One evening, Masayuki came home from work. He was worried that his half-siblings will confront him at the living room for being late, again. And as he closed the door, just as predicted, Tohru's other cousins confronted him in front of him. Masayuki wasn't happy about this.
"Where have you been?" the male cousin asked him sternly.
"You had always come home late almost every night," his sister added sternly.
Then, with a cold look on his face, Masayuki simply said, "It's none of your business, so go away."
Angered by this, Tohru's male cousin grabbed Masayuki by his school uniform, and angrily responded back, "That's enough for you! You are being disobedient to us, you useless scum!"
Meanwhile, Emiko was doing her homework when she heard some angry yelling coming from downstairs. She then responded by going downstairs, only to see her older brother being grabbed by the clothes in anger.
"Big brother!" she exclaimed upon seeing her beloved brother.
But before Emiko would response, Tohru's other cousins told her how useless Masayuki is to them.
Then, in expressing her own feelings, Emiko yelled back with emotion, "He's not! He did everything for Tohru-chan!"
And then, Tohru's other cousins berated her for being inconsiderate and stupid to herself.
But then, Tohru's aunt, Pablo, and Tohru's grandfather, came to the scene, causing Tohru's other cousins to let go of Masayuki.
"What is going on here?" Pablo demanded an explanation.
Tohru's other cousins couldn't come up with an excuse to abuse Masayuki and Emiko, but Masayuki told his father the truth.
Upset by this, Pablo berated his stepchildren for abusing his children, but Tohru's other cousins responded by saying how Masayuki and Emiko were born to be biracials and not "acting normal."
"You're so stupid, aren't you?" Masayuki retorted back to his half-siblings for saying such things to Pablo. "I had enough of you two pissing me off! I'm leaving this house!" He then stormed off to his shared bedroom with his shoulder bag, slamming the door hard.
Tohru's aunt and grandfather then exchanged looks to one another, while Pablo facepalms for his stepchildren's actions towards his children.
At his bedroom, Masayuki started to pack up his belongings, including his clothes and books, for tomorrow's departure.
Emiko knocked on the door, causing Masayuki to respond, "Come in." She then opened the door, only to see her older brother packing up his roller bag.
"Where are you going?" she asked him.
Looking at her, Masayuki responded back, "I'm leaving. I had enough of them pissing me off. I am now living as a lone wolf from now on."
Concerned about her brother's well-being, Emiko asked him if he allowed her to come with him. But Masayuki tells her to ask Pablo for permission first. Emiko then nodded in agreement and went downstairs to ask her father for permission.
Upon returning downstairs, Emiko saw her father scolding her elder half-siblings for intimidating Masayuki earlier.
"It's your fault for marrying mom," the female cousin retorted towards Pablo, trying to put the blame on him.
"That's not nice to your father," Tohru's aunt said to them in response.
"For the last time, mom," the male cousin retorted back, "he's not our father. Why you don't understand how we felt? You always favored Masayuki and Emiko over us. That's not fair."
And then, Emiko came and interrupted their conversation, asking Pablo for permission to be with Masayuki. This bewilders the rest of the family, with Tohru's other cousins considering her as insane and crazy. Thinking about this, Pablo granted the permission to Emiko, allowing her to be with Masayuki. This also upsets Tohru's other cousins as well, considering Pablo as insane, but Pablo tells them to shut up.
