Chapter 28 - Breaking In

"So, what is the most important thing to learn" said William.

"If you are not learning groundwork, and since you took to striking like a duck to water, you will want to not allow someone to take you to the ground, the sprawl," said Pietro.

The sprawl is a way to stop a double leg takedown using the hips, as the opponent shoots in to grab both legs you block his head from getting past your body with your forearm, then moving the front leg back slightly, you switch legs putting all your weight into your hip that is opposite to your now moving back lead leg. That hip, if done right, will push your opponent's body down, making them let go of your legs, and you finish on top where you can get up or attack without being taken down.
