Chereads / I have to Love You (English Version) / Chapter 28 - Between promises.

Chapter 28 - Between promises.

I was a little suspicious when my steps followed Jebran's path in the office hallway. I and, Jebran entered the same elevator to go downstairs. He glanced at me slowly, but I pretended not to see.

"Why? You don't like your promotion?" Jebran complained in a lowered tone.

"Hmm, no!"

"I'm just confused. And it makes me feel uncomfortable."

"I'm afraid that there will be misunderstandings about me in the eyes of other colleagues," I said while looking down.

"You know who Susie is?" Jebran diverted the question.

"Hmm, you know. She is your cousin, isn't she?" I said.

"Well! I deliberately put him in his position because you would be taller than him. I saw your performance and hard work, but not that you were my lover. I once told you that I was a cruel boss, and you admitted it!" said Jebran.

"Oh, I hope you don't choose love!" I looked up at the ceiling. However, Jebran stood in front of me and pushed my body against the wall. One of his hands blocked my path.

"Why are you here?!" I grumbled.

"Remember! I'm your boss in this office, and I'm not a cheap guy! So I hope you can understand what I decided today."

"No favoritism, but I am a man who seems based on reality!"

Jebran looked at me with serious looks. I had fallen into awkward and bitter feelings slowly. However, luckily the door opened soon.

"That, the door is open," I pointed.

Jebran returned his body position, then avoided me with his still haughty style. I really can't move when he's serious. But this kills me even faster. Why did I become a weak figure when he managed to capture my heart? I just took a deep breath while watching his back which was getting further away.

All my eyes looked straight at the workspace still looked crowded. Some of them have left the office due to important business out there.

"Emira," Arga called.

"Yeah," I said take my seat at my workplace.

"Eh, soon you will rarely sit here. But, congratulations on your promotion! You rose faster than us," Rendi said with the best smile. His sweet and cute face is the type of man that many women desire.

"Thank you," I said.

"I will miss you!" call Arga whining.

"Eh, how about tonight we celebrate together," Gilang suggested.

"I agree!" continued Susi while typing on the keyboard.

I looked at each of the faces that looked happy. I responded with a peaceful nod in my heart. "Ready!"

"Then, I will choose a place," suggested Arga.

"Hey! Which man knows the most fun place? Let me look for him," Susi snarled, releasing her hand from the keyboard.

"I know a place that can fill us up and forget our tiredness at the same time. There's a smoked meat restaurant just down the street. I think you know that too!" Susi suggested glancing at each face.

"Looks like we're going to spend the night there, huh? Agree?!" Arga said.

"Okay!" I said.

"Then let's not go home yet. We have to be there until midnight," Rendi shouted.

"Ready!" continued Gilan.

I laughed as I clenched my teeth tightly. See the behavior of each of the happy men, which we certainly rarely did on this tiring day.

The sun was sinking. Dilan parked his car in front of an empty building that he had suspected.

Brack!

He broke down the gate fiercely. On his left side was shrouded the gun he had reached. With all her courage under the dimming sun. He screamed, "Mehmed!"

"Uncle Mehmed, come out!!" he shouted louder.

There was no longer a vein of fear and anxiety when he passed several people who had scattered to meet Dilan.

With a gun in hand, all of Mehmed's dark forces blocked his path.

"Order that I come here to ask for an appointment!" called Dilan by handing a gun.

Not long after, Mehmed walks leisurely towards Dilan was no weak soul anymore afraid.

Mehmed clapped when he saw Dilan coming alone.

"Give me back my sister, or I'll make you suffer," Dilan threatened.

"Hahaha," laughed Mehmed.

"You grew up well after your family cornered. I'm proud of you!" Mehmed said.

"Tell me, where is my sister? bastard!" Dilan growled.

Dorr!

Dilan launched a gun into the sky.

Mehmed, who had been smiling, finally fell silent. Some of Mehmed's troops were in a state of alarm. Now, they were protecting Mehmed from all directions.

Mehmed raised his hand, "Leave us alone!"

"But, Boss?" cringed one of the men.

"Follow my orders!" she screamed.

"Okay, Boss!" said in unison.

Dilan and Mehmed looked at each other. Four eyes meet each other promise, where everyone who once kept a secret is now slipping away.

"Remember, Mehmed! You and I will soon rot in prison. But, before we both fall into that, give my sister back!"

"I will not interfere with your life again! And I will not approach Emira again," said Dilan, lowering his shooting position.

Mehmed was silent, without a single look of uneasiness. And still, hear Dilan's lamenting chatter.

"But, if you refuse. Then, I will not remain silent!" call Dylan.

"Tell me, where is my sister!" Dylan repeated.

"Tomorrow at seven o'clock, I'll wait for you here! But come like this. Otherwise, your sister will lose her life," pleaded Mehmed.

Dilan looked straight into Mehmed's eyes, which looked fine. Will the lewd mafia keep that promise?

Each promise was so perfect every mistake was embedded in each of their grips.

***

There was the smell of BBQ smoked meat. The delicious aroma was perfect, the smoke billowing in the air. A long dining table that is neatly arranged on the outskirts of the street is so appetized.

Friends gathered over the crowd at the dining table. My co-workers and I enjoyed a delicious meal to our heart's content.

Said to celebrate me for my promotion. But, I see that it is more likely to enjoy each man.

Gilang and Rendi almost snatched my ration of grilled meat. However, Arga stole it from them for me.

"This is for a best friend!" he said.

I accept the meat theft that Arga did for me. My smile and mouth was almost unable to contain the amount of portion I received.

"Hey, you stole my meat?!" Rendi complained to Arga.

"Ah, you guys always get a lot of rations, while Emira only has a few pieces," Arga grumbled.

"Come on, don't make a fuss! If it's not enough, we'll order again," I insisted.

"But that's true! Who celebrates? Who eats who?" continued Susi.

"It's okay. It's okay," I said.

"I'm sorry, Miss Emira. I'm happy about your promotion!" Rendi roared at me.

"Ah, never mind! Hahaha," I chuckled.

I saw laughter, joy, smiles, screams, and even sighs among them. How could I forget those faces? They live almost every day of my life when hard work is the benchmark in our lives.

This work is solid and familiar. Let's hope this relationship never goes away!

I'm happy and grateful!

I smile.

Happy today.

Tomorrow and beyond.

You will find surprises in the next chapter.
