He walked us outside and closed the door behind him and that's when I realized just how much Cassuis was upset because he immediately disappeared from sight. I sighed before planning to go visit Hunter and Leo instead of going in my room. I knocked twice before Hunter opened the door; he smiled when he saw me.
"You have been out of sight a long time, are you ok?"
"Yes I am, sorry I wanted to come earlier but I was caught up"
"I know, you look exhausted" he wrapped his hand over my shoulder and got me inside
"It smells good in here," I caught the scent of roasted lamb and vegetable
"Yes we make our own food; we don't trust what they give us"
"Want to have a try?" hunter offered as soon as we faced the table laid with food and drink
"I'm not hungry, thank you" I said quietly sitting at the edge of the bed while watching them starting to eat. Since when I came in Leo didn't bother to look up, that hurt me deeply. Just as they were half through eating Hunter asked again
"Are you ok?"
"Yes" I answered looking up from my feet
"You look just like your mother used to when she's upset" he said with a brief smile
"Really?"
Hunter replied with a sound behind his throat, and then I started thinking about how my birth mother could have been when she was alive
"You can share your worries with me, that's why we have family unless─" Hunter sited by my side leaving Leo at the table to eat some more
"No don't say that. You are not just her mate you are my father too. I really I'm alright, I am just overwhelmed by everything"
"Is this blood?" Hunter asked worriedly pulling at the sleeve of my blouse, I looked at it and there was a patch of blood. How did I get blood on me?
"No, I don't know where it came from" I said quickly. As soon as Leo was on his feet I quickly intercepted his movement towards the door
"Leo, I know how to track Jake's progress." the displease in his face washed away by hope
"How?" he asked not able to contain his joy
"Well I had a contact with Ruby earlier," While ruby was showing me what was on the right page I also noticed the content of the next page. It was a location spell.
"Locations spell?"
"Yes" I answered
"I'm going to try it tonight" I added
"And it will tell you precisely where he is?" Leo asked
"I don't know for sure until I try"
"Be careful" Hunter warned
"I should get going," I rose to my feet when hunter grabbed me by the forearm and turned me to face him before he held both my hands in his, his touch warm and loving like a father's.
"I heard about your and that Orpheus guy will be getting wedded" Hunter stated carefully locking eyes with me
"I will try to get away from it"
"How?"
"I don't know yet but I will find a way, I promise" Although Leo hadn't engage in the conversation I could see how tense he became after Hunter asked about it
"I believe you will; you are a bright girl" he smiled before drawing me closer and planting a kiss on my forehead. I hugged him lightly before leaving
"Have a good sleep" he said like I was a little girl, I laid in bed tired of thinking──my mind was exhausted leaving me with a headache.
'Should I really just hand bag after bag of my blood to Marcos?' a person I had not warmed up to since the day I had first seen him, I dread what he would do with it. But if I refuse then I lose the chance of having the Orgime splint and thus not able to bring Maya back and will never have the chance to strike another deal with Marcos like that in the future. Further if I will not give in to him then Jake and everyone I care about are out to be haunted for their whole life; broken and wasted. Yet again I made a promise to bring her back, so her mate could find solace again even If she would be missing the two essential for life; a heart and soul. Not to mention how dangerous it would be if she decided being nice didn't cut her any slack before and goes to a spree of revenge and darkness; it would be almost impossible to tame her with the powers she will wake with.I sighed heavily rolling to my side again
'Now I sound like the Ruby'
No!
I'm not letting all the negativity and dangers in this plan make me stop, I will bring her back and nurture her to be the Maya we'd all fallen in love with. If Marcos decided to pull any strings to storm darkness upon other I will put him to rest permanently, What about Cassuis? He might seem really angry and murderous towards his own brother but if I was to kill him would he sit with it? Would he want to finish what they started himself?
'Whatever it takes'
I saw how he had reacted to him before, I am certain he will be relieve when his brother is tamed from his wilderness. As for Jake, I will only keep wandering where he might be for now a week had already passed. Now with the knowledge I had acquired of the location spell, I will try and keep trying until I find him. Jake was as valuable to me as my parents were because he's been everywhere that I was even at my dad's funeral, he even told me he used to look through the window of mine every night to make sure I was doing fine. Next day right out of bed I sat down in the relaxing position Ruby taught me and tried to locate him, all I needed what something linked to him. I sat there with myself as I was and decided to do it earliest when I was the most rested. I closed my eyes and concentrated on him reciting the small chant I saw written on the page over and over but I could only see the memories we shared.
After breakfast I sat there again and tried but it didn't work, minutes became hours and hours became days. I could only just break out in sweat and nothing else and that got me nothing but depressed. Time flew aimlessly as I sat in the room, Marcos provided the Orgime bark just like he said through his assistant and in turn the night before I asked Lucinda to help me with the blood, I sat with a needle in both my arms for the whole night filing three to four bags while constantly getting my vitals checked.
"You can't give anymore," Lucinda warned just as she let my wrist go, I closed my eyes in other to minimize the effect of the dizziness and dryness in my mouth. She helped me with a soup mixed in thousands of herbs, "Keep going"
I sent the bags of blood to him through his assistant and hoped never to see him again after that.
