Chereads / Fire and Moon / Chapter 19 - 19

Chapter 19 - 19

As Raven walked out of the room, she looked at the bench she had left Axel which was in some place down the hall but of course, he wasn't there.

He was standing infront of....

Without thinking twice, she stormed to him, pulling him by the hand and snatching him away from there "Don't look at her!"

His eyes were supposed to be bewildered, or maybe shocked at her outburst, because she realised a nanosecond later that her anger was not warranted.

It nrver was anyway.

But all he did was give a small nod "Sorry. I was sitting on the bench but I couldn't ignore the profanities and ill sayings about me from your mouth and I had to leave"

Her mouth opened to apologise, but she snapped it shut and began to walk away "It's time for the Pack lunch. Everyone would be waiting for us there"

As they walked, him behind and not whistling which did not make her feel comfortable, weirdly enough, she heard herself snap in her head, Why was he sounding so sad in the first place?! Like he wasn't even sad about himself but FOR me?!

We would know him if you didn't act like you had a dick up your ass.

Well Reina, isn't it nice to hear your uppity bitchy voice up my head?

You're welcome.

Raven snickered.

And if you haven't noticed dear Raven the bird of preying on innocent Rin, Axel doesn't plan on leaving us so stop sending him away!

He'd leave, didn't Misha say the same thing?

There was a pause, a slight one until Reina said Misha was hurt.

Then we'd have to hurt Axel.

Raven....

I will not lose someone I love or let someone walk on me like the bastard did to HER. I won't.

As Raven said those final words, Reina was silent again and Raven was grateful for it.

They finally got to the hall and the whole place was bustling as usual, except this time, there was a silence.

And it wasn't because Raven had done anything this time as she turned around to follow their eye movements.

It was because of the male behind her.

The females were staring, no, no, eye raping him while he walked along like he couldn't see them.

He just kept looking around the hall, a far off look in his eyes, but after she had stared for quite a while, he turned around, giving her a small smile that made her blush immensely before she turned around and kept walking to the family table.

Ultimately, she wasn't sure if Axel should follow her, because though they were mated, she did not know his level and if he wasn't Alpha or Beta, it would be breaking the oldest rule that walked their earth.

Except of course, she knew he wasn't any of that.

He was something way much complicated.

Sitting down on one of the empty seats close to her Father, with Elle and Jordan's wife at the other side, siting next to her mum, she cleared her throat "Morning Father, Mother, dear cousin's wife and my darling little cousin/niece. How are you all?"

If her Mother acted like the nice tone she had used shocked her, it would make sense but she did not.

Rather, Annabelle's eyes were on the male that was now sitting next to Raven "Do I know you?"

Raven quirked an eyebrow at her Mother, then her Father who was staring at Axel with the same look in their eyes.

The person in question just looked up for a second, giving them the briefest of smiles "I suppose not. I just mated Raven anyway"

It irritated her there, his extreme bluntness at things like this but all she did was look at her plate of chicken tetrazzini and use her fork to dance around it as Her Mother said "Is he saying the truth?"

Raven opened her mouth to say something but it didn't feel like the right words so she shut them again.

Jethro Alistair now had his eyes on her "The is the mate you were talking about to me yesterday, yes?"

Raven nodded.

"And the one you left Sirius for?" He continued.

She slowly nodded here.

"Where did you meet him if I may ask?" Her father asked, leaning closer now "Because he is obviously not a member of this pack and I remember clearly telling you not to leave the borders or think of it"

Raven gulped here "Off the borders"

"Disobeyed?"

There was a slip not a beat before she said, now slicing the chicken "Yes"

There was silence again, a little of it before Jethro sighed "You cannot keep doing this"

She did not reply, because she saw no need, because she didn't know what to say and she knew she should beg for forgiveness, the tiniest part of her said begging might help soothe him.

Because she could tell he was in pain.

He was angry at her, yes, but this time, she had hurt him.

"I had two daughters, and now I have one" He said "And this one, I am trying to protect, she won't even care about how I feel"

Raven clenched her jaw.

Stop talking of Misha, stop it....

"If you could just...." He rather paused to look for the right words as he said "Think about how people feel before you hurt them. You can make a better Alpha"

Annabelle sighed, knowing her husband had drifted, yet again.

He had been going so good at the beginning, sounding like the father that cared about his daughter...

Now he was sounding like the Leader looking down at his next subordinate that he was not related to in anyway.

"You never cared about me" Raven slowly said "Until Misha was dead"

Annabelle winced "Ravenna....."

"And you...." She continued "And you suddenly expect me to be the child you wanted because the child you had loved so much chose death over you?"

Jethro stared "She didn't do it because of us"

"It doesn't matter who she did it for, it doesn't..." Raven slowly said, her anger increasing by the second.

She proceeded to say the next word but she felt hands crawl over to hers and hold it, not tightly, but as a reminder that he was there.

That he would always be there.

Ravem turned to him, and noticed he wasn't looking at her, just quietly eating, his hands still on hers.

Then she heard his voice for the first time in her head say.

Go.

And it wasn't a request, it was an order.

So Raven obeyed, without questions as she stood up and dusted her clothes "I would be at the training center, if anyone needs me, which I pray, does not happen"

Then left.
