Chapter 11 - Mum and Daughter Time (Past) 10

Temi's eyes began to water as she slowly said;

"Well, today, I got to school, happy, elated and full of joy, like the normal juicy girl that I am...!" She began.

Get parents smiled a little at the last part that she said and them their faces went back to being serious again.

"Got on the bus, nothing happened, got down form the bus, still nothing happened, all normal, neutral."

She said as she looked down and gulped, then looking back up, she continued;

"Then I got to class...!"

At the mention of this, her parents hearts skipped a beat, especially her Dad's, as if they'd knew what was about to happen next.

But what she said next, had them wondering if anything had actually happened.

"But then, I got to to class, everything was normal at first, there wasn't any form of Temi did anything bad, Temi stole the iPhone or anything...!" She said as she raised her hands up mid air as of on a non-chalant manner.

Get parents frowned as her Father looked at his wife and then back at her.

His wife was the patient type. She'd listen attentively, and then come and pass out the information to you in a much more 'easy-to-understand' manner, you'd forget the teacher and focus more on her. That's why her had chosen her to be his wife in the first place.

Well that was not the entire reason, he just loved her for that specific part actually...

Maybe he should make her his assistant...

Thinking of it, he slightly furrowed his brows as he nodded thoughtfully, causing his family to look at him.

"Dad, you get what I'm saying, right?" Temi asked suddenly.

Mr. Smith that had been enveloped in his own thoughts and world, had been so caught up in that, it took him five (5) seconds to hear what his daughter had just asked him.

"Uh?" He asked after five (5) seconds.

Temi had opened her mouth and was about to repeat the question when he began nodding like an agama lizard.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah...!" Her Father said as he bobbed his head up and down.

"I remember!" He said once more.

His wife turned to look at him with a funny look on her face as she slowly eyed him, starting from looking down at him, and then slowly, she kept on looking till she arrived at his eyes.

Then giving him another quick eye, she playfully hissed at him as she turned to face her daughter, trying to hide to smile that was creeping onto her face.

Temi smiled.

She loved her parents.

Her Father, Mr Smith, had quietly sat down like an obedient man on the couch beside his wife, as he lowered his head down as if he had been caught doing something.

He sniffed as he used his hands to wipe something, whatever it was, away from his eyes.

Temi giggled.

Looking up at her, her Father had a pity face on, and with a pity voice, he said to his daughter;

"Look at what your Mother is doing to me, later they'll say it's the men that are always harsh. Look at how she's treating me...!"

Then he looked up, and with his hands up to the sky as he silently prayed, pleading with God.

His actions were so funny,and with the look on his face, Temi and her Mother couldn't help laughing.

Then after some funny pleading, he lowered his head as he sighed, shaking it in the process.

Then he raised his head up to look at his daughter, and then slowly he turned his head to the side to look at his wife, his right eyebrow highly raised as twisted his mouth in a funny manner as he eyed her, causing Temi to laugh the more.

Temi's Mother also turned to look at him slowly as she also eyed him.

They both eyed each other till their eyes were almost entering their sockets.

Temi couldn't help it as she rolled about on the sofa in laughter, holding her stomach in the process.

After sometime, both parents held their heads as they both looked at each other and then they both burst out laughing.

Then after sometime, Temi say up as she used her hand to wipe away the tears from her eyes as she looked at her parents and also looked back at her.

Slowly, she opened her mouth and said;

"Today, I was called to the headteacher's office and was asked of the iPhone!" The sadness was visible in her voice as her voice shook..

Her parents stared at their daughter.

Temi couldn't tell whether her parents were angry, sad, or what they were thinking whatsoever...

She just stared at them and they back at her, before slowly her Dad asked;

"And then what happened?"

Gulping as the knot in her throat got swallowed, Temi tried to blink back the tears that had already clouded her eyes.

Biting the insides of her mouth, Temi said;

"I was shooked at first, because, I didn't know what to do, as in I didn't know what they were talking about, I didn't even know if my teacher bad and iPhone because she's so local even in her form of speech, but yet...!"

"She teaches well, right?" Her Father cut in to ask.

Nodding, Temi said;

"Yes, yeah, she teaches pretty well, when the headteacher noticed she was poor in her firm if speech, he resigned to looking for another English teacher, but I don't know, maybe it's the force behind her, he's not been able to get one, so he stopped!"

Temi said.

Her Father nodded.

"As far as she teaches you all well, that's all that matters!" Her Father said as he placed his left hand in his chest.

His wife turned to look at him, and then at his hand on his chest and then back at him as she eyed him before playfully hissing and turning to face her daughter with a slight smile on her face.

Her Father looked at her then smiled as he turned to look at his daughter tilting his head in the direction of his wife.

Temi smiled.

Her Mother turned to look at him and he was swift enough to wipe the smile off of his face, looking normal as if he had not anything.

After looking at him for sometime, Temi's Mother looked away as she pouted a little making her look cute.

"So when he questioned me a little, he was like, 'Temi, I know you might be a bit scared as to why you're here, when you didn't do anything, right' he asked." Temi said.

Her parents listened attentively.

"So I nodded and was like, 'Yes Sir,' and he wen all like, well h nodded first at my response and then, he felt hesitant at first, and he couldn't look at me in the eye, I don't why...!" Temi said as her parents looked at each other.

"But, later he gathered the courage or something as he looked up at me and then asked 'Where's the iPhone, Temi? Where's your teacher's iPhone?' he asked." Temi narrated.

Her Mother looked down for a brief moment before turning her head to look up at her husband who had blank expression on his face.

"And then what happened?" He asked, his voice deep.

As Temi opened her mouth her Father beat her to it.

"Did you actually take it?" Her Father asked.

Temi shut her mouth as she frowned and shook her head, her Mother hitting her husband with her elbow to his stomach.

Holding his stomach, Temi's Father was looked at his wife as he was like;

"Hey, what was that for?" He asked.

"Why would you ask that kind of question?" She asked.

"You know that she's not that kind of person!" She said sternly but in a low tune.

"I know but...!" He sighed as he turned to look at Temi who had her head lowered as she played with the hem if her dress.

She had not yet changed from her school uniform the a casual wear. She was still in her uniform as she insisted on letting her parents know beforehand taking off her uniform.

As he looked at her, her shook his head as he turned to look back at his wife as he said;

"You still have to confirm, you know?"

His wife only looked into his eyes, after which she looked away at their daughter.

"If we were called over to come to the school, you'd still have to use some wisdom, and you also will have to ask her questions!" Her husband said.

"Don't worry, I get you...!"

And with that, Temi's Mother ended the conversation between herself and her husband.

Temi's Dad still looking at his wife couldn't help but gently shook his head as he raised his head up to look at their daughter.

"You yourself also know that Temi's not that kind of person, but if you were in the headteacher's shoes, even if she were your daughter, you know you'dstill have to do the same thing!" Temi's Father said as he whispered into the ears of his wife.

Looking up at her husband, Temi's Mother looked at her husband who didn't look at her, but gently nodded.

Nodding, Temi's Father said;

"Alright, Temi, continue!"

Raising up her head which had been lowered, and her Mother had feared that it might cut off before her husband whispered into her ear, Temi looked at the both of them, before saying;

"I don't think I would have come back home today, the time I did."

Looking at her parents and her Mother, whose head had swiftly turned to look at her daughter.

"What'd you mean?" Her Mother asked with a frown on her face.

Looking at her Mother from her Father, Temi narrowed her eyes a little before saying;

"I didn't even finish my classes today...!"

Her Father frowned.
