Chapter 22 - Family Time (Small Talk)4...

Watching her children bicker and banter with the oldest of them all settling the disputes among them like a mature adult, was the happiness of all Mothers.

And watching them all build a bond that was strong enough to break any wall was certainly an achievement.

Sighing, she said;

"If you kids need me, I'll be with your Father...!"

"Wherever he is!"

And with that she left the kitchen and went in search of her husband.

"Where you gonna find him?" Bryan asked as he sat up in Temi's arms.

Shrugging, their Mother and said;

"I'm also not sure where he'd be!"

"But I'll find him!"

"Okay!" Bryan nodded.

"And when you find him, tell him I said 'hi'!" Little Bryan said.

Their Mother smiled as she walked towards him. Leaning forward as she bent low, she placed a light kiss atop Bryan's head.

Looking into his eyes as she caressed his face, she smiled as she said;

"Of course I will!"

Bryan smiled.

And with that, she turned and left, in search of her husband.

Once she was out of sight, without turning to look back, she let out a deep breath, like as if she had been holding her breath of a very long time.

Actually, she knew where her husband was, but just to keep them away, she had to come alone, and in order to come alone, she had to keep them out one way or the other.

She knew that her husband was in his usual spot, thinking things through...

And by thinking 'things' through, it had to do with the dream...

As soon as she was out of sight, she took a right turn and she headed upstairs.

Walking a little while, she got to the balcony, and standing there, was Mr Smith.

As anticipated, he was deep in thoughts...

And he had this look in his face...

As if...

Worried!

Walking in his direction, she wrapped her arms around his waist as she placed her head on his back and hugged him tightly.

When Temi's Father left the dinning room, he headed straight for the balcony.

He had a lot of things on his mind and one of the most important, was his daughter.

Temi was leaving for the University in some hours time and he would surely miss her.

But what his wife told him, that is, concerning the dream she had of their daughter, it was so disturbing and that was the main reason why he was out here.

But he had been so engrossed in his thoughts about that subject, he didn't hear the footsteps behind him, until, some arms wrapped themselves around him.

"What's wrong dear?" He heard his wife ask.

At first he was startled.

"Nothing!" He replied as he shook his head in negation.

He was happy that it was his wife, if it had been someone else, he wouldn't know what he would have done.

Being trained in Martial Arts, he could protect himself at any time whilst injuring his opponent in the process.

And get would have been very brutal about it...

And thank God he hadn't done that to his wife, if not, he wouldn't have known what she would have done.

"Babe...?" His wife called.

Turning his head in the direction of his wife, Mr Smith asked;

"Hm?"

"Don't hide anything from me...!" She said.

"We're a couple, we are one, and if something's one, it can't hide anything from itself."

"What 'it' knows, or 'he' knows, the whole body knows, and there's nothing 'it' can hide from itself, and if that thing says it can hide something from itself, then it's deceiving itself, because obviously you can't hide anything from your mind...!"

"It's 'bout Temi!" Mr Smith cut in to say.

His wife went silent.

She was right.

He knew she knew.

"It's 'bout the dream you told me...I...!" He went silent.

"I can't understand it, I don't know...is it true?"

"Could it be possible?" He asked.

He knew what his wife had been saying was the truth and she had said that over and over again just to him to spill out the beans, and it had worked. Not most of the time, but everytime.

If he didn't want to tell her anything, all she had to was say that they were one, and then the case was settled.

Even if he didn't want to tell her that period, all she had to do was be rest assured, because sooner or later, he would tell her the problem.

And even if she doesn't have the solution to it, she still wanted to know, if there's anyway she might help, and truly, she had been a blessing to his life, Mr Smith couldn't deny it.

But right now, with what she had told him of their daughter, he couldn't help but worry himself out of this life.

"But it's just a dream...!" His wife said, trying to calm him down, not that she meant it wholely because 'she' herself also felt more worried than she appeared to be. But just so he didn't rack his brain and get a migraine, she didn't want him to feel the least worried.

Turning his head to look at his wife, who now stood by his side, Mrs Smith turned her face the other way.

He had seen through her...

" 'Just' a dream?' " Mr Smith asked with an eyebrow raised.

His wife turned to look at him with an  awkward smile on her face.

"Don't tell me that you've suddenly turned to Temi right now...?" Mr Smith asked.

"What?"

"No no no no no no no no no no no no no!!!" Mrs Smith shrieked.

"No no, I didn't mean it that way, I just...!"

"Don't make a fuss 'bout it, I was only pulling your leg!" Mr Smith laughed.

Mrs Smith piped down, as she looked at her husband with a stern face.

Mr Smith knew that she was just making the face so that he would apologize.

"Darling, are you angry?" He couldn't help but tease.

His wife turned away from him as she crossed her arms over her chest as she pouted.

"I was only trying to make you not to think too much...maybe God sent it as a warning. But 'someone's' looking at the other side of it...!" Mrs. Smith grumbled.

Mr Smith laughed.

"Were you trying to trick me?" He asked.

"Do I look like a witch?"

"Is it only witches that trick people?" Mr. Smith asked, laughing.

Turning back to look at her husband, Mrs. Smith gave Mr. Smith a stinging glare.

Turning her face away, she Mrs. Smith kept on sulking.

Hugging his wife from behind, he placed a gentle kiss on her neck as he gently bit onto it and began sucking it gently, enjoying her scent in the process.

Her scent was so alluring, he then turned her round as he wanted to devour her, but was interrupted by the coughing of someone...

Startled, they both turned their eyes and heads, as if in sync.

Temi had been watching her parents 'love' work, and couldn't help but come out from her hiding place as she rested on the pillar to watch them.

Where she had stood was widely open, so her parents could see her very well when she came out.

But very much to her surprise, they didn't even notice her and went on with what they were doing.

As they were about to dive into the main exercise, she decided to play a little prank on them.

Coughing pretty loud to gain their attention, she said;

"Gross, Mum and Dad, stop it...!"

Startled, they both turned around...

Smirking as she walked towards them, she said;

"You both forget that you have children now!"

She said as she stood in front of them, but only gave them some distance as she crossed her arms over her chest and tilted her head to the side as she smiled at them.

Her parents were both shocked.

'When did she get here?' They both wondered.

"When did you get here?" Her Mother asked with an open mouth.

"Nah, not too long ago...!" Temi replied as she stylishly raised up her hand to look at her nails.

"But I came when Momma was acting pretty childish!" She said as she slowly turned her attention back to them, wearing a mischievous smile on her face.

Her Father slowly smiled as he looked down at his wife.

He understood his daughter's intention to tease her Mother just like him.

"Childish?" Her Mother asked.

Temi nodded.

"Childish...?" Her Mother asked again.

Temi nodded.

"Childish...?" Temi's Mother shrieked this time as she raised her head to look at her husband for support, only to find him smirking mischievously.

"Oh, so you're in this too, right?" She asked as she elbowed him to the stomach.

Temi and her Father both burst out laughing.

"Unbelievable?" And with that, Temi's Mother left them.

But not without giving Temi 'The Look'.

That look had Temi shudder a bit. But with her Dad there, she knew everything would be fine.

Walking to the spot where her Mother had just left, Temi stood beside her Father as they both watched her (Her Mum) go.

The look in Temi's Father's eyes, was a look of desire, as he stared deeply. But he was careful in letting his daughter see right through him.

But Temi had already seen it all...
