The soft beeping is the first thing to register in my weary eardrums as I blink a few times, the illuminant light above causing my head to thud painfully.
Once everything begun to clear though is when my heart started to race. Shooting up the constraints on my arms doing their job and keep me against the bed. Cursing a voice to my right makes me jump.
"So, finally awake? Took you long enough…" Looking towards the voice my heart plummets, The Chief of Police sits with his arms crossed over his lap.
"Shit…"
"That be right in some point but for now you got some questions to answer."
I can already feel my throat drying up as anxiety pulls out all the stops, my brain is on full hyper drive try to figure out what in the hell is going on. When I start to hyperventilate those is when he gets up, crossing the room he lays one hand on my shoulder the other being placed on my chest to keep me still.
"Breath, no one is going to hurt you, you just got to tell me what I need to know."
"W-Where is Olen?"
"Olen? Your partner in crime?" He is giving me a once over as I take slow breaths trying to calm down the small streams of water that fell from the corner of my eyes.
Before he could ask anymore that young girl from the school walks in. Why can't I recall her name? Iris? Oliver? Olive! Yes, that's it! Oh, how I wish she hadn't seen what my partner had to do… but it's hard-to-get pieces any other way at this point.
"Olive? Didn't I send you home?" Stalking over to her, she shrugs her shoulders and walks passed him.
"You're not the only stubborn fool in the family. We're getting to the bottom of this one way or the other might as well stay up for the fun."
As she speaks a soft tingle of smoke against my wrist calms me down, a soft smile gracing my face before Olive starts explaining things. Olen, the bag of pieces, what may have happened, and why we are possible doing this.
"Y-you are pretty close to the mark…"
The look on the Chief's face is impressed, as he takes a seat back in one of the two plastic chairs.
"And how did you come up with this?" He questions, before Olen makes his presence known.
"Kind of had a field day with the kid, pretty smart compared to her father that's for sure." Jumping he draws his pistol towards Olen who stretches popping his back before laying his hand against my shoulder. "We sort of got an understanding in a sense."
"An Understanding!? You have been killing my people since you got here?!"
"Since someone's Father thought he could cheat against a Demon! Not my fault he didn't think things through. He wanted to sacrifice the whole town to get what he wanted!" A hand slaps over his mouth as he looks between the young girl and the chief both are now wide-eyed, turning their heads to look at him.
"What?"
"You and your big mouth…"
