Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 - Souya the Delinquet

The next day at school during lunch time at the rooftop, Masayuki was eating adobo chicken and steamed rice for lunch, when a girl with blonde hair came holding a lunch box containing her bento lunch.

"Good morning, Masayuki-kun!" Souya, that blond hair girl, greeted him happily.

Noticing her, Masayuki happily responded back in greeting, "Good morning to you, Souya-chan!"

He and Souya are friends since kindergarten, but gone on their separate ways on elementary, but again, reunited in middle school.

As Masayuki eats his lunch, Souya asked him how was his day.

"Oh, it's fine," Masayuki responded back in answering. "I had been busy all week."

"Studying?" Souya raised a question.

"Yes, but also working as well," replied Masayuki back while chuckling a bit.

"Oh, I see then," Souya responded back as she eats her lunch. "Well, I appreciated your hard work for the future."

"Thanks," Masayuki responded back happily.

Later, when classes are over, Masayuki was putting his belongings in his shoulder bag when one of his classmates approached him and asked if he wants to go out.

"Sure," Masayuki positively accepted the offer. "I'll sing my favorite songs."

"Again?" his classmate responded back. "Those Filipino ones"

"Hey, it's my cultural heritage from my father, you know," Masayuki seriously responded back.

"Oh, right, sorry," his classmate responded with an apology.

Meanwhile, Souya was looking at Masayuki with feelings of love towards him. Surely they are friends since childhood, but in romantic terms, she was afraid of confessing her feelings towards him.

Later, now walking down the street to a karaoke bar near the station, Masayuki and his friends are excited to sing their favorite songs. But then, Tohru's male cousin is walking down the same street in the opposite direction. This causes Masayuki's attitude to switch from excited and positive to downright cold and hostile.

"Are you okay, dude?" one of his classmates asked Masayuki.

"It's just my stupid elder brother over there," answered Masayuki back as he points towards his older half-brother. He and Tohru's male cousin then walked pass right each other without making any eye contact. Once that passed, Souya asked Masayuki why.

Luckily, Masayuki was open, so he switched to his serious, Kyo-style-of-being-serious side and responded back, "It's because he and his sister didn't treat me, my sister, and my beloved cousin, Tohru well, nor showing any compassion to us."

"Wow, they are so spoiled and selfish for themselves," one of his classmates commented.

"But, did you ever get out of it?" another asked Masayuki.

"Yes, and me and my sister had moved out," Masayuki answered that, "and now, we're living in an apartment." This response surprises the group a bit.

"Oh, I see then," Souya commented.

"Well, good for you then," one of them added.

"Thanks," Masayuki happily responded back.

Later at the karaoke bar near the station, they sang their favorite songs together. Masayuki's is the popular Filipino songs he always loved. They are having a great time, but Souya was only one who was unable to sing, because she cannot. It was Masayuki who was responsible of getting Souya out of her delinquent life.
