Chapter 23 - ???

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck…'

So much blood, who the fuck was that? Stupid piece, not enough spaces to take them. Why wouldn't they let me take them…

Laying my partner's body against a nearby concrete wall, he lets out a groan of pain.

"What piece was that? I don't remember them…" He hisses out trying to sit up a bit more, my hand finding a spot on his leg as I help him.

"Hell, if I know!? You're the one that got shot!" Standing up straight I start to pace the room in thought "We have been working at this for months how in the hell did we miss one?"

"How much of the board is left?" Shrugging my shoulders, I fall back against the opposite wall.

"I can't remember. My books in the truck, and right now isn't really the best time to be leaving you looking like shit."

"Call them…"

"And get another mark to our names? No thanks." We argue amongst ourselves for a little bit before the crimson leaks from under his upper thigh. "You know what!?" He hums for a second before lifting him up against my side. "In all this hassle they wouldn't really notice us… right?"

"You are an idiot…"

"Hey! better idea then summoning them and getting our asses chewed out!" I snap pulling him up a bit and cautiously making my way towards my truck. "Lets just be lucky that little trick you pulled got us this close." Pulling the passenger side door open, I push him inside before getting into the driver's side and scrambling for the keys. "Where the hell do you keep the keys?"

"Glove box."

Slapping myself in the forehead, I pull the keys out and rev the engine.

After a few minutes of driving up and down different side roads we reach the hospital, which isn't that desolate as the storm raged on. Turning the truck off I pull him out of the passenger side, his head lulling forward as we get to the sliding glass doors.

"Don't you leave me in this game alone…" I grumble shuffling through the double doors shouting. "CAN I GET SOME HELP OVER HERE!"

The two receptionists quickly usher other nurses over, taking my partner and leading me towards the waiting room.

"And what's your friends name?"

"My husband's name is Linus McIntyre, just go help him already!" She nods quickly jotting that down before disappearing, and only then once she's gone does the decision finally dawn on me. "Fuck… to much…" I curse falling back into the seat, a sudden anger flooding me as I tap my fingers against the arm of the chair. Other patients sit there silently, as I quickly stand striding over to the receptionist desk. "Excuse me?"

"Yes sir?"

"I'm going to go step out for a minute for air if anything comes up for McIntyre, please come get me." She nods before I turn and walk away.

'I got to figure out who that piece is? Got to finish this game before we end up in hotter water then we are already in…'
