Breaking out
William condensed his shadows down into armour from the floating mist they were before. The new armour fading and moving, a shifting living shadow surrounded him, flexible as it was strong.
His stone knife at the ready, he coated it in his venom. It was better to be over prepared and not need it then to be underprepared and need it.
He crouched against the back wall of his cell, getting ready, his spider legs began to unfurl, clad in their own shadows.
Pressing them against the wall, he watched through his shadow's eyes for the moment it opened. He knew it would spell the death of many people but he did not care. All he wanted was his shadow back.
The doors opened with a crisp clink, his shadow rushed the guards that had the energy shields already up.
At the same moment William jumped with all his force culminating at the tip of his blade.
Shattering the glass upon impact, he was free.
