Chereads / Jurassic Descent: I Can Evolve in My Dreams / Chapter 6 - Knocking On The Door

Chapter 6 - Knocking On The Door

As night fell, the scorching temperature of 60 degrees at noon would drop to around zero in just two hours.

The people in the market town all returned to their residences. Those who had doors would close them tightly, while those who lived in caves would use curtains to cover the caves' entrance.

When Haman came back in the evening, he also heard that a man who had left work at the shoe factory had been stabbed to death.

Someone said that because someone knew that this man had a habit of saving money, he had five hundred dollars hidden in his house, so he went to the man's house to rummage through his things while at work.

In the end, when it was time to get off work, he didn't find the man, but when the man came home, he stabbed the man to death during the fight.

People in the market town liked to live together. Their friends, brothers, and couples lived together and took turns to keep watch at night.

It was a little safer, and Haman and Holly did the same from the start.

But others had been harmed by the people they had partnered with.

These perpetrators were very short-sighted, and what they didn't know was that.

When they had harmed their companions, no one would believe them anymore.

They wouldn't trust a person who could be charged by someone they had spent every day with as they harmed.

Therefore, they could only become the lonely people Haman had met before. These people usually did not have a good ending.

"Brother, why don't you want to go to the wilderness with the city people?" Holly asked.

"It's nothing." Haman hung the curtain behind him. "Those people don't know what the wilderness is like, and I suspect that they're not only trying to catch living creatures."

"I think so too." Holly sat on the bedding and continued to sew.

Without raising his head, he said, "When I was at the church this morning, I heard that they were looking for something extraordinary, but it wasn't a dinosaur at all. It wasn't in the illustrated book."

Haman fell into deep thought.

Suddenly, he heard the sound of dense footsteps outside.

There were many people.

It was rare to see people walking around on the streets of the market town at night.

The temperature outside was a little low now.

There weren't many people having cotton-padded clothes in the entire market town. Haman quickly guessed who the person was and thought his purpose.

The capture team had to catch that animal this time. That animal was indeed not a dinosaur, but because it had a great background.

The ruler of Azure Dragon City had obtained some information that proved that the beast did not appear naturally. It was a hybrid of a dinosaur and a hyena.

They got the news about Haman from Chuck.

Although they had doubts about "Mental illness," they still asked some other people. It seemed that everyone thought that Haman was the best choice for them to choose as a guide.

Some people even wondered what was so special about this young man since everyone in the town approved of him.

Then they asked for more information about him and finally got some answers out of curiosity.

This boy was well-known at the age of 13.

Because this boy came back from the wilderness alone with a dinosaur leg in his hand and a little kid younger than him behind.

From then on, the two children relied on each other. Haman was responsible for hunting to make money and providing for Holly's education fee.

Haman would come back with his prey every few days. Sometimes there were some ordinary beasts, but gradually, he came back with the corpses of dinosaurs.

Moreover, Haman was also the only person who had seen the city.

There was a barren mountain on the east side of the town. As long as you stood on the top of the bare mountain, you could see the city from afar.

And it was also the direction where the capture team came.

The Barren Mountain was 60 kilometres away from the town. And Haman was the only person who could reach there and come back.

"By the way, Chuck." One of the team leaders accompanying them said to him, "What do you mean when you said he had a mental illness?"

"It's nothing. I'm just saying." Chuck said with a smile as the wrinkles on his face were squeezed together. "It's not a big deal. It is not serious. Look, we'll arrive in front."

Chuck only dared to come out at night with these nobles from the city.

At this time, he deliberately raised his voice as if he wanted to let everyone in the town know that he, Chuck, had a good relationship with these people from the city.

"Haman, come out quickly. We have an important guest," Chuck shouted with a smile.

Suddenly, the curtain of the cave was lifted.

"Haman, the important guests want to go to Mount Roman. They need a guide. Do you know how to get there?" Chuck grabbed Haman's hand and asked with a smile.

Haman pondered for a while and said, "I can only say that we will never reach there before we reach Mount Roman."

Chuck:"???"

The arresting team:"???"

The arresting team pointed at Haman and looked at Chuck. "Did this sick person say that?"

Chuck was also a little flustered. "He was still fine when they were discussing business earlier in the day. Why is her like this now?"

"Haman, don't be anxious." Chuck quickly gave Haman a look.

Then, he said, "We didn't understand what you said just now. Why don't you tell us more about it? If you bring the guests to Mount Roman, we'll pay you for sure."

Then Haman pulled his hand out of Chuck's hand and said calmly, "I can only say that if you understand, you'll understand. If you don't understand, you'll never understand. Those who can understand can only understand themselves. You still don't know who can understand, so everyone thinks that he can understand. They just think others don't understand. You're the only one who doesn't understand. So, it's not good to know too much. Do you understand?"

The capture team leader quickly pulled Chuck aside and said snappily, "Is he still fine since he talked like this now?"

"Chuck, do you know the consequences of lying to us? Is this what you meant by 'it's not a big deal?"

As soon as he finished speaking, the capture team turned around and left.

They had a great expectation of the legendary Haman, but now it turned out to be a mental patient.

No wonder the people in market town said that this kid was mentally ill. "Isn't he mentally ill?

Haman stood at the entrance of the cave and watched the capture team slowly leave.

Chuck was still apologizing to him. "Although Haman was mentally ill, it was not that kind of illness. Let me explain..."

The capture team did not want to listen to his explanation. "Chuck, I'll give you one last day to find a suitable candidate for us. We cannot use this guy even if he is not sick. We have to set off tomorrow. Don't cause trouble for us!"

Haman stood at the entrance of the cave, gloating as if nothing had happened.

However, at this moment, the little man sitting in the car earlier turned around and glanced at Haman.

It made Haman feel as if he had been seen through.

He couldn't even see the expression under his beret, but now he felt a little nervous.
