The woman in a light brown suit escorted me and Sean to the town hall. Sitri said that she's not needed and Sophia tended to Anna's legs, so only Sean and I followed.
I had an inkling as to why he's being called, so I decided to follow them out of curiosity. "Looks like things calmed down," I commented, watching the people, who were in a state of panic earlier from the aura released by that dragon, returning their calm.
"It's a good thing we had soothing pills," The woman in a light brown dress heard my comments and replied calmly. But the "had" part caught me a little worried because it probably means they don't have any reserves left.
"Why would Divine Spirit Galaxia come here anyways?" Sean asked. The name 'Galaxia' caught my attention as that same name came out of Anna's mouth. If so, then I think that dragon is just well-known that even Anna knows it.
But something else caught my attention. "Is a divine spirit different from celestials?" I asked. The woman looked at me with confusion. Wondering why she did, I returned the same expression.
"I'll explain," the woman in light brown suit sighed before saying, "I don't know how you know of celestials, but I heard they are existences that are born from another reality. On the other hand, you have spirits that are born from this reality."
"From what I heard, celestials should be stronger because their abilities can somehow alter reality through conceptualization, while spirits are most powerful in terms of magic. Uhm... I don't really understand what those realities are either, so I can't explain properly."
She tried to explain it to me with simplicity. She probably thought that I have little knowledge regarding the realities, but it's reasonable because of my body's age.
Although my knowledge is still full of confusion, like Velxia said, I'll understand it when I get there. I turned my attention to Sean who was listening with sparkling eyes. "So, these celestials are even stronger than Galaxia?" he asked.
The woman simply nodded. "Wait, what about that Galaxia's reason for roaming here?" Sean had already asked this but I accidentally interrupted the woman's reply, so I repeated the question.
"Unfortunately, the baron would be the one to explain the details for this," She explained. I look at Sean from the corner of my eye and it seems like he understood what the woman meant.
We arrived at the town hall and were redirected to the asphalt paved garden at its back. At the end of the garden is a mansion which I assume to be the barony.
The woman rang the chimes near the giant double doors of the mansion. After a few moments, an old man wearing a butler uniform opened the door. He bowed and greeted Sean before escorting us to a room on the first floor where a lot of important-looking people gathered.
The room was spacious, proven with the giant oval table in its middle. The other side of the wall had two open giant windows of about two meters in length and a meter in width, allowing the scent of the ocean to flow in the room.
"It's an honor to meet the heir of house Florence of Tor Ymtria," the dignified man at the end of the oval table stood up and greeted Sean. Since I don't feel the need to be concerned with that, I relaxed myself a bit.
"The pleasure is all mine, lord of house Bellos of Vox Paradia," Sean returned the greeting with the air of nobility. I know that he's nobility, but I seem to have forgotten that because of how easy-going he is from our short time together.
He reminded me of a certain young count from my old world with the only difference of that young count being an annoyingly weepy count.
After exchanging greetings, the lord of house bellos asked Sean to sit down. Although I was also allowed to sit down, I figured doing so would be disrespectful knowing that these are all people of high status, so I just stood up from beside Sean.
Besides, I'm only here for the sake of my curiosity, so it's fine even if I don't join their conversation. Sean seems to have understood my line of thinking as he didn't persuade me and hurried on with the topic at hand.
The discussion went on until it got dark, but it was fruitful because of the vast information they were able to share. From what I heard, there seems to be a demon who stole an artifact from the vicinity of Dorr Valia.
This demon used that artifact to mutate beasts into nastier beings at a cellular level, causing a disorder in the ecosystem and a silent war between the mutated beasts and lower spirits. This apparently awakened one of the four living calamities of the world, the divine spirit Galaxia.
And because of his awakening, dungeons began appearing one after another, causing a state of panic between the guilds from major cities. From what I heard, these guilds seem to be independent organizations that have different purposes.
The soothing herbs, which would alleviate any negative effects caused by powerful auras, were supplied by one of the guilds. However, since this town is generally a vacation town and a small trade port for a part of Vox Paradia, the South-west dominion, it didn't have any guild branch.
What's more, it seems that a dungeon appeared within the vicinity of Bellos, so the officials of the town are discussing plans for both safety and countermeasures in case of a dungeon outbreak.
As a noble from a marquis household, Sean is obligated to help the people of this town. I already expected this, and it seems that I was right. In the end, they decided on a dungeon siege to prevent a dungeon break.
It also seems that we're also staying here for a few months, but only after the reinforcements from the guilds come. In exchange, our accommodations were now free and we are to live within the barony for the time being.
With that, the discussion ended smoothly. Although I say smooth, I could feel that there is tension in the air that even Sean isn't exempted on. I've never really experienced whatever they're saying, but I understood that the situation is terrible.
After the discussion, we were escorted back by the same woman from earlier to our suite. "Are you okay with this, White?" Sean asked me, after all, I wasn't part of the obligated party and I could simply just continue my journey with Sophia. However...
"Yeah. If we decided to walk our way through Ius Viride, we might arrive there only after a year," I replied. If a carriage ride would take a couple of months, then I don't know how long it'll take with just me and Sophia only walking.
What's more, although Sophia and I could probably handle beasts and chimera beasts, I'm pretty concerned about the possibility that we'll get caught up in a dungeon outbreak as they have discussed earlier.
So it would be faster to just get this over with and continue our journey together and it's certainly not because I enjoy their carriage's luxuries. I was also worried about the old man and Kyla who are high up in the mountain, but since Velxia is there, it probably won't be a problem.
"Aren't the people of this world lucky," I unconsciously muttered. The phrase "Noblesse Oblige" is certainly a value of nobles and it seems that the nobles of this world take that value to heart and further raise it.
This made me think that it have been truly different if the gods reigned over my old world as they do here. Sean picked up on my murmurs but decided to just smile and nod before looking at the colorful auroras and twinkling moons and stars the dark sky shone.
I didn't know when they had opened it, but the lights from the lamposts that looks like a small sun, shine radiantly as they trailed the railings facing the sea.
"Come to think of it, how do you know of celestials?" Sean asks, "even our tutors don't teach those." I did think it was strange that these guys haven't heard of it. Although I can just explain my story, it would be troublesome so I just found an excuse.
"I just read it from books. It says there that even gods are celestials, so I wondered what entities could be considered celestial and what's not," I responded, but Sean eyed me with a perplexed expression on his face.
"Gods are also celestials?" He asks. I recall him saying the title of the celestial armament god, but does he perhaps only know the title and not what celestials truly are?
"I don't know either since I just read it from a book," I responded shruggingly. It would be a pain if questions started flying one after the other, so it's best to end this conversation now.
The woman who guided us bowed and excused herself after escorting us to our suite. I forgot to ask for her name, but we would probably meet a lot anyways, so I just let it be. Opening the door to our suite, it was strangely quiet.
There was no dangerous aura leaking out, but sean and I decided to be on alert regardless. We arrived in front of the door to my room where we left Sitri and the rest and heard two people who sounds like they were groaning in pain.
Out of uneasiness, we readied ourselves and opened the door. "Ugh... you guys are late," Sitri who was laying down on the sofa had a pale look on her face. "It's good that you are back, White," Sophia who was petting the curled-up Anna's hair greeted me.
"Wait, what happened here?" Sean asked. I was also curious, but looking at the table where all the empty shake bottles lay, I figured this was partially my fault. "Hungry..." Anna who is still curled up in a ball looked at us with irritated eyes, sending shivers running down our spines.
"Ah, w-were going to grab dinner," Sean excused himself. I still feel Anna's gaze boring a hole in me, so I just bowed in apology and followed suit.
