin dismissed and changed the subject.

"Because, you shouldn't be able to do the things you can do. Controlling shadows, regressing in age, Void storage, believe it or not, that's actually an Impkin ability. Controlling shadows is a Shadekin ability.

I have a special ability unique only to Devilkin. It's called 'Absolute Analysis'. I can find out everything I need to know about what I want to know about, simply by ingesting your DNA, as you say." Verenia further explained.

"Well, you won't find out much, only that I'm half human half Shadowkin." Aisrin continued to deny.

"I can use my 'Dominance' on you if you wish. But we will uncover your origins." Verenia threatened.

"Dominance?" Aisrin inquired.

"I am Devilkin, Royalty. I have the skill to overwrite your will for a short period of time, if I so wish." Verenia warned.

"...Fine. But be quick about it." Aisrin held his arm out, waiting to be cut or something to draw his blood. Instead, Verenia sat on his lap and wrapped her arms around Aisrin, her face dangerously close to Aisrin's. Her scent was more alluring than her looks.

Verenia leaned in and put her lips on Aisrin's, her tongue pushed into his mouth.

'What the... it's sweet, and kind of... tingly?'

Aisrins mind began to blank, astrange sensation of being drawn into Verenia vaguely filled his voided thoughts.

Regina a d Syphir stared at the two with a mixture of envy and embarrassment. The seemingly affectionate embrace lasted a total of 5 minutes. When Verenia broke from the kiss, Aisrin was left in blank shock. The incident still processing.

Verenia stood up, a disturbed look on her face. Aisrin finally snapped back to reality and shot up like a bullet and retreated from the small girl.

"I am not into children!" Aisrin exclaimed, his face red from embarrassment.

"That's rude! I'm seventeen!" Verenia exclaimed in return.

"And I'm twenty.... twenty.... how old am I again? Twenty two?" Aisrin questioned himself.

"We're both adults. That's not the issue, Sin-san... You have several bloodlines outside of just Shadowkin. Vampyre, Shadekin, Impkin, Incubi, Mimikin, and You have a strand of monster breed in you. A licht to be precise. It's as if someone were trying to create a separate Devilkin bloodline. That's the kind of monstrous, dormant, strength you possess." Verenia told Aisrin.

"Impossible. My father was a full blood Shadowkin." Aisrin denied.

"Sin-san, you are an abomination. Bluntly, you shouldn't exist. The human part of you, whether it's been over time, or if it's always been this way, is being completely engulfed by the Demon bloodlines you possess. The more you use 'Takeover', the further your bloodlines will progress. I'm not sure what the objective was for your creation though, which is very unnerving." Verenia sat down and pondered.

Aisrin stared at Verenia, and then grunted before moving on to gathering the bodies of their former assailants. The blood was impossible to clean up.

"I'm burning it." Aisrin stared matter of factly.

"Sounds good." Syphir agreed. The other two stayed silent and they all left out the back, into and alley, were Aisrin set to lighting the small building ablaze and the group left. They found a nice nearby inn, and decided to stay there, in separate rooms.

*Bordertown*

Iwata had been in a foul mood, the soldiers had discovered that the graves were protected by a Devine protection, preventing them from digging, otherwise they would incur the wrath of the God who protected them. But his mood was changed when news of 8 soldiers had been found dead in any a few weeks ago.

Iwata was busy at the scene, examining the slash marks left in the walls.

"The walls look as if they were cleanly sliced like a cake. No blade would cause this dimension of a cut. Void magic perhaps? How interesting. My, my, Aisrin-kun. We certainly aren't a good match. My holy magic, or your dark magic, which is stronger?" Iwara grinned.

*Fargas, the next morning after the attempted abduction.*

The group set out for the labyrinth early, Aisrin used Illusion magic to look like he had the dat before, a plan had now been set in motion to hid his new look, devised the night before. They were all transported to a long cave like tunnel this time. The plan was to encounter a 'horde' of monsters and make it look like Aisrin was 'overtaken' and 'injured beyond recognition'.

The group explored for a small while before Aisrin used his illusion magic to look hideously disfigured and torn to shreds. They then returned, carrying Aisrin and covering themselves in grime and the blood of the monsters they had encountered. placing the bodies of the assailants when they did. With this completed, they wouldn't be held responsible.

The soldiers guarding immediately called for healers, but the group denied their request, claiming that they would handle his mistakes. Claiming that 'Sin' got to full of himself and took more than he could handle. This excuse was easily bought by the soldiers and they shook their heads, situations like this happened more often than not.

Syphir had gifted Aisrin a pale blue mask made from her own scales and forged by sculpting with her own mana. It had no designs but the style reminded Aisrin of the full face ballistic armor he'd seen back in his military days, even though they were civilian and not militarized, he always thought they were cool.

"Now we don't have to explain anything." Aisrin commented.

"You're barely scraping by. But, you do look kinda cool with the mask. At least you already had a hood, otherwise you'd need a new cloak as well. It would be weird otherwise. A mask with no hood." Verenia replied. Three days had passed since then, the time they needed to truly conclude the story.

"I think it's time to return to the guild. I kind of want to do something, I hate being idle." Aisrin stated. The girls agreed and they headed for the guild, Aisrins new look garnered some looks, but no questions.

Upon entering the guild, the receptionist beckoned for them.

"Uhm, before the recent events, you guys had alot of attention from all the guilds in affiliation with is, bit, now you're on down to one. Unfortunately, we can't have you do work unless you are with a guild, so I would suggest accepting their offer." The receptionist explained.

"Sure. Who are they?" Aisrin replied unhesitatingly.

"Uh... Ahem, they are..... Night Dawn. This city's worst guild." The receptionist grimaced.
