I was perplexed, I still am.
"….you own me and my whole coterie"
Just like in werewolves that rely not only on their own private abilities but that of a pack. The stronger the pack members the stronger they all get individually which made any dismembered werewolf less strong that the lowest ranker in any pack; but for vampires they have a slight difference. One could live──heck even thrive without a coterie or a master because the higher the number of the members the stronger the master becomes although they had the link. They could feel each other, even to some extent feelings of one coterie member to another. Having a master has its perks, it gives a sense of responsibility and purpose and feeding will be a lot more simplified. So, that explained the added energy I felt and the worry that grew inside of me; now that I have claimed Cassuis then I have him and his entire coterie at the tip of my fingers.
No sinister intentions arose inside of me at first, I was scared of such a massive weight added to me and the fact that I had bonded myself to him while he's not Jake. I wanted that bond broken, but later I realized I was at advantage and I going to use it.I retreated to my room after the conversation ended with me leaving, I sank in my bed turned on my side I supported my head with a pillow and both my hands under my head. I was still feeling irritated and shivers still ran through me. Although we didn't have an intercourse but we were indeed really close and very much intimate for a claim to work like that, for a moment in that room with him I felt the emotions flow through me and now it really was upsetting me. I rolled on my back again sighing inwardly
'Is this not cheating on Jake?' Having to leave Cassuis under my control, not really having control over the emotion he feels due to the claim. I knew I had dived into something very deep, I clipped my eyes together for a while before I sat up crossing my legs underneath me. I will try to contact ruby again. The beam could still only reach a certain parts of Terent mill, I could see near her cabin before I sucked in through the wooden walls and I was in the hall; finally.
"Ruby?" I called not really moving my lips physically, I looked around the living room and it seemed it was unoccupied but the kitchen was. She was at her place sited as always having tea calmly while looking through a book.
"Ruby" I called but it seemed she hasn't heard me but just flipped through her book and took a sip out of her cup. I didn't know using this spell meant we couldn't talk, then devising another plan was necessary and fast because it take a lot of energy to move. I looked around quickly, then I saw right behind me a floating shelf of jars filled with different sorts of dry content; one finer than the other. If I get to knock off one of them then it will definitely get her attention and could tell her what I want to using the fine grains. I turned and reached my hand but it only passed through it like I were a ghost, I tried again and again and again but it could just pass through the bottle and not move.
"This is harder than I thought" I stared at the glass container until I heard a sound coming from behind me, turning around I saw ruby had stood up, closed her book and had the tea cup in the sink. My heart beat elevated as I didn't know when I could get a chance to connect again
"Ruby, don't leave please!" I begged hurriedly turning over to the shelf containers, it turned out I didn't need to use my hand to knock the container off the shelf; it was just extra energy spill. I charged at the container and it vibrated before it fall sideways right next to where I was standing now. Ruby snapped towards it and furrowed her brows, she stalked towards it looking around as the reason why it would but fall off. I hunkered down as she did, as soon as she extended her hand forward to gather the larger pieces of glass, I dipped my hand in the smooth grain and started to write her name word by word.
As soon as R appeared she looked up in daze, directly at me like she could see me
"Gia child?" She said almost unable to believe her own eyes I nodded although I knew she wouldn't be able to see me
"How are you doing this?"
Instead of answering her question, I needed to go straight to the point; I didn't know how much longer I was able to keep it up. Next I wrote 'HELP'
"Help?" she announced before she quickly caught on that something was very wrong
"What happened out there? You must be in trouble" I replied with a 'yes' before I proceed to write more about Maya's deceased and the next plan knowing she wouldn't be a fan of that idea
'Need a spell to help her back'
'Blood from me didn't work'
"What?" she exclaimed
"You've done something horrible, I forbade you from using your blood to bring back the dead. Death is a natural course of life" She scolded before she let my words sink in
"It's impossible. The Rayleigh bloodline is one of the strongest of the deities ever, it doesn't make sense" She seemed to be really staggered by this but I didn't need that, I need her ever vast knowledge for this to work
'Xena's wolf influence' I brought the matter that prince Orpheus brought up a little earlier just wanted to confirm if that should be the cause of the obstruction
"That should be able to make you only stronger because our family bloodline especially of mine is pure," she seemed to have gone deep in thought for a moment and so did I. if my mother's line was pure although not of the royal which were considered the strongest and most pure then I should be able to bring her back but why isn't she waking up? I decided to ask about the missing heart 'Maya's heart is gone'
"That should also not hinder the ability to revive her but it's no good for anyone without a heart. There is too much uncertainty" She warned as always but at that moment I was starting to see blur and it was an indication that the spell was about to worn out.
'Please Ruby,'
'Can't stay for long'
After reading the message she got up quickly and disappeared for a while and came back with a book in her hands. She set it down facing her and started to go through it while she talked to me
"This is a really powerful and dangerous spell; it can reach beyond the grave. It's easier to perform when the body in question has a link to you but you don't have a link to her do you?" she asked looking up like she was able to see me
'The Alpha' I was sure she would understand. She sighed before answering
"It's better than nothing but it will be nasty for all three of you" she said before bring the book down to cover the grain. I looked down and she tapped at the right page, this is the spell. It was a bunch of unorthodox words maybe a very ancient language and chants but strangely after staring down at it, I could read it. It looked like I must possess something very personal to the deceased; get it blessed before placing it in a ring of sapphire salt, a handful of my blood and a chip of an Orgime tree.
"The last item is impossible to find, I haven't seen or heard of it in years"
'Where can I found it' I asked when she pulled the book away
"It's last known location was in London"
