"I didn't even finish my classes today...!"
That part had her Father lean forward as he removed his hand from behind his wife as he clasped them together, looking at his daughter as if looking into her soul.
Even her Mother too, leaned forward, and in her elegant manner, crossed her legs together as she also clasped her hands together.
Both parents looked serious as they asked;
"What did you say?"
Her Father's voice was the first voice Temi heard, maybe it was because he had a a very deep voice, or maybe Temi was so focused on him, she forgot about her Mother or...
She didn't just know, but she knew she heard her Mother's voice too, as gentle and sweet as a Queen's.
Temi didn't hear her Mother's voice pretty clearly, but the way her Mother's mouth moved, she knew that her Mother had spoken.
And the way she had asked that question with Temi not hearing her voice audibly, it sent chills down her spine.
Temi that had been wrapped in a blanket earlier on, had removed it from around her body, but now that her Mother had whispered, not spoken, whispered and Temi didn't hear a thing, Temi automatically felt an air of cold surround and engulf her.
So she pulled the blanket back up.
Although, there are times when she's scared of her Dad, but there also times when, even the look her Mother gives to her, has her melting.
Therefore, she lowered her head.
So when the both of them had the loom on her face, Temi wished she had thought twice before having to come and tell them, but besides, there was a little surprise at the end.
Her Father looked at her, and then asked.
"Temi, look up at me and finish what you were saying!" Her Father said sternly, but not angrily.
Gulping, she slowly raised her head up at her Father and then at her Mother before slowly lowering her eyes down as she continued.
"When the headteacher called me, he questioned me about where some iPhone was and demanded that I returned it." She began.
Her parents listened as they watched her.
"And I was like, Sir, with all due respect and before God and earth, I do not know what you're talking about and then he cut me short that he didn't call me here right now to swear and that I knew what happens to people that sweared when they lied, I nodded, and then he asked me to confess, it else...!" Temi said as she paused trying to watch her parents' reaction.
"Or else what?" Her Mother didn't give her room to pause.
"Else they'd call you guys over...!" Temi responded.
Her Mother looked at her husband.
"At first, he said that they were gonna search my bag and all my belongings, and, well, if they found out, they were, like, they were gonna punish me, embarrass me in front of the whole school, the class first and then they would have you guys come over and explain things to you guys!" Temi said as she explained.
Father hearing her, Temi's Father furrowed his brows as he asked;
"Then why didn't they call us, then?"
Temi shrugged as she said;
"Well, everything was resolved...!"
"Resolved?" Her Mother asked as she frowned.
Temi nodded.
"How?" Her Mother asked again.
"Well...!"
"Wait a minute, the real question is, how did they find out that it was you who took the iPhone?" Her Father cut her short to ask.
"Yeah, that's the same thing that I asked." Her Mother said a in low tone.
"Really?" Temi's Father turned to ask his wife.
His wife nodded.
"Yeah, well, that was the direction she was headed...!" She responded.
Turning to look at his daughter, Temi's Father said;
"Go on...!"
"Well, to answer, your question Dad...!" Temi started.
"We've got security cameras in the white school, everywhere!" She began.
Her Dad nodded.
"So, it was not hard for them it figure that it was me...!"
"Was it actually you, did you actually steal the iPhone?" Her Dad asked little impatiently.
"C'mon Dad, wait a bit."
His wife tugged at his arm.
Turning to look at this wife, he saw her looking at him with a little pout as whispered;
"Be patient!"
And then with that, Temi's Father relaxed as he leaned back to rest on the couch as he brought his hand up to his mouth region, rubbing his chin.
"So with the security cameras everywhere, they saw that I was the one who had walked up to the teacher's table and that I was the one that had taken iPhone....!"
"And in reality, I had actually walked up to the teacher's table...!"
"To do what?" Her Mother cut in to ask.
"To submit my books of course...!" Temi answered.
"The assignments from yesterday...that was what I had give to submit...!" Temi explained, making her Mother calm down.
"So when I had submitted my books, I went back to sit down. I had hung my jacket, that one...!" Temi said as she pointed at a black jacket that was hung in the clothes stand.
"Was that why you dumped it right there when you got home?"
Her Mother asked as she slowly turned her eyes to look at her daughter.
Temi nodded as she faced get parents.
"So, after I had submitted my books, I went to use the restroom afterwards I came back and into the class, everything was normal, until I was called to headteacher's office."
"When I went in and he questioned me, he asked me what I had done when I first got into the school, I explained to him that I had submitted my assignments, went to use the restroom, and was just coming back when he sent for me."
"When I explained this to him, he studied me as he slightly narrowed his eyes at me."
"Then, after some inward deliberation and battle with himself, within himself, he hesitated before reaching out for his laptop."
"When he had opened it, he turned it to me and asked if that was me or not...!"
Temi said, her eyes distant as she stared into space.
Her Mother looked at her husband, while her Father studied her, his eyes not leaving her face.
"He pouted at a moving figure that had headed for the table and had placed books atop it."
"I had confirmed that that was me, then he nodded. Asking me to continue watching, the figure, my figure, moved away firm the camera, that was like out of the classroom, and then another figure came into the scene, with my jacket...!"
Temi paused as she watched her parents.
"Go on!" Her Father said, his face blank.
Temi nodded as she gulped and then continued.
"When that figure came into the scene, we saw that he/she headed for the table and then looking left and right, smuggled the phone into my jacket pocket!" Temi said.
"What?" Her Mother asked, brows furrowed.
Nodding, Temi answered;
"Yeah, seriously!"
"And then the figure still moved, as thee headteacher was showing it to me."
"Then I remembered my dream...!"
"What dream?" Her Father asked.
"That dream where I saw myself being accused of stealing something!" Temi answered stressed, the annoyance present in her voice.
"Oh, oh, oh...!" Her Father exclaimed as he remembered.
Placing his fingers in his temples as he remembered, he gently laughed at himself.
Turning to look at his wife, he saw that she was giving him, 'The Look'!
Then he got serious.
"Sorry." He said as he cleared his throat and looked forward, at his daughter.
Temi laughed gently.
Turning her head to look at her daughter, Temi's Mother chuckled as she said;
"Finish it off dear...!" And then turning to look at her husband as she eyed him, she said;
"And if you like, interrupt her again, I'll be here for you!" She said as she hissed again.
"Go on dear!" And with that, her Mother turned her attention to her daughter.
Smiling, Temi continued.
"So, well, the head teacher, as he showed me, had this look of anxiousness on his face, he was a bit anxious as he looked at me."
Temi said.
Her Father frowned and was about to ask something, but Temi beat him to it.
"When he saw that I had been frowning the entire time, he asked my class teacher to head out, and when she did, the headteacher began apologizing...!" Temi said that last part as he bursted out laughing.
"What?" Her Mother asked.
"Apologizing?" Her Father asked.
Temi nodded with a smile on her face.
"What for?" Both parents asked at the same time.
Temi shrugged.
"I don't know, he pleaded with me bit to tell you guys, but as my parents, you guys have the right to know!" Temi said.
That last part hit both of her parents as they could each other's body growing warm at the hearing of that.
Temi watched her parents.
She had thought that when she said that, her parents would all be like;
'Awwwwwww!' And stuff, but they didn't show any expression, causing Temi's shoulders to drop, because she had expected some kind of sweet reaction but hadn't gotten any.
"As he pleaded, I just stood there and watched him...!" Temi continued.
Her parents attention were drawn back.
"When he asked me not to tell you guys, my thoughts were elsewhere...!"
"Where else?" Her Mother asked.
"I don't know...!" Temi said.
"It's like I wandered to the time when I had the dream or something!" She said.
Her Mother looked at her Father, and then vice versa.
Then her mother turned back to look at her.
"And then what happened?"
"That was when I discovered something....!"
"What?" Her Mother asked.
"I told the headteacher to turn on the security cameras on his laptop, and before had even finished my request, he was already on it...!"
That part had Temi's Mother laughing and her Father too.
After laughing for a bit, Temi's Father looked at her as he studied her for a bit and then asked;
"And then what happened?"
