it was on a Sunday morning and I was assisting Annabelle,a servant at the house as she was washing the plates we had used to eat breakfast.
she was washing them in warm soapy water, while I was rinsing and drying them with a clean towel.i eventually asked her why she didn't make use of the large dish washer in the kitchen, she weirdly answered that manual plate washing was a chore she loved doing.
I was dressed in loosed white singlets and a shirt knitted skirt that had Annabelle commenting on it,when she stepped out of the kitchen for a minute,Thandeka khumalo walked in.
it was from jabu I knew that Thandeka wasn't kilowanje's real mother instead she was his stepmother, that was why she was younger and had no close relationship with kilowanje.
"morning Mrs Mandla"
"oh ,call me Thandeka"she insisted as she grabbed a glass cup of cold water from the gigantic refrigerator in the kitchen.
"so, you're really becoming close with wanje"she was standing beside me,her back leaning on the island in the kitchen and her arms folded.
The atmosphere felt tense and awkward,I wasn't sure of how to answer so I nodded."yes he's a tutor of mine".
she furrowed her brows as if she was thinking of something important and she answered."well it's nice to have a smart brother".saying those cryptic words she kept the empty cup next to me left.
was she referring to jabu being a brother to kilowanje?,or was there something else?I pondered until I started to feel the beginning of a migraine and I left the kitchen.
I was coming out of my room to look for my mother downstairs, when I saw kilowanje dressed in a black shirt and jeans,d single diamond piercing on his left ear made his handsomeness more appealing.
"hey" I greeted still shy and tried hard not to smile. He nodded."you're going somewhere?"I couldn't stop myself from asking.
yeah.." he answered.
"let me tag along please I'm so bored at home&qut;.He shrugged, knowing kilowanje and I knew it was a yes.i rushed upstairs and grabbed a jean jacket and my small purse,I rushed outside to the garage and saw him behind the steering wheels, maneuvering it out and looking so handsome..

I was surprised when kilowanje had driven to a shopping mart and bought me a large cone of vanilla flavored ice cream because I told him I've never tasted one,he said it was his gift to me for being a good student.
He then drove to a Hilly Clift side that have a breathtaking view of sandton with it large architecture and quaint surrounding.
The sun was setting low and smearing orange beautiful warm Rays over the horizon as we sat on the hood of his car and enjoyed the beauty in comfortable silence.
"Do you love your life right now?"he quietly asked out of the blue in his deep male baritone voice which made me shiver inside.
"yes I am.."I answered with absolute certainty, smiling at him.
"Do you?"I asked back as I took a scoop of my melted ice cream.
"not really but these days I feel different, better"he answered and I asked."why?".He gazed deeply into my eyes and answered."you". I was trapped in his gaze and speechless.
I would have staring at him for much longer with the melted ice cream on my hand if his phone didn't ring,he excuse himself and went to take his call.
my heart was beating so fast as I watched his handsome physique from a distance,I knew this wasn't a profession of love neither did it mean he liked yet but I felt so elated and close to tears.
He walked back to me and said it was getting late we should head back home.

when we walked into the house,Mrs Thandeka was entertaining two other female guests in the sitting room, they were dressed lavishly and sipping wine from tall champagne flutes.
she watched us as kilowanje left for his room and she called me.
"oh lerato dear can u bring a glass of hot water from the kitchen,I can't find these servants anywhere".
I nodded, not wanting to look disrespectful if I refused her,I went to the kitchen and poured the hot water from a neat sparkly kettle.
I was wondering what she wanted to do with a hot water as I reached her and I reached out to give it to her.
she reached for it and she knocked it over in a drunken gesture with her hand.
"ouch!"I yelped in pain due to the hot water spilling on my hand.
she gasped and grabbed my hand which resulted in more pain."lerato I'm so sorry...oh goodness". I bite back the urge to cry when all of a sudden, kilowanje came running into d sitting room.
He pushed Thandeka aside and grabbed my wrist to inspect my hand that was showing signs of mild burning.
"Are you okay? Does it still hurts?" I was speechless hearing the concern and panic in his voice. He led me to his room leaving behind his step mother and her cohorts watching us.
He made me to sit on his bed and took a cool balm from his bedside table drawer. He sat down beside me,I watched with my smile on my face as he gently applied the balm attentively.
He raised his head and caught me staring at him,I was blushing and suddenly felt shy.His eyes dropped to my lips and I slowly swallowed letting my imagination run wild.
my eyes widened when he began to move his face closer to mine,I could swear I heard the fast pace at which my heart was beating and I closed my eyes when our lips finally met.
my first kiss
