Derek was the town bully, it was said that he had taken the test a year ago but his grade was low being red. He was still admitted into an academy but never actually put in much effort. As a result, during the yearly test of the academy he performed so poorly the academy had no choice but to kick him out of the school because they had to train great heroes, not lazy children.
Ever since, he had been bullying the other boys of the town from when he came back. He loved to pick on Wilson and Daniel a lot but no one really knew why. At the moment, the two friends were surrounded by the group of seven. Daniel was visibly shaking, his green hair drenched in sweat and the freckles on his face clearly enlarged.
On seeing him, one would think he was scared, but Wilson knowing the temper and bold mouth of his friend knew Dan was about to do something very very stupid.
"can we help you dimwits, sorry I mean fellas, we have a very important errand to complete, so if you don't mind we'll be going now" said Daniel while pulling Wilson's hand trying to leave the circle only to get blocked again.
" well, well, well, if it isn't my favorite fishes, how're ya doing losers?"said Derek
" oh Derek hi! didn't see you there, but who're you calling losers? loser!"
" whaddya just say punk?"
" Sorry Derek, was a slip of the tongue, I'd never call you a loser,... ........... you see,.... ..you're not even worth being called that" dropped Daniel as he gave a mischievous smile.
That statement alone broke it for Derek, immediately he stretched his hand towards the ground and some earth rose up and wrapped around his closed fist.
"oh boy, too much?" was Daniels thought.
The boys in the group immediately made way for their leader to pulverize the two weaklings.
"uh buddy, I think you went too far" whispered Wilson.
"well at least I did something mister,what did you do" remarked Daniel.
Derek slowly approached the duo, raised his hand while the boys chanted hoping to instigate the matter further. He was about to attack the two when an old voice rang out;
" Now what do we have here?"
Daniel and Wilson were relieved, they knew that voice. It was old man Manny.
Old man Manny was a known figure in the town, most people respected him, though no one knew his real origins. He especially favored the duo, they were very close to him, always spending time with him.
Daniel immediately screamed with all his strength, " Old man Manny,HELLLPPP!"
From some bushes came Old man Manny. He was in his usual attire,a long white wooden walking stick and a gray robe. He was bald with a white beard but his green eyes still sparkled with life. He had an aura of kindness round about him at the moment.
