CHAPTER 4 – Trial 2
GISH! GISH!
Several punches landed on his face till she was satisfied and held him by his armour, lifting him up and flinging him towards the entrance of the cell.
All of these had happened too fast that even the demon soldiers could not comprehend what had happened.
One minute she had turned around and the next, they heard sounds and what happened… they saw a figure being thrown away with a loud thud.
Everyone stood there speechless with wide eyes, trying to comprehend what happened.
"What the hell are you still doing mopping around. Take him to the infirmary now!"
"I am afraid, I cannot allow that."
All heads turned in the direction of the voice. Carmilla did not need to wait to see the owner of the voice before knowing who it was. She knew that voice anywhere.
E was one who not only cherished her but also loved her more than a baby sister like he called her.
It was none other than…
"Fearghal." As soon as she mentioned his name, he appeared before them, accompanied by a gust of wind.
Simply put, he used his demon powers to increase his speed. He was also one of the fastest demons in the land.
"Hello, Carmi."
"What is the meaning of this, Fearghal?" Her face showed no form of joy whatsoever. She was angry, pained in fact.
This was the guy of her dreams. The one she wanted to spend the rest of her life with and now… they are accusing him wrongly and that spelt out death loud and clear.
She couldn't have it, let alone bear it.
"You were supposed to be with Lord Kaan. Why are you here?"
"Isn't it obvious? I am here to prevent you from doing something stupid."
"Excuse me?" She faced him fully, her head titled forward and her hands, balled into a tight fist. "You knew but did not tell me. Why?"
"I needed to protect you from being hurt."
"What kind of hurt is that? He did nothing wrong."
"You cannot vouch for him," Fearghal corrected her. He moved into the prison, his eyes completely fixed on her and ignoring the main reason for all this chaos.
"I do not want to see you hurt, Carmi but if you continue with this, then I would forgo my affection and treat you as a traitor too."
"Now I see it. It is clear as day. This is a conspiracy and you know it."
"A conspiracy? Okay, you asked why I left the Demon Lord, I would let you know. Few minutes after you left, the Demon Lord pried his eyes open and was about speaking when suddenly his pupils dilated ad his red iris, changed to dark and he began to foam in his mouth."
"WHAT! How can? He was fine when I left him."
"No, he was poisoned and I think that was when it took effect when he tried to force himself to wake up. I rushed out looking for a physician and I was told his personal physician was imprisoned. Before leaving I sent for another physician to tend to him. That was why I rushed here when I was informed of what happened."
"Really now?"
She did not believe a thing he said about just finding out but that wasn't her worry now. At east Abaddon was out of the torture. Now her mind was all for Lord Kaan.
'Yes really."
"But why do you think he is a traitor?"
"Because it was he and the physician that lasts administered something to the king. If you think I am lying, you can please head to his Lordship's room and see fr yourself."
She did not know what to say anymore. Her heart was torn. Leaving Abaddon here, meant leaving a sheep with the wolves.
He could fight them off single-handedly, that was for sure but he wouldn't do that as that would only worsen his case and they can even kill him if they could from it, framing him with no one to side him."
"I suggest you better leave and go to your father's side now. We do not know but it might be too late," Fearghal advised.
He waited, giving her time to make the right decision else she is condemned by a dying man.
Meanwhile, Abaddon had been using this time and opportunity to heal himself. Although he did not say anything, he was already fuming with anger and boiling with rage on the inside.
He yanked his hands away from the hold of the soldiers supporting him.
All of them were vile. All of them, no one would be spared when it was time for him to get his revenge.
After about a minute of deciding, Carmilla looked up then averted her gaze to Abaddon. He looked better now. It was a good thing he had a fast healing system else, she did nt know what she would do.
"It is okay, Carmilla," Abaddon said in a low tone.
She gave him a sad smile, one telling of her bitterness and her hope. He returned it. It was worth it having that one person that still believed in you. "You can go to father. I would be fine."
"Are you sure?"
"Affirmative. Please give him my best wishes. Go now. You cannot be here."
"Abad…"
"Go, Carmilla. Please. Thank you for what you did but I cannot drag you further into my mess."
"I love you, Abaddon and I would always jump into your mess. Be safe for me at least."
He dipped his head down a bit, nodding his answer to her. She took in a deep breath and then looked at Fearghal. "You better not torture him for answers until the Demon Lord gives his verdict. Anyone who does otherwise would answer to me."
That was her command before taking her leave.
"Hmm. She still thinks she is special huh? Once you are gone, there would be nothing for her. She cannot be the Demon Queen even if she wanted and willed it."
