When I woke up I was in an unfamiliar place, in an unfamiliar bed. It was similar to my apartment, but it wasn't mine. I looked around and saw boxes on the ground. I also heard a pan sizzling and a girl humming behind some curtains. I wasn't thinking straight so I didn't know who it was. Then Yui walked into the room.
"Satou, you're awake, how are you feeling?" She responded as soon as she saw me sitting up.
"I feel a bit light headed but other than that I'm fine, umm can you tell me why I'm here though."
"You don't remember?"
"No, I remember talking with you outside and after that I'm drawing a blank."
"We were talking but you suddenly fainted."
"What! How did that happen?"
"I'm not sure, we were just talking and then you just fell forward and I saw that you fainted so I dragged you in here."
"Wow, sorry about that."
"No need to apologize, have you ever fainted before?"
"I never have."
"That's really weird, have you been getting enough sleep recently?"
"I've got enough sleep, I did have a dream but still I slept."
"What was the dream about?"
"I'm not entirely sure, but I know I had it."
"That's interesting, oh yeah by the way, I ran to the convenience store and made some soup if you feel up to eating."
"Thank you, I'll have some."
Yui went back into the kitchen to go and grab me some and I tried to figure out why I had fainted. I didn't understand it, I felt fine the entire day. Was it because of my recurring dream which I couldn't remember once again. It had never happened before so it made no sense for it to start out of nowhere.
Suddenly, I heard the ring of a bell, and a cat walked in. Ever since what happened to Eve I have had an intense fear of cats, so without thinking, I screamed. Yui came running in and said "What's wrong!?"
I replied "Sorry, but, can you please take the cat out of the room, I sort of have a fear of them." While facing the wall in embarrassment.
"Oh, I'm sorry." She replied a bit thrown off. Then she grabbed the cat and took it into the other room. She walked back in with two bowls of soup.
"Umm, I'm sorry about that, I just get a bit shaken up when I see cats." I said looking down at my soup.
"Don't worry about it, do you mind if I ask why though." Yui asked.
"Well I don't really want to get deep into it but let's just say that something bad happened in my childhood due to a cat."
"Sorry to hear about that."
"It's fine." We sat there and just had the soup for a while without saying anything. I still felt embarrassed about what happened and I was also trying to think why I had fainted. I pulled out my phone to check the time but I realized it had died.
"Can I borrow your charger?" I asked Yui.
"Sure." She said, handing it to me. I let it charge until one percent and then turned it on to check the notifications. It started beeping like crazy once it turned on and said 9 missed calls.
"Why is your phone beeping so much?" Yui asked.
"I'm not sure, it says I have 9 missed calls, let me see who it was." I went into the call history and saw one from Hiro, and eight from Eve's parents. I jumped up quickly and called them.
"Satou, are you there!?"
"Yeah I'm here, is something wrong?."
"It's Eve, she's in critical condition, the doctors aren't sure if she will make it!"
Going against all the lengths I had gone to avoid going at that moment without thinking, I said "I'm coming now!"
