CHAPTER 5
"Hmm. She still thinks she is special huh? Once you are gone," he faced Abaddon. "There would be nothing for her. She cannot be the Demon Queen even if she wanted and willed it."
"Is that why you do all of these? Jealousy?" Abaddon asked.
"Stop spouting out nonsense." He turned to face the soldiers this time and gave his own verdict. "No torturing of him and take him to Jail one. Hopefully once his majesty, the Demon Lord recovers fully, we would raise the issue to him and he can stand trial."
"Yes sir!"
"If I were you, Abaddon, I would try not to say anything because whatever you say or do can and will be used against you…"
"In the court of law?" Abaddon finished for him.
"Yes, in the trial court of the Abyss not the court of law because they would not try you as much as we can. We know the magnitude of your actions so who better other than us to do that?"
Without another word to Abaddon, he turned around and took his leave.

Meanwhile, Carmilla did not waste another second and sprinted towards the demon lord's room. Right now she was all Abaddon had and could trust to take care of his father in this trying time.
Her eyes watered the closer she got to the room of the demon lord and immediately she got there, Carmilla did not wait for anything and barged in rudely.
What she met left her mouth hanging as she tried her best to process what was happening.
The demon Lord was virtually convulsing in bed with the physician hovering over him, trying all they could to keep him in a steady state to help calm him down.
"What are you doing!" Carmilla yelled.
She did not give them any room to answer and rushed in pushing them out of the way and holding the demon lord.
Within a matter of seconds, she lied him on his side and rubbed on his back for some seconds. After which, Carmilla turned around to look at the physicians. "What are you standing there k, held in her breath and closed her eye
"Yes, yes, ma." They were already shaking. It wasn't like they did not know what to do and stuff, they did know but they were given strict orders to let the Demon Lord convulse for a long time and later help him.
This was planned so that when he is giving his verdict, he would feel his adopted son meant him ill just for the throne.
Carmilla turned around to look at them. This time around she was not smiling one bit and the deadly look on her face told them that she could injure them any second if they did not behave.
Quickly, they rushed to her side to assist her in holding the demon lord. Once that was done, she took a step back and brought both hands in front of her.
Before they knew what was happening, her palms began to glow with a dark orange hue. By the time it has spread up to her elbow, she stepped forward, going around the bed to his back and placed both hands at his back.
Soon the orange light spread around the back of the demon lord and after about two minutes, his breathing returned and the foaming of his mouth ceased involuntarily.
Five minutes later, the Demon Lord has successfully returned to a stable state. Although his body was hot, it was way better than how he was previously.
Having done her part, Carmilla stepped back for the physicians to do theirs and check on him.
"My Lady, the Demon Lord is stable now," the first Physician informed her.
"Okay. Kindly check him thoroughly and you," she pointed at the other physician. "Prepare the antidote and ensure this episode does not repeat itself, else, I would have your heads if it does."
"Yes, ma."
Rather than doing as they were told, they waited for her to leave but to their disappointment, she did not move a muscle.
"And what the hell are you two still doing standing there, huh? If anything happens to the Demon Lord, be prepared to escort him to the land beyond. Understood?" That was it, if she thought they were shaking before, she had not seen anything yet.
This time around their shaking was so obvious that even a rat would see it.
"Hmm, I suggest you two better will yourselves to calm down if you still value your head to be on your neck."
"Yes, ma."
Just as Carmilla had willed, the two physicians could not do anything fishy. The plan before was to start administering more doses to the Demon Lord but with her presence there, they dare not try anything funny.
And just like that, the antidote to the so-called poison was formed and given to the king.

By the next day, the Demon Lord was in a better shape than the previous day. Once he was informed that the cause of his near-death experience was his favourite and only son, he felt devastated.
At first, he refused to believe them but when the witnesses were brought before him, he was so down.
"Your majesty."
"I do not want to hear it," Kaan Vortigern said. He shut his eyes closed. He felt hurt.
He never wanted to believe he used his hands to bring his own death close to him. No. He saw potential in Abaddon and took him in, training him to be even better than him.
When he first met his as a child, he could see the characteristics of a future leader. He was strong-willed. Compassionate where necessary but also vicious. He was feared by everyone in the Aisle.
His presence alone as a leader and commander number one of the Legion squad, made everyone cower in fear of what tragedy was about to happen. That was who Abaddon Gadreel, son of the Demon Lord, was.
