Chapter 30 - Silent Night

In a forest, pitch black without a sound, stood a figure, skin black as coal, tall with long dirt-covered black hair.

Crouching on a rock staring at the valley below.

A small red glow came from the valley, soon followed by loud banging of pots and pans, breaking the silence of the forest.

The figure looked down on the campsite, with eyes red and glowing, vanishing into the darkness. The clicking of its stone knees all that was left behind.

William sat in a valley cleaning his pots after a long day, with a roaring fire beside him.

From the shadows came a towering figure that loamed over his back, watching him.

Then in one swift movement, it attacked him with a stone knife aimed at his neck.

William ducked, allowing the jagged blade to pass over him.

With a single step, William slid past the figure and wrapped steel wire around the neck of the figure, choking and killing it.
